Considering how large of a role she's had in later years they've been quite sparse about giving her a backstory. Ming-Na Wen has said there is one, but she doesn't want to give out details in case they will turn non-canon later on. One detail that's often overlooked - she made it sound in Mando S2 like she works for Boba _because_ he saved her, but in TBoBF they both agreed that her debt to him was paid when she helped him get Slave 1 back. Which would mean she sticks around with Boba because... she wants to.

I agree about the backstory part, hopefully we get more on that in some upcoming project. I’m almost certain we haven’t seen the last of her
