To be fair, great actors can overcome that. Some actors are excessively famous so much so it can be hard to separate the actor from the role. Other actors are insane in real life, or I dont like them for whatever reason. HOWEVER, great actors can overcome audience expectations and still provide immersive entertainment. The problem is most of these new actors are really bad at acting, so we only see the actor and never the character they poorly play. If Rachel Zegler could act like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, I ultimately wouldnt care and would be entertained by her products. But she cant act, and she is a deplorable person in life.

I want to believe that “one good Star Wars movie could restore the franchise”, but Disney has become so fundamentally toxic now, so incapable of comprehending what GOOD Star Wars even looks like, that it’s going to take a string of good Star Wars to PROVE they’ve figured it out, and to prove that they aren’t more invested in ThE mEsSaGe than making good movies. And then there’s the other side of that equation. I don’t have D+. I don’t plan on subscribing to D+. I’d actually like to watch Skeleton Crew, but I can’t, because Disney is hoarding it behind their walled garden, and I ain’t paying the price to get through the gate. Now, if they threw it up on Hulu I would definitely give it a try.

I want Star Wars to thrive in the future. Star Wars content has been like a rollercoaster over the past few years. There have been a few winners; however, there have been losers. I didn't watch The Acolyte and the sequel trilogy was not good. Kathleen Kennedy should retire and new leadership should be brought in. I will say, in my opinion, Star Wars Skeleton Crew so far is enjoyable. I will recommend it to others and hopefully others will do the same.

This project really does not appeal to me on a fan/story telling level, but can respect what it was going for. And having said that, I don't think trying to use this show as a means to dunk on Disney Star Wars is it... it's still a kids show that doesn't feature any legacy characters to care about... of course this thing was never gonna be a huge ratings thing.
