Bringing Palpatine back, altough being strange and somewhat questionable, brings back a huge amount of suspense and danger that was lost with the total fuck up with Snoke.

Yeahhhhh!!!!! I feel in my heart Rey some how is a Skywalker for sure. It makes some sense if she’s the third and JJ is leaning on good numbers as far as completion of a cycle. It definitely feels like if this the Rise of Skywalker it can’t also be the end by the time we get to the end of the film which is so satisfying. The Huts are back in the picture most likely. Lando is back in the Falcon. I don’t know what it is but everything Kylo Ren does just seems to be part of a futile effort and that was just something I never felt that with Vader and the Empire, but then there’s PALPATINE to correct that.

Lucas had drafts to include a salavged death Star, in an ocean on a planet and Rey and Leia were supposed to search for technolgy on it to explain events? it was never accepted in the Disney handover, but would appear that Lucas may have a hand in directing there story. out side of this? Disnet still suck as coherent stories, and they failed to fully develop snoke, so Third movie leaves a lot of gaps to fill.

Not a good Star Wars movie, but a good popcorn movie.) @warrcc c I'm actually not entirely sure of that. Anyone familiar with new post-ROTJ canon material should be aware of the plans Palpatine left in place for after he died. It never really made much sense until this trailer...

@warrcc c I'm actually talking about the *new* canon. Specifically, The Aftermath Trilogy and Battlefront II. All media released since 2013 is canon. We also have the concept art from the Art of TFA depicting underwater Death Star ruins... so a lot of this is old ideas. Also, the EU was rebranded as Legends... it was not "erased." Some of it had already been decanonised over the years. George Lucas' story treatments decanonised even more of it. And speaking of George's ideas.. they have kept various elements of it. Sure, they dropped the big part about "microbiotic" beings who control the universe... but is that something people really wanted to see?

I'm actually really hoping this becomes the canon version of Dark Empire. The signs are there. Palpatine is back, the new character Jannah looks like Salla Zend, and if Luke becomes a "bad guy" like in Dark Empire they could explain things as: Luke disappeared originally to die and be reborn so that he could fool the emperor into thinking he finally won, while becoming powerful enough to finally defeat the emperor. If you read Dark Empire, Luke basically acted on his own, "fooling" everyone.

Then he turned to my nephew and succeeded, and my nephew Ben created the Knights of Ren through his Jedi friends. I disappeared to seek out the Jedi texts in order to figure out how the emperor was revived. I figured it out and wanted to die in order to be revived as a dark side user. Why a dark side user? Because only then can the emperor believe he truly won. I didn't tell anyone my plan because if my mind can be corrupted, anyone's can. I refused to train you because IF my plan were to fail, the emperor would go after you, you being a Jedi master had I trained you."

Dont get your hopes up? There is too many slip ups to just wipe the slate clean... Rise of Skywalker may alude to much. Its Clear that the treatment of Mark Hamil, aka Luke was appalling, Im pretty sure JJ knows this as his character was central to the handover. Rey just cant handle being the chosen one, as she cant be redeemed in the final movie since she, never needs redeeming shes perfect. Kylo may carry some weight if the narrative works in any redemption arc. Lando is a nice touch, but edging on nostagia is no longer enough. We need to See Luke, as Luke Skywalker, the Last of the Jedi. He and only him alone, being the last (yoda confirmed) Jedi to fix things. A ghost will not do it, but a possible Risen Luke, well maybe if the narrative works. Rey needs alot of work, Being the daughter of Luke would work, if the narrative is brought up to speed. Nice to see Leia and Rey, hope that is a touch on a whole story course correct. The Emperor, well we knew they screwed up Snoke? and the Emperor was the major hiden villian, Will Luke and The Emperor finaly dual? leaving the kids to put things in order. The death Star in the Ocean was from original Lucas drafts that relate to Luke and Rey searching for tech linked to palpatine. Go slow, as the third chapter has an immense ammount of work to undo the crap of the last Jedi. But, there was a small buzz hearing Luke again.

They say it’s the final chapter in the Skywalker Saga, but wait in about 10 or so years when they reveal Episode X is coming. I wonder what that title means. Is Luke coming back? Is Anakin coming back? Is Rey a Skywalker? Is it talking about Kylo? Is Anakin back? For me, this trailer just asks a lot of questions.
