It does help that Star Wars is actually pretty popular in Japan, which itself makes sense when you realize it's based on Samurai flicks and the like. Actually, part of why Star Wars works is that Lucas took notes from how those films could thrust you into a foreign culture and get you to understand them without /too/ much explaining.

Star Wars is basically the perfect fusion of the old Samurai films like (Seven Samurai by Kurosawa) and the wacky Flash Gordon serial from the 60s. Its why the original trilogy movies were called spaghetti westerns in space.

It's not just cause Sasageyo slaps; every single scene fits the changing pace of the music, 100% of the time. Just a few examples: 00:00 - 0:30: Slow-moving wide shots, while the song is just building 0:30 - 0:42: Luke's saber swings and Rey & Kylo's clash are right on beat 0:42 - 0:48: Camera whizzes past characters before slowing on Luke & Vader right when the song goes half-time 0:51 - 0:58: Imperials at attention while Vader descends; it makes the song sound like a patriotic anthem 0:58 - 1:00: A quick flash of young Ani with Obi-Wan while the music lightens up for two bars 1:03 - 1:14: Faster cuts with the double-time beat 1:14 - 1:26: The cut to Evil Ani right when the song goes minor again (fantastic) There was a lot more planning going on here than just "it looks cool". Well done!!
