I'm really liking this book. I actually enjoy a break from the well-known characters. We all know what happens to them in the end, so there's not a lot of suspense. Using the Stormtroopers for the main characters and giving them a head start with the ISB ship was a brilliant idea. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Yeah a story about Stormtroopers, the most easily forgotten and disposable characters in the whole Star Wars series is something different that I really appreciate. Lots to like about this book I think.

I find it very funny how your nearly doing these audio books in the same order i read them as a kid. I expect “The courtship of princess leia” next then the 3 thick “center point station” books that I was refusing to read until my friend read me the first few chapters to get me hooked. I did think it was going to take me 3 months but reading none stop, i blasted through them in just one.

Interestingly enough this book was actually the first Star Wars Book I read on the channel but it was streamed live and the audio did not come out good enough in my opinion so I took those videos down earlier this year and I finally decided to try it again.

Gilbz recommended this book to me last year and I really enjoyed it. I like this different point of view of the events of the original trilogy. It keeps a real sense of an adventure story though with force using spies and swoop gangs and Luke and Han, with Leia getting a completely separate story of her own too.

Honestly I find Thrawn’s presence in this book unnecessary. Really makes you wonder wtf he was doing all this time, more so when he gets promoted. At least originally it could be implied that he had already been fairly removed, location and activity wise, from everything big. With this it’s just “huh?” With Mara it makes sense but Idk about Thrawn’s part here

I agree it's one thing to have characters who are opposed to the Empire from the beginning but it can sometimes mean more if you see the betrayal and the chance of attitude as part of the story

Apperently, dave isn't the only a- team fan among sw creators cuz this gives me instatly some bad batch vibes. Perhaps ur voicing with these thick accents, isn't fully innocent in that but that's still a good fit even if these r no clones. I very much enjoy ur work so far, u r a very good reader. It's just the first of ur projects that i started listening through but i hope u choose another of the less popular eu runs next cuz it's kinda annoying how easy some books are to find while so many others aren't at all here on yt. Also i'm very happy to get mara's introduction story. I've only known her roots from the stuff in zahn's 1st thrawn trillogy. Allways liked the character, prolly also the reason why ventress turned out so cool, specially in her 3 book appearences. She's pretty much "dooku's hand" eventho' her love interest was a much differnt type than luke.

The Empire can do James Bond gadgets because they have unlimited credits but Andor is like the Allies in World War 2 using affordable objects because the Rebels would have limited credits.

I hate to poke holes this early… But a star destroyer, helping the millennium falcon? Don’t it’s markings match those of a freighter that blasted its way out of Mos Eisley? Furthermore, Darth Vader looked right at it just before the destruction of the death star. The entire Galactic empire should be looking for this ship and destroying it on site. That being said, carry-on…

Honestly I disagree with your stance at the end with the empire being space Nazis, there's stuff in the lore about almost every planet brought into the empire being safer and more prosperous afterward. I feel like the empire is much more of normal space government, like how the law can be unfair and cruel in reality. Like everything we see in the movies and stuff is like Waco, Ruby Ridge, abu Ghraib, or an unfair trial where a grandma gets railroaded out of her home and onto the streets. They do lots of bad but overall they are a positive. Storm troopers are the elite, like SWAT or GIGN so they for sure are brought in for the dirty stuff just like in real life. Like there are probably thousands of worlds where imperial officers are like the 1950s smiling local policeman everyone likes or something. Just a thought I always have when the empire being wholely evil is brought to bare.
@FulcrumEntertainment2 жыл бұрын
I can see what you mean however that doesn't fit with the things I've seen from Star Wars. The Empire at it's core is built to serve the whims of a power hungry dictator. That is something that is certain in all the Star Wars media I have seen. All of its power and conquest of planets is in service to Palpatine's desire for further power and anything positive they do is an unintentional consequence that Palpatine can and will ubdo if he wants to. We just saw them order the deaths of innocent civilians that they knew didn't deserve to die. We know they suppress non-humans all across the galaxy. The Emperor destroyed democracy in the Galaxy destroying anyone who could oppose his power. That is not a normal government. I appreciate your point that irl governments do immoral things, that's very true, but personally I think we shouldn't accept when real world leaders are acting like fictional evil baddies rather than reframing the Empire as normal.

@@FulcrumEntertainmentAs a dark apprentice, I sensed that the Galactic Republic was in disarray. Its delegates held no interest in the common good. They would be easy targets for my influence. Serving as a senator, I manipulated their greed in my favor. With each new act of legislation, I rose through their ranks. Total control of the galaxy's governing body drew ever closer. -Sidious As a result of the invasion of Naboo, a crisis orchestrated by Sidious, the Senate elected Palpatine as Supreme Chancellor Sheev IS the pinnacle of democracy. So democratic he was that he created a crisis to justify the use of emergency-powers. It only takes one crisis....for a democracy to turn into...someting not so democratic.
