Another good spot I recommend is up by the imperial shuttle. To the left of it is a hollow log, but don't go inside it. When facing it, go to the left side of it and climb on top, then you will see a small space your guy can hide in. Be careful though, as you can get shot back there, but you can take out AT-ST's and all other enemies. Look for a small opening under the log and you can shoot through there or between the other two trees.

there's another trick that 'kinda' works at least until the AT-STs arrive... for that collapsed AT-AT at the front and right of it's collapsed body there is a gap which you can jump into and duck and they cannot get you inside... you can throw ion grenades out of it to kill infantry and droids and if the angle is too wide you can jump out kill them and run back in.
