Jar Jar is often pointed out as what was wrong with the prequels. He was annoying and silly, but he was far from the worst. The stupid midichlorians destroyed something mysterious. Anakin was the worlds stupidest teenager and lacked any self control or self awareness. Obi-wan letting Anakin live (to become Darth Vader), doomed thousands to death or enslavement. But one of the worst of all was in Phantom Menace when the droid army simply collapsed 5 seconds after losing contact with the mothership. THAT was idiotic. The droids were obviously advanced enough that they could follow some reasonable set of orders if they lost communication. What absolute moron would design a mega-billion dollar army of killer robots so that they just 'go dead' if they can't talk to momma? No, never -- there is no explanation that makes that sane. The logical thing would be that they just keep following their last orders, failing that, they could assume a defensive posture. Heck, it'd even be better if they just self destructed.

Star Wars 1-6 was pure Gold and a treasure to the fanbase: Episode 1 - Amazing opening to the prequels that set the stage for Anakin and had fans loving Qui-Gon Gin. Not to mention the set up for Darth Jar Jar. Episode 2 - Amazing continuation that set the stage for the clone wars and helped develop characters that fans grew to love. Episode 3 - arguably the best episode in the franchise. This has great fight scenes, music and played well going into the 4th film Episode 4 - this had great fight scenes and story. This introduced great characters like Luke, Han, and Chewbacca Episode 5 and 6 - two more great continuations that played well into the story and finished the original trilogy off on a great happy note. Now… episodes 7-9 are utterly despicable and shameful to everything George Lucas made episode 7 - this honestly had potential with characters such as General Hux, and Finn. However, it kinda felt like episode 1 and 4 weee mushed together. Episode 8 - Hux LITERALLY became comedic relief after unaliveing millions of people. This story moved nowhere and was utterly pointless. Episode 9 - this is the worst of the films. Wasn’t even about a Skywalker and didn’t even offer the courtesy of letting Ben Unalive Palpitine. Ben had the saddest d*ath of all by giving his life for the most hated character in Star Wars. The tv series have been somewhat okay but have been progressively growing worse. Disney is ruining Star Wars. This is why fans hate and love it. True fans understand the first 6 films and cherish them while hating the sequels and what Disney did to them. Few… I just had to say that.😅

Pretty much nailed it. Episodes 1-3 had their issues (midichlorians, for example), and I don't think meme culture would be half as good without them. Disney took a golden goose and absolutely destroyed it with 2 movies. The Last Jedi split the fanbase, and episode 9 made those who liked and defended TLJ mad. Lucasfilm hasn't dared to actually release a Star Wars movie since.

There is a lot truth here even if it is being mocked. I remember a really old Jim Sterling rant about how only true fans are capable of criticizing the thing they love because they're the ones who know it can be better, rather than just fangasming over everything that comes out because they tied their personalities to liking a franchise. True, it can go too far the other way and you will find people jumping on the hate-train because they've similarly tied their personalities to a separate section of the fanbase, but maybe just, y'know - form your own opinions by actually thinking first and have reasonable discussions about why you like certain aspects and dislike others? And don't join stupid groups built around liking a franchise or go to conventions because that's not where those discussions happen.

what??? ok episode 1 and 2 are meh but 3 is perfect. 4,5 and 6 are really good rouge one is really good too. solo is meh and 7,8 and 9 is the most horrible thing I have ever seen on a screen. and for shows..... i LOVE Clone wars, Bad Batch, rebels (its more meh than the others but still good) Tales of the Jedi, tales of the empire and the mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 were really good. obi wan sucked and did acolyte and it hasn't even have 3 episodes out yet. but thats just my opinion.
