Every time I listen to this song, I'm reminded of how cruel Toffee was to Star in this moment. Sure, he never physically laid a hand on her, but he did very much hurt her here. Star is obviously traumatized by these events (heck, Toffee basically forced her to commit murder), spent the entirety of the season 2 premiere trying not to think about what happened (even disregarding Marco in the process), and is constantly blaming herself for breaking her wand when it was completely Toffee's doing.

I felt terrible for Star during this episode. It shows how powerful Toffee's influence is when he's able to have this effect on the events of the show, all the while working behind the scenes.

“i was never your wand”, and the wand was right because later it’s shown that glosyrick created the wand out of meteora’s baby shaker toy. He then gives it to the new and first queen of mewni when they time travel to the past. The wand always belonged to meteora she was the rightful and true queen but tragically the one who was robbed of it all. Meteora the shooting star or the star that was shot down.
