Because it's a classic and the foundation for everything we call Star Trek today. If you want to compete with it you should do it very good. Besides, JJA has done it and Strange New Worlds is also rather a reboot than a prequel. I would better like to see a spinof or a sequel.

@@fiktivhistoriker345 You will find quality in everything done but it has become very diluted and sometimes confusing and too off base from its roots. This video shows a very simple reboot presentation of perhaps a top 40ish episode in the 79 episode series. This I want to see! I’m not going gaga over the sexploitation aspect, it just seems like a straight forward entertaining premise.
