Awww thank you. For me, I think it's that when I was five years old I was so terrified of Darth Vader from a New Hope so when stuff like that happens my brain recalls it immediately.

Some others have mentioned the Return of the Jedi callback with the "I will not fight you." line. So, I will point out two smaller callbacks. Anakin's "You got old." mirrors Rex's dialogue with Ahsoka in Rebels season 2. Ahsoka's spin kick to Anakin's head was the same move she hit Maul with in Clone Wars season 7.

Anakin brings balance to the force Ahsoka represents the Force daughter because Morai is her guide and and had the daughter’s life force transferred into her after she had her soul corrupted by the son. I had to wake up at 02:00 (UK time) this morning just to watch this episode. Ahsoka ultimately just got herself stuck because she didn’t know how to move forward, just in the same way that she struggled with the realisation Anakin turned to Vader in rebels. Ultimately, I think Ahsoka’s spirit was in the world between rounds, but her body was in the water, the whole time, there’s just so much we don’t know between the cosmic force and the living force and just the world between worlds in general. Hayden does a really good Matt Lanter, in terms of inflections and tone. The Mandalorians seen in this episode are former death watch and we are part of the shadow collective. What I will say about travelling with space whales is sometimes it’s about the journey, not the destination 😜

@@remoterebels2 well from this point forward, I’ve got my alarm set for 02:00 in the morning, I think right now we’re at a really good point in the show. I never understood the hate that this show has been getting, I completely understand that this is very niche because you really have to watch TCW and rebels to appreciate the intricacies, even though I will say Dave has written the show in a way (this episode is an example of this) that it does give you an idea of what’s going on without doing a complete deep dive, but more surface level. I like how Hayden managed to bring in some Matt Lanter (Anakin, TCW voice actor) just in terms of mannerisms/inflections and that kind of thing while still being very hard and Anakin all at the same time. Definitely looking forward to the next episode, this is my favourite Star Wars, live-action TV show period, nobody is going to get me to change my mind. I mean since I was 31 (I’m 37 now) Ahsoka has been my second favourite character in all of the Star Wars with Anakin/Vader (the alter ego more so) being my favourite.

Thank you for telling us about this. If you think Edith is a big Star Wars fan, she is also a HUGE Buffy fan and anything to do with SMG and FPJ. And Kanan is one of her top favorite SW characters. That's why she gets all giddy when Jacen comes on screen. So we went back and watched and watched and then finally went to New Rockstars on YT where Eric showed the pic and we were both like OMG !! there it is. And Edith said the same thing about Ahsoka's eyes changing and that it wasn't a reflection. So thank you for saying that.

This is what I think and I also think Dave's done it to make us think he's hearing WBW when it's actually Baylan and Ahsoka's fight he can hear!... then again, I also believe Ahsoka is working through internalised trauma in a near death state and WBW & Anakin is all in her head. Either way, both options are there for people who wanna believe their preferred choice. Love Dave leaving it ambiguous like that for us 😂.

I also know what I'd do to misdirect people and this is a brilliant way to do it. also, if it's all real, how does Anakin get there when we know Palpatine couldn't ever get there? where is his saber, now Ahsoka tossed it away? why, if he's teaching her a lesson, is he appearing to her as Vader? is he the first Force Ghost ever to attempt to re-traumatise someone? imagine Qui-Gon appearing to Obi in his just-been-stabbed-about-to-die pose, as a Force Ghost? no, neither can I. I see what people are seeing but until told for sure that it's him AND WBW, I don't buy it for one second. and as I said, I also think the ambiguity is deliberately done.

Exactly. And it has huge implications. It means that the Anakin we see in this episode is effectively Anakin’s Force Ghost who has Anakin’s entire lifetime of experience, including killing Palpatine at the end of ROTJ. We have never seen this version of Anakin before. Filoni’s script was stellar, and Hayden knocked it out of the park.

9:50 Btw, did you know that according to “Bespin Bulletin” there was a fight scene shot between Anakin (as Hayden Christensen) and Ahsoka (as Savannah Steyn instead of Ariana Greenblatt, at least for that scene) on Mustafar in an alternate-reality-like setting during the "world-between-world like" moments, which they said was cut from the actual episode? In that scene Anakin would have showed her that she couldn't have changed his fate to become Vader even if she were there at that point, which would have taken away a lot of her guilt of her not having been there and not being able to save him, resulting in the now more light-hearted Ahsoka. They cut that scene, maybe cause it wasn't really a memory and/or cause Anakin's message/lesson was a different one? Though I still hope they would release it as a separate video on YT or sth like that, cause I would really like to see what that scene (and Savannah Steyn as Ahsoka) would have looked like and it also explains a bit better imo why Ahsoka is more enlightened and happy at the end.

Oh WOW!! No idea about this deleted scene and thank you for telling us. I think that would have been super cool to see too. Ahsoka did have so much guilt about not being there. It was nice seeing her smile at the end. 😊

I’m thinking just like Gandalf, Ahsoka was transformed. She’s wearing a dove grey so she’s mostly a “white Jedi” with allowances for some attachments knowing they can leave “dark” energy…therefore a somewhat Grey Jedi….. I also think she could’ve chosen to kill force Anakin and become a new Sith or fight until exhausted and leave a mortal life. I like her choice to live. I now have a new idea for my semi colon tattoo….

Yes!! I think I'm finally starting to understand this more and more. I was giving Edith a hard time as she is saying that Ahsoka is in white now in the vid. hahaha - So wait, what tattoo then???? And yeah, I was thinking that it was a light side dark side battle within too. I bet next Tuesday is gonna be so crazy.

Is it just me, or is Carsons "Ok" a lot like Viggo Tarasov's "Oh" from John Wick. And I'm still shocked Chopper didn't toss Jacen off the cliff.
