Hi from the great state of Maine. My son and I listen to you, I listen to you at work in a warehouse and my son listens to you at night staying up way too late. Maybe in your best Boba Fett voice you can tell Remi to get to sleep if he knows what's good for him. Thanks man and keep up the good work. Love it.

BBC = Before battle of Coruscant (beginning of Revenge Of The Sith) where everything falls into place. remember this is Sidious's story so thats the Key date for him
@danishaffer2673
@danishaffer2673 Жыл бұрын
BBC probably stands for before battle of corescant or revenge of the sith. The sith perspective means they’re counting down to the end of the Jedi. Where as typically the perspective is either the Empire or Rebellion who count up from the destruction of the first Death Star.

i like to think the rebels/new republic started using bby and aby since the empire lost that war. personally i couldnt see emperor paperplane or dank vader using a battle they lost as a way to count the years
@danishaffer2673
@danishaffer2673 6 ай бұрын
You know it’s fiction and the ‘dating system’ such as it is is for the reader, so we can understand the ‘historic’ context. Also dank Vader was fascist scum. Genocide has only one solution, workers’ revolution! Land back free Palestine, workers stand with the oppressed peoples of the world, unite!

Tbh it would have made more sense to me if it said ABC (after battle of coruscant) as the Sith invaded coruscant once and stormed the Jedi temple. The whole star wars timeline doesn’t make sense as I don’t think we ever got any specific time dates apart from the existence of bby and aby, which makes little sense to me as how did they know of Yavin during the clone wars to refer to it as 22bby-19bby).
@danishaffer2673
@danishaffer2673 4 ай бұрын
You’re over thinking it, it’s just a reference point for the reader, so that we know. I doubt, though I haven’t done a study, that you’d find the dating system in any dialogue. It is most likely entirely narrative, it is a meta-exposition for the reader. Really these are just dime novels, pulp fiction, they aren’t exactly master works.

“For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.” - Jedi Master Yoda. This section of the novel lends SO much to the duality of our relationship with the force. And as always, your reading is masterful. Thank you.

Another great reading, Harry. Keep up the good work. Chapter 15, especially the talk between Plaugius and Palpatine was amazing to hear, and I have to say a cracked a smile when I heard that your voice for Tenebras was based of Bela Lugosi. As for your question about what BBC could stand for I can only think of it being before the battle of Coruscant, the battle that we see taking place at the start of episode 3. It might be that way because the battle of coruscant was effectively the turning point of the clone wars spelling the end of the CIS.

I don't know if you're still reading these comments, but A: I love your work, great job, & thank u! & B: "BBC" stands for Before the Battle of Coruscant, which is the battle shown in the opening scene of Revenge of the Sith (ep 3). They used the term in a few other pre clone wars books, but BBY was already so "established" that it didn't seem to catch on very well. As I'm sure u know there r Many writers that create SW novels, & only they know how well they interact, so.... Again, thank u very much, I've listened to everything (SW) you've put on KZbin, & since it's free, I won't give u a hard time about a Droid w a Scottish accent..😂😂. Also u asked about Sith names. My name is Joshua Smith (unfortunately) & my Sith name is Darth Smittius. & yes I'm an artist, so it fits... Thanks again, Love u & Fulcrum & I look forward to "SW ep 13 - Dawn of the Fulcrum Knights."

@@GO-7777 The Crapolyte is badly written etc. I know you ain't asking me, but I came to reply to bigdgrant. It's not the "gayness" as Leslie put it, nor the wokeness. It's everything else, except special effects and camera/sound crew. There's parts of most episodes that are somewhat good, that are promptly ruined by bad script, writing, well. You get it. I watched all of them twice, and a couple 3-4 times. What is your opinion? Oh btw I think the other shows are above average to very good; depends on the episode. Ahsoka is a fairly decent series. It would've taken little effort to make it spectacular. I've watched it several times, I do enjoy it

Late to the party but BBC is clearly before the battle of coruscant (in which palpatine gets kidnapped by grievous). I'm sure the author's reasoning is that at the time the book is supposed to be canonically the battle above coruscant is easily recognizable and established to give the reader an idea of exactly when this was taking place. It could never be BBY because that was years and years later. Young 20 year old palpatine to 54 years would make him 74 years old and die at 74. He dies at 88. It's clearly obviously the battle above coruscant. Which makes much more sense along the time line.

It's rather unnerving when you realise that the Sith-orchestrated gatherings on Sojourn are the Galaxy Far, Far Away's version of our world's Bilderberg and Bohemian Grove jamborees... Setting that aside for the moment, though, I seem to recall that you previously asked what listeners thought about the depiction of Force powers in this book. For my part, I have to say that I find them rather suspension-of-disbelief-breaking, so far removed are so many of them from anything seen in George Lucas's films (and out of keeping with Lucas's habit of constantly downplaying Force-powers in interviews). If Anakin and Luke Skywalker, perhaps the most powerful Force-users who ever lived, could do little beyond sort of vaguely sense the immediate future prior to training, then the idea of the (largely) untrained Palpatine suddenly gaining the ability to telekinetically kill upwards of a dozen people seems rather suspect. Sure, you can point to the new-born Darth Vader crushing some medical droids and related equipment in "Revenge of the Sith," but I don't see the circumstances as being even remotely comparable (untrained teenager having a tantrum versus a mature and vastly-experienced former Jedi Knight experiencing the most soul-crushing despair imaginable). When Anakin is at what is arguably the most unhinged and enraged moment of his life, confronting the Sand People on Tatooine after his mother's death, he seems to barely even draw on the Force, favouring his lightsaber and raw, animal aggression instead. So too with Luke in "Return of the Jedi," smashing down Vader's guard with repeated, savage blows from his lightsaber like some kind of berserker, but not notably drawing upon the Force for any sort of more exotic attack. That said, though, I really must commend you upon your voice-acting, particularly Han and Luke, which are wonderfully evocative impressions. So too do I enjoy the effort and creativity that you've invested in the alien characters whose voices have been largely left up to readers' imaginations, such as your delightfully splenetic Bossk (though I am curious as to why you used essentially the same voice for both Admiral Ozzel and Zuckuss, as the latter is supposed to be A: very young, and B: insectoid, so one would rather expect his voice to be quite high-pitched and buzzy, instead of plummy and blustery). Still, do keep up the good work (but please don't ask me to join the "Knights of Fulcrum;" I cannot in good conscience do so whilst the Expanded Universe continues to be referred to as "Legends" on this channel).
