The double hit on the rail gun, I wonder if that's a bug? At the moment, it makes it really good

I was playing with it on Zeus since it can have 2 and upping the explosion AOE, it doesn't do 2x explosion's of a hit but if it hits multiple guys with pierce they all explode too. Doesn't pierce explode asteroids thou, but you can still use to clear out a huge area if you added the 2x 25% aoe buffs.. Add the pilot with 25% at 400 Aoe and more LoL

Technically the best build in the game is a stealth attack drone ship as it's literally invincible

Ya they buffed up drones and changed them after vid some time. When is a real update gonna happen tho.. I wanna build my own stations and have trade up and running before i play again.

Great guide! Finally I'll be able to fit myself with something that isn't a missile boat for taking down more dangerous threats... it is useful but I don't wish to spend the whole game using missiles only lol Also, what type of weapons do you recommend for your fleet? I like to have lots of shuttles or yatchs zooming around alongside me, but they struggle to be effective and I don't know if it is because of their skill or weaponry (they usually survive for a good time, but either don't dish out enough damage or simply refuse to fire consistently). ...on the same note, when choosing a pilot for single-seat ships on your fleet, should I pick based on pilot or gunner skill? (Ideally I'd hire someone that has both, but they're kinda rare)

Hmm, I'd convert weapons to PD builds with higher dam and over heat them cuz of the nature of the fleets hit and run stuff, use that, let them burn out their shots with high heat cuz they'll have that cool down time during the hit/run stuff. Something you don't do on main ship :) I used PD/Mining lasers for most of the game. One of my best ships for taking out the fleets of 50X Gold start warp ins was my huge mining ship with all mining lasers, milk all the range you can and they slowly fly into the death box. I hardly used fleets cuz back then ai/support weapons were alot weaker. and its much easier to just focus on 1 OP ship/ships... get those small torpedo glass cannons out and blow stuff up in 1 hit :P Pilots, I would try to get ones that have 3 skills that are used as pilot, some look like junk but i think i did a test vs gunner and the 3 junk skills are (grater then) just gunner. Obviously you want pilot skill, eng shields, and gunner on the pilot, rare tho :P But nav, and what ever the rest are add up in usage.

For early game fleet ships try filling them with burst missile launchers. The range keeps them from continuously blowing up, and missiles wreck the ships you see early on.

Ya lots of stuff works now.. I'll get to try all this stuff all over again soon i hope when they get the space station updates out.. AKA real content.. My save files got broken after update after vids i did, idk why but game just didn't read them all properly so have to start over fresh i think.

There should be extra damage to hull and extra damage to shields weapons like in every other space game. It would have made for much better strategy instead of just the biggest gun for the power

What is exactly the formula for the rail gun pls? I used 6 cores and dmg boost but I never get to such high damage

Do you have crit mods on it too? The numbers might have been change with updates. I'm sure i saw something in patch notes awhile back. Same ship? Cuz diff ships gun slots have diff %effects too.

@@bigdaddykarvix43 hmm I guess. Im using the Venghi Cruiser... Cant recall the name. The one with 12* mount in the front. The Rail Gun has only 35% crit with maximum crit boosts and around 10K dmg with the best gunner I could find (14% extra dmg)

I think the ship i was using in that had a 50% boost for railguns. Its been awhile. But with venghi they get bonuses for lasers so best to use that build instead. You can still find that ship i was using i think.. All ships from other main faction up to class 5 can be found as rng loot. One of my vids cover the rng ship finding tips it just takes alot of saves first going into a system that can have abandoned ships without triggering then looking until u find one, load then get as close as you can before trigger event to a place you can save, then your good to go with loading the game 50+ times to get a good ship :P

for you when does the early game start? 1 hour in? 2 hours in? 3 hours in? 30 hours in? You never say and not everyone is you, so more clarity would be helpful. I have seen railgun ammo for sale in my recent game but I do not believe I have seen any weapons but maybe I could craft one, not sure. I have seen others talk about other games and they say early game but they actually mean like 20 hours into the game, I'm not sure I think of playing for 20 hours just to start using the early game boosts because by then we should be well out of the early game.

Do you have a question? Other then the concept of early being relative to how long it takes you to have access to materials to craft weapons and the ability to read the menu and item descriptions in said crafting menu.. So idk how to help u atm other then take a breath and look at crafting custom weapons carefully cuz its not complicated on how it works. I'm just giving advice after trying out tones of combinations so you know whats most effective so you don't have to test all the possible combinations yourself and you can save time by knowing 'hey these weapon types and builds have been tested on diff ships and this is what works best'. As you know games get updated and rebalanced alot and new things added so some things might be a bit diff now but concepts are the same. Anyway i'd like to help if i can but i need straight forwards questions with info about what your trying to do as reference. Sounds like you should start with crafting your own mining lasers as weapons, thats were i started cuz their low heat value vs their dam output is great, its just their short range you have to extend via ship stuff. I forget names but ship that adds range to mining lasers and the mod slot things you can add weapon range. It's been along time since i've played cuz the update/patch notes i've read haven't added its serious content, ie trade system and cartable space stations.

Rule of thumb is the higher level the sector you visit, the higher level the equipment/weapons will be for sale. The higher level the enemy you kill have a chance to drop higher level gear. Some higher level gear is locked behind faction relations, like you may have to be friends or honoured with a faction to buy some gear. You can visit higher level sectors as soon as you have the ability to do so. As soon as you get a warp drive. I tend to focus on missiles early on as they work for my play style. I haven't crafted anything I'm using in my current playthrough. The Vengi have the best missiles in the game, so I immediately become allied with them and start collecting those Vengi missile launchers.. Enjoy

How straight up says out load that I suck at this game so please stop listening to me because I'm an idiot. Wow, the defense weapon if setup correctly does hit you but it also can wipe out all kinds of small targets again if you set it up correctly I would try and explain it to you but I know others have already done that so I'm not help you, even if I was gonna ask a question, now doing so seems like a bad idea :)
