The biggest problem I have with the way toy lines have gone is that folks like me can't get ANYTHING. I don't do preorders, because I can't just click button and then wait to see when money magically disappears 7, 8 months down the road. But by the time they're "on shelves," they're already sold out from preorders. That's what happened to me with the Game Stop Republic Commando Boss. I wish I could pay at preorder, because then I know the money is covered and I can just wait for the magic box to show up and surprise me. I can't believe how hard it is to give companies money when I have it. I'm not saying they should MAKE people pay at time of preorder. But give me the option, at least. "Pay now or charge when shipped?" sort of thing. I don't think that's asking too much, is it?

I have a paypal account specifically for action figure purchases. That way I can keep track of what comes and goes, and what needs to be in there for pre-orders. I think if you set it up with Paypal debit, make the pre-order with it, then move the funds (plus extra for shipping) to that account it's essentially the same as if the company took it at time of order. Then you're set with any site, any company, any toyline.

The reuse of Hawk from the neck down (which is itself a remold of Rex, who was remolded from the 2013 clone trooper) really killed my interest in the Jet Trooper, especially when they flat out lied during the livestream where he was revealed and said it was using the new clone body. I don’t know why Hasbro engineered a brand new clone body with no pins and improved articulation just to go back to the old body with the ugly pins. Now that they’ve removed the pins, I can’t unsee them on new clones that have them. And I can’t agree that it’s the best of both sculpts, because the legs can’t get into a good kneeling pose. It’s still got all the restrictions in the torso and the legs, even if the arms can move inward a little more. Of these three, I’m the most excited for the Umbra ARC. I just wish he came with a Phase I helmet since Phase I and II helmets are options in Battlefront II.

Yeah having two helmet options would be ace. I’m about to get super nerdy here though and highlight an error in the game regarding Phase I ARC trooper helmets: Canonically, Phase I regs had the T-shape visor with the ridge line (Mohawk?) over the top finishing with that pointed bit sticking out the back, while the Phase II regs had the newer visor and the ridge line changed so that it followed the head as it went down towards the back of the helmet. So with these two designs it’s easy to tell Phase I from Phase II. However in canon whenever we see ARC Troopers their Phase I helmets actually used the newer visor combined with the high pointed ridge line on the top. The Phase II helmets have both the newer visor and the lower ridge on the top. The other major difference is the rangefinder, which not all clone troopers had. So, the helmet used on the Black Series Echo and Umbara ARC Trooper figures is actually a Phase I ARC Trooper helmet. The ‘Phase I’ ARC Trooper helmet seen in SWBFII never existed canonically. I think the game designers may have either missed this detail or deliberately made this choice to maintain more of a visual difference between the two.

​@@rarewhiteape Yeah, what Battlefront 2 calls "Phase II" is actually more of a "phase 1.5"; it matches what Colt and Rancor Battalion were wearing during the Battle of Kamino, fielding prototypes with features that would be integrated into Phase II. I called them Phase I and Phase II as described by Battlefront II for simplicity's sake, though you're right, Battlefront II did bugger that up. Though I'd argue that saying that "Phase I ARCs" as depicted in Battlefront II "never existed canonically" is like saying that other elements exclusive to that game don't count as canon either, indeed, like the Jet Trooper. I still visually prefer the Phase I helmets of all the options, though.

I feel like the perfect clone would be the Captain Rex upper body with the new clone lower body. That way you get the nice shoulder pads, the elbows that don't crack, the good range in the elbows, bulkier torso, the nice sculpting going into the abs, the better leg articulation, ankle articulation and proportions. Ideally it would have the older head sculpts, too, and double trigger fingers with vertical wrists.

Not all clones would use double trigger figures with vertical wrist. Only the majority of named clones. Most other clones would still need the Horizontal open hand to help hold/aim the DC-15 blaster rifles.

@@marvelsomething1952 Not at all, you’d turn the hinge sideways, causing that hinge to be horizontal and not move up & down when the hand is holding the fore grip. With a horizontal hinge, turning it side ways makes it vertical, allowing you to properly hold a rifle correctly when put into the shoulder of figure. That’s why Hasbro does it that way. You can try it yourself at home. Hold a rifle properly and you’ll see what I mean then compare it to our TBS figures. The new clone bodies allow us to have a proper rifle holding stance, taking away the horizontal hinge from left hand, and you’re screwing yourself in the process from perfecting the correct pose. I need to create hinges like SHFiguarts. Those are the best or give us swappable hands with different hinges.

@@barry7816 Well the grip of the weapon will already be able to rotate on that access, so I don't see the problem. My point is that, when you hold a rifle, your left forearm is roughly parallel to the rifle with your wrist turned in. For that, you'd need a vertical hinge.

I do also like how you assumed all shooters are right handed as well; ignoring how most in the military learn to be ambidextrous in combat situations lol Not ever have I had a straightened wrist/straight arm on my support hand when shooting properly. Especially considering I’m in the military and shoot quite often. I do see what you’re trying to get at but it just doesn’t really work. Hasbro just needs to revamp their hinges and create ones similar to SHF/Hot Toys, or just give us alternate hands with separate hinges as they do with the majority of marvel legends. That way it gives us collectors a better variety for posing

That new body is really based on the clone wars animated style with the skinny lanky awkward proportions. Some people really like that. I’m not a fan in plastic form. So it’s good to see the mashup. Hopefully down the line we can an updated live action version and solves all the problems and looks nearly 1:1

I had ordered that jet trooper back when it was first announced, I later had canceled that order because I figured I didn't need him. It showed up at my door a few days ago from that order even with being canceled, and I don't recall having been charged for it, so I think there may have been some technical glitches over at Gamestop with some of their pre-orders

The reason for the unsymmetrical markings on the night brother warrior is because in Canaan it actually says that their tattoos were not perfect it also says a little bit about that on the back of the box I believe.

I think the problem with the chest paint on the Umbra Operative ARC Trooper is less the sculpt (it could be a touch longer, but it's already fairly close), and more that the paint design is too large/low on the Hasbro figure compared to the in-game design. In-game it's shoved up towards the top of the chest armor, while Hasbro kinda let it balloon out to fill out more of it.

I also had to look at the game model and such for the Nightbrother but yeah...it is accurate to the mural art so I suppose it's more of a problem with the design of the character. Was nice to get a pile of Star Wars last week! So i’m not a gamer so i’m keeping that Nightbrother as just one random son of Dathomir. not that i don’t absolutely LOVE HIM. Especially his very specific weapon. diggin that tooth on the hilt. trying to make cuts here and there. sign of the times. those paint apps on the face have to be checked. especially around the mouth. I had to take a look at the other pre-orders in the shop, since I pre order my gamestop exclusives from my local shop which is .5 miles from home & I know the people working in there pretty well at this point. they had for pre orders to find good paing apps on the face. especially around the mouth. gotta love the 501st jet trooper. such a jumble of parts though. didn’t like that you couldn’t point the toe of a character that’s gonna be flying or jumping into the air. Still diggin him plenty. he fell right in line in my 501st. So I love dark, and that ARC trooper is DARK. Not a gamer so i didn’t know it existed. Don’t care. Just love it. Echo was a great fig. and i’m stoked for the repaint. Absolutely an ARC PUNISHER! would love to add this kit to the Punisher garage next to the Chopper & his suit of ‘War Machine’ armor. grabbed two in the hopes of doing something interesting with one. waiting for BOSS. happy to see another character from the Republic Commandos being offered, especially with those nice subtle changes in each character turning out well so far based on those first two. i’ve been happy with the Gaming Greats line since waaay before it was even called the Gaming Greats line. I don't get why the kamas for the new ARC Trooper figures aren't cloth like Rex, it's not like the belt and holsters will cause too many wrinkles in it since we got every previous clone figures that include a cloth kama with gear on top of it. And I'd rather have a bit of awkward wrinkles than restricted range of articulation. It's still my favorite figure next to Echo but that bit is a bit problematic for crouching or running poses.

Not SW related, but I have an action figure customizing question. I have been holding off getting the Superman Rebirth MacFarlane figure because I don't like the reuse of the lower legs from the original figure with the painted red strips. I was thinking about getting a Mattel Superman Rebirth figure to use the waist down and the torso up from the MacFarlane figure. You have experience with both these lines. Can this be done and still look good?

Too bad they're instantly all sold out or not available in certain regions... I'm planning on getting Delta Squad starting with Boss and Fixer but since these are Gamestop exclusive It's gonna be tricky. Getting Crosshair and Hunter is already impossible when they're not exclusives, I had pre-ordered them but after waiting way past their June 2021 release date up until September I just cancelled and they're still not available now so I just gave up. I won't even try to get that ARC Trooper after barely managing to get Echo.

Can I return my Jet Troopers to a GameStop brick and mortar store?! I never would have ordered one if I knew it was not going to be the new Clone body. I might have been able to stomach this body with the improvements, but the lousy hips ruin it.

I have no idea why this is even a problem, but it seems that literally every single jet trooper has the problem with the swapped shin pieces.

Could be as simple as the wrong tubs at the factory. They are painted correctly, just mixed up at some point of the process.
