Thank you for saying what needs to be said. For nearly 20 years (maybe more) Facebook has propelled us to the center of our own universe’s. Our opinion on everything matters. Before finding this video I scrolled by a thumbnail about a guy rating the different ghost trap popcorn buckets. Everything is important to us. Constant videos of this is the best (insert instagram influencer paid promotion here). In many ways it’s all become a cesspool, it’s a known fact that watching hate videos gets more views, I can’t stand them. I tend to gravitate to channels that actually enjoy the subject they built their channel around. This video is great, it speaks so much truth. I love this so much.

On one hand, when someone chooses to put themselves in the “public eye” so to speak, it’s inevitable that you are going to have to deal with the public’s thoughts and opinions. That being said, it does NOT mean you have to put up with it, or cater to those thoughts and opinions. It’s sad that something that gives people joy (collecting) can get so political and opinionated. I’ve often considered starting a KZbin channel for my collection/collecting, but seeing what you and others have to put up with from the “public” has been the main reason I have not. It’s not worth it IMO. But that’s my mentality about it. I’m glad there are collectors like you and others that put out content for people to enjoy. Collect what/how you want. Last time I checked, there wasn’t a rule book for collecting. The only rule there is and/or should be is this: Have fun!! Keep up the great content, and MTFBWY!

The Hasblow boys are out for your head, Mr. GQ Jedi? 🤣 I only collect "loose", so I open up my RETRO COLLECTION figures as I get them - and enjoy them. You live only once. The Hasbro RETRO packaging is so p*ss-poor, it's no big loss to ditch the cards once opened (because of the cheap glue used, it's only a matter of time before the bubbles peel away from the cards, anyway). Besides, it's easy enough for anyone interested to get a complete set of vintage Kenner reproduction cardbacks and re-card the figures if they choose to - it'd look prettier than the Hasbro RETRO COLLECTION packaging.

More often than not, videos, like this are a necessity, if nothing else to just remind the “manchild”, you don’t care. I appreciate your content, and the passion for this stuff it resonates far above whatever tertiary items may exist IDK. Within the last 120 days I’ve began collecting vintage Kenner and I enjoy it. I see a lot of nonsense, and the term used for these manchildren called “gatekeepers.” I think it’s important for all of us who enjoy this hobby to remember that these gatekeepers, while most likely social media influencers, in reality, that’s all they are. They are gatekeepers of only their own opinions in the little spaces they choose to carve out for themselves in their social media games they create. I pay no attention to these knuckleheads, especially those who get into the dumbest of arguments versus repro over vintage. They’re going to find out one way or another and sooner or later no one really cares. They’re the only ones who care because for them collecting has become more about worth and monetary gainand they don’t want people encroaching on it. Those people will simply say either get over it or your frustration is going to increase exponentially and there’s nothing you will ever be able to do about it. Why? Because we have our own likes and people like Stan, Solo, keepers customs, etc. etc. exist because we exist and that’s why they’re not going away. Fans do the best work and fans alike but of different opinions and backgrounds are what make this IP and the vintage collecting hobby what it is. GQ, keep rolling with it man there are way way more of us than there are of these guys. Why do I know that? Because the crybabies and negative people are always the loudest. It’s like some brat sitting in a ceremony who doesn’t want to sit steel starts kicking and screaming in a crowd of 200 or more people yet that little turd is the only one anybody can hear at the moment.

Seriously I have a question a serious question I missed out on a lot of GI JOE and Star Wars vehicles and such and I try to restore vehicles for my own collection, as it is truly expensive to find pristine replacement parts and after 40 years these brittle toys and intact parts are getting harder and harder and as soon as one asks about Repro and 3D parts it’s a flame war. And I’ve seen 3D guys do amazing things that we wish the toy manufacturers would do but yet they are relegated into the shadows like Darkman. To save our hobby and pass it down to future generations we need to stop gatekeeping and embrace new technologies and the efforts these guys put into the hobby for enjoyment of everyone

But from the safety of their computer, they will try to push their religion on other collectors. 3D printing has provided us with many things as collectors. That I’ll do after this. But it will say you and I collect differently and that’s awesome. I enjoy seeing people enjoy this hobby and that’s why I watch even sometimes when it’s something I don’t collect. I don’t understand those that waste that level of energy. I mean if you get something you thought you’d like and it’s not what you thought, why shouldn’t you speak your mind? I never understood this idea of “don’t talk bad about it even if it’s terrible” some people have. I got crap for a video I did where the figure could’ve stand on its own.
