The original Star Wars came out in 1977 when I was 20 years old, I saw it the very first night and no one in the theatre knew what to expect, at times during the movie you could hear a pin drop, at others audible gasps. It was that cool and set the bar for everything that followed. Seeing these clips honestly brings a tear to my eye and a lot of emotion, if you weren't there to experience it first hand you wouldn't know how much it means after 38 years to see the story continued, hopefully they do it justice.

amazing how, 90% rehashed plot from the first movie with a lame twist thrown in to try to fool die hard fans that adds nothing to the story. A shitty plot revolving around nothing but space battles and zero character development. Into darkness was closer in tone to spaceship troopers than even the worst Star Trek episode or movie (yes it's worse that ST5). Oh yeah and Spock (the most logical and cautious member of the original cast) having a fistfight on top of a truck. Rodenberry is rolling over in his grave after that.. Fuck that movie.

I got it all figured out... finally. Okay, so, there are assumptions that Rey is Han/Leia's daughter. Which of them has the Force, neither of them. Even though Leia was Anakin's daughter, she never learned the ways of the Force, and obviously, Han doesn't have the force. Who has the Force? That's right, Luke does. And so does Rey. Finn (if I am correct) doesn't have the Force. And it all makes sense because of "My father has it, I have it. My sister has it. And you have it." Who is "you"? Rey. BOOM SHAKALACKA.

+Eden Gaming You're right that it was, although missing the last line obviously and he redid the lines for TFA which combined with the fact it is in the official trailer means it is highly relevant and not just a filler. There's an interview where he discusses the exact thing actually and makes a joke out of it, where he slipped up when re-recording saying "My father HAD... oops HAS it" and saying to the audience "You all have it" - meaning "The Force". I just feel like Luke is talking about either a son/daughter or neice/nephew especially as he works from his Father (oldest generation) to the youngest and there's just something familiar once again about it all with Rey. I'd love to see her swinging a lightsaber about it would be awesome.

It was burned with his body by Luke at the end of ROTJ. So that's why it was messed up. Your next question would probably be "how did Ren get it?" The answer is when Luke was training him Kylo probably stole it and kept it for himself, and a reminder of the dark side.

+Zenmaster Jared don't go around claiming all the true fans hated it. I have seen all the movies since 1977, I have seen the tv shows, read the books, played the games, hell... I even paid to see The Phantom Menace *shivers*. And I thought The Force Awakens was a grand film that truly represents what makes Star Wars great. On the production level, its flawless. The characters, both old and new, are spectacular. The story is similar to A New Hope for sure, but many great sequels are similar to previous films. Creed, Terminator 2, Aliens, Toy Story 3, etc. Just because its Star Wars means fans tend to want to criticize it if its not as great as The Empire Strikes Back, which few films in general ever will be. Everyone of course has a right to their opinion, but don't say all the true fans hated it. I am a true fan, and many others are true fans, and we have a right to love it. Especially after seeing the prequels...

Han Solo was killed by his son, Kyle Ren. Rey has Jedi powers and Luke Skywalker doesn't show up until the last 30 seconds and had no dialogue. Kyle Ren survives the explosion at the end, leaving it set up for him to be the villain in the next movie.

While there are certainly similarities to A New Hope, this didn't faze me and didn't impact the overall grand experience. Termiantor 2 is extremely similar to the first, and both of those films are classics and beloved. The Force Awakens is the same way. Its also perfect on the production level, giving us exactly the effort and work it took to create the original trilogy. While I don't hate the prequels, they are surely disappointing in retrospect. I was not disappointed with The Force Awakens, and I hope when this new trilogy is finished you may change your mind. If not, to each his own

So, I wasn't 100% sure on what I've been hearing about episode 7. Many people said CGI heavy others said J.J. was bringing back the good old days of practical effects. I'm at 5:57 of this video and in tears of joy... Finally back to the good old days of Episodes 4-6. Episodes 1-3 were so boring with EVERYTHING being CGI. Thank GOD we won't have to deal with that as much in Episode 7. Movie coming out tomorrow folks! WOOT!
