@@briandiltsmusic Absolutely, it’s very different kind of Episode for Worf. Usually these kind of abstract mystery episodes are solved by someone else like Picard or Data or Gordie, not Worf. So it’s interesting to see things solely from his perspective. In someways, Worf is actually more relatable than most of the other characters because he doesn’t have all the answers like Data. He’s not just good at everything like Captain Picard or Commander Riker, so it’s easy to relate to his sense of confusion and how unsure he is on how to respond to everything that’s going on around him. One thing that annoys me is when Worf was first jumping, Beverely said it might be his memory is wrong because of the concussion he got at the tornoment. But thisWorf didn't get a concussion so wouldn't Beverely scans show that he had no signs of a concussion? This would then raise red flags and they would go on then to do more in depth scans and would find out his "Quantum Signature" thingy is wrong. If only Worf jumped into a Universe where Dr. Pulaski was still in charge the episode could have been over in 15 minutes.

One tiny spot in space where there is a rip, so imagine if Worf's shuttle was just half kilometer to the right, or to the left of it. The chances of just randomly having your course go through this quantum rip is similar to getting hit by lightning, every day, for a year. And probably at the same time each day as well. The idea of multiverse stacking in on just one individual one, well all this had to happen you see, for how else would Worf ever get the idea to get interested in Troi? It takes the whole multiverse to come crashing in on itself just so that it can dawn on Worf, "Troi?, huh why not?" Granted, the mental hoops it makes you jump through on the science here is terrible, that being said if you suspend disbelief it is fun to watch.

@shadowreaver1851 Жыл бұрын
I love this Episode. And I’m not sure if it’s my favorite episode or not but it’s definitely in the top three. So much happens in this episode. I actually had to watch it multiple times in a row just to get all the details. The whole point of this episode is that things are constantly changing for Warf and if you take your eyes of the screen, even for just a few seconds your very likely to miss something. Especially early on when the changes are more subtle. For example when Picard shows up to the Birthday Party Riker mentioned Captain Picard could not attend but then he showed up a few seconds later. I just assumed he changed his mind and decided to show after all. It wasn’t until I started watching the series again that I realized that he didn’t make a last minute appearance at the Birthday Party. I actually had to go back to that scene again and then I noticed Picard had just about finished eating his piece of cake which meant he had actually been there in the room a lot longer than I originally thought, long enough to eat that cake. It’s just a small detail but I was really amused when I finally noticed it. The entire episode is full of minor changes that are easy to miss. I’m sure everybody picked up on date is blue eyes which are another fun little detail that isn’t even mentioned in the episode. It just happens in if you’re not looking at data size, you could totally miss it. I’m sure everyone noticed that weird looking alien ensign who is there who I’ve never seen before and of course Lieutenant Wesley crusher is impossible to miss. What can I say, I really enjoyed watching that episode again. I love episodes with a lot of detail and that’s pretty much the defining characteristic of this episode. It’s also a great Worf episode and an unusual one at that since it’s not about Worf fighting for Honor but more of a scifi heavy mystery.

No mention how Worf’s clothing didn’t teleport with him, he jumped into the new outfit? I think what makes the most sense is it’s Worf’s mind jumping between realities, so maybe it’s just displacing the other Worf - where they switch places (which is similar to the plot of the book Paths to Otherwhere). So not all Worf’s are jumping between realities - just that Worf I initiating it or however number of Worf’s. Worf did return to his reality, that first scene with the surprise party was his first jump that he made after hitting the fissure.

A very good, if not the best, Worf-centric episode. They totally should have made bat'leth competitions, and a Diana Troy relationship, parts of Worfs future story.
