We don't usually make vids like this, but we really enjoyed all the reaction videos people posted last time so we thought we'd share our own! We'll get back to making regular Sawdust Films videos soon.... after we watch the trailer 100 more times =P

No. Travelling through hyperspace is much faster than lightspeed (otherwise, it would take them years to travel across the galaxy, when in fact it typically takes them a couple of minutes or hours at most). Cap285 uh.... ya, i SAID that I used the wrong term, and stated the correct one (before you unnecessarily re-iterated it). Did you even read my comment? But that has nothing to do with your reply that tried to correct me saying "warp speed" by suggesting i should have said "light speed" Where, in fact, both cases (warp drive and hyperdrive) are used for (much) faster-than-light speeds. So the speed isn't (that of) "light" (in addition to it not being called "warp"). I admitted my mistake, pretty sad and pathetic you try to avoid admitting yours.

Star Wars is ageless. I have been watching reactions. Everyone from the high school kids of today to those who saw the originals in the theaters are shaking with excitement. Its wonderful. I cried and had to watch the trailer 3 times. You may disagree, but Star Wars is one of the greatest stories ever told.

This is exactly how I felt...I cried. I felt tears of joy for the amazing things those characters will go through. I also felt sad for everything they've gone through. Imagine how being at the biggest funeral and biggest wedding at the same time. That's how I felt.

Great reaction vid. I really like how you didn't comment at all during the trailer - it was all in your facial expressions. Really emotional. Having seen the film, I think this trailer is amazing. It captures the essence of each character, without giving anything away. And the slow build to the light saber confrontation at the end is masterful. Not to mention the music. Wow. I've seen the movie twice and still watch the trailer now and then. Not because the trailer is better than the movie, but because the movie actually makes the trailer better.

here's the thing, i was never a big star wars fan. I always loved Lord of the Rings more. I grew up in the 90s and i saw star wars as a kid but never really appreciated it until I did a series re-watch recently before EP7. After investing myself in the universe and it lore, i quickly became hooked on everything star wars these past few months. I've watched this trailer countless times and it still always makes my eyes watery :)

Finally saw the film! Loved it. Felt sooo lucky to be back in the universe we know and love. A few thoughts::: SPOILERS AHEAD::: FIRST THING: To the people saying Kylo Ren is weak. You realize he got shot in the gut by chewie's bowcaster which was blowing things apart earlier on in the film. For goodness sake, he was bleeding out in the snow when he went to face Finn and Rey. I'm surprised he was even able to stand much less fight! Not surprised a trained stormtrooper and a woman who proved she could fight earlier on in the film were at LEAST able to hold their own against an injured Kylo Ren. Another thing people have to realize is that this is the first chapter of a larger story. Things WILL be answered. The pieces have been set in this film and I feel they will pay off in episodes 8 and 9. Can't wait to see a fully trained Rey and Kylo kick serious ass! (and as to why Rey is so powerful, we'll find out)

What I think is they're hyping up the idea this is 30+ years after the fall of the Empire, stories that were told about a Jedi are just rumors through-out the galaxy, imagine how many people will be roaring and cheering in the theaters when Luke makes an appearance, and I'm sure its going to be epic when he does. He's not even in the official poster, so it will definitely be bring goose bumps when we see him in his first appearance.

I'm not sure why you would be sad they didn't show Luke. They are intentionally hiding him because he is missing at the beginning of the film and the heroes are on a quest to find him. Not showing him adds to the mystery and will only make it more exciting when we see him for he first time in the cinema. That is a good thing.

This trailer is perfect and should be used as a future example on how to drum up emotion, fun, and intrigue WITHOUT giving away everything. Let the "aura" of a film be the selling point. Star Wars trailers generally have always excelled at that. But great reaction and great post.

Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Finn crash land the Falcon on the snow planet. The Falcon is going really fast, Han slams on the brakes and the Falcon slips by the Starkiller base’s defenses. The ship stops cutting through trees. They sigh in relief. They’re alive. Han Solo is upset about Kylo Ren. Finn consoles him. We then cut back to the Resistance Base. A character called Brance reports to Leia that the Falcon made it. General Organa (Leia) gives the go-ahead for the attack to commence. We then see X-wings departing for their attack run. Poe tells BB-8 to stand by. We see the X-wings flying low and fast. Kylo Ren returns to the Starkiller base brig to find that Rey has slipped away and escaped from his custody. Kylo gets very annoyed and agitated. Han, Chewie, and Finn walk in the snow towards the Starkiller base. Finn opens up about his past to the two. They understand why Finn did what he did. They approach a giant tunnel or exhaust port for the Starkiller base (on the way there they fight some Stormtroopers here and there and Finn uses the lightsaber instead of a blaster). They find an elevator and get in. The Starkiller “superweapon” is then charged up 52% (The First Order recharges the weapon after using it on Korr Sella’s ship and Maz’s castle/pub earlier in the film). Rey is free from her captivity and enters the walls of the fortress. She uses the skills she’s acquired scavenging Star Destroyers on Jakku to jump around and avoid legions of First Order Stormtroopers. She’s totally comfortable doing this and it is an everyday thing for her. The elevator door opens and Han, Chewie, and Finn are looking at Stormtroopers. Their luck has run out. Han charges the Stormtroopers, defeating them. Finn helps by using the Skywalker lightsaber. The codes they hoped to use to shut down the shield defenses of the base have been changed. Han tells Finn he’s going to have to use his lightsaber. Finn doubts himself but Han believes in him and Finn uses the lightsaber and dismantles the shield’s power. Back at the Resistance Base a technician reports to General Organa that the shields are down, the attack can commence. We cut to Poe who orders his fighters to attack. Gorwyn copies Poe and Blue and Red Squadrons go in! TIE fighters and Imperial transports land beside the Falcon wreckage. Stormtroopers investigate and give the all clear that she ship is empty to Kylo Ren. Kylo Ren enters the ship, walks into the cockpit, and sits down it in, remorseful. He is filled with despair. However, the moment is broken by Poe and his X-wings flying overhead towards the Starkiller weapon. Kylo gets up and runs to respond to the attack. General Hux sends TIE fighters to intercept the X-wings approaching the Starkiller weapon. Hux reports the weapon is charged to 71%. Poe calls in where the enemy gun fire is coming from. Nien Nunb calls in his targets. Some X-wings are destroyed by TIEs and others fly with determination towards the target. We see more TIE fighter pilots running for their ships. Meanwhile Gorwyn takes out some TIE fighters while Poe takes care of the guns on the ground. Gliv reports to General Organa that the guns are down. Things are looking up for the Resistance. Above the Starkiller base, there is a quiet before the storm and all is still peaceful. Two Star Destroyers patrol the sky above it. General Hux reports that there’s been an incursion on one of his Star Destroyers. The First Order’s Captain Trilla reports in that all is fine. Then all is not fine. General Organa’s “Sledgehammer” steamrolls through the ship and everything goes sideways as the ship careens out of control. General Hux, down at the Starkiller control room, calls for the array to be activated. Moments before the array is fired, Poe is hit and his X-wing begins to go down while BB-8 works on stabilizing the ship. He sees the array being initiated. The array fires, taking out all First Order and Resistance ships in space. We see shots of TIE fighter pilots and X-wing pilots being killed and screaming in their cockpits as they’re hit and destroyed. Han, Chewie, and Finn make a plan to blow up the base without air support as things looks pretty bad up there. They spot Rey as she pops out of the side of a wall. Rey is touched the group returned for her. Their interaction embarasses Finn. They look up to the sky to see General Organa’s “Sledgehammer” coming apart as the array tears through everything. Gliv reports to Leia that the “Sledgehammer” is lost. Beaten, General Organa calls for the complete withdrawal of Resistance forces. Poe is screaming for his ships to clear out. We then see X-wing pilots saddened to hear they are being called off. Poe argues with General Organa that they can still complete the mission. General Organa breaks the news to Poe that his team is all that is left. Discouraged, Poe turns his ship around. Flying low, he looks down and sees Han and Chewie hustling towards a critical part of the base. Hope is still alive! Meanwhile Kylo Ren heads towards the ramparts of the Starkiller base. We cut back to Poe telling General Organa that Solo and his team are alive! General Organa is elated to hear the news! Han and Chewie head for the ramparts of the base! Rey and Finn jump on a speeder bike following Han and Chewie. They are chased by a Snowtrooper and they take him out. The Starkiller weapon is now charged up to 92%. The technician reports this to General Hux. Han Solo and Chewbacca fight Stormtroopers, defeating them all. Moments later Kylo finds the dead Stormtroopers. One that has not expired tells Kylo that Han Solo is here. Rey and Finn arrive at an entrance at a different part of the base, following Solo. They can’t get in but there’s a giant hatch, Rey uses her free climbing skills to hop up top and open the hatch. Meanwhile, Han and Chewie are dividing their explosives. They begin placing all the charges. They place all the charges and move down to the next level and they do this for some time. Kylo Ren meets up with his Stormtroopers. They open a giant door for him. He looks into an abyss. Kylo senses something is very off down there. Stormtroopers march away, and we see Chewie hiding, having just planted some more charges. As Rey and Finn approach the ramparts of the Starkiller base, the sun sets. General Hux reports that the weapon is now fully charged. General Organa’s war room is quiet. She stands proud, ready to die for what she believes in. Kylo stalks the ramparts. Chewie is still hidden. Han Solo decides to reveal himself. Finn and Rey look down and see the encounter between Han and Kylo. Chewie climbs up and away from Kylo’s field of vision. Kylo Ren murders Han Solo in cold blood. Leia feels what happens and has the wind knocked out of her. Chewie begins to fire his crossbow at Kylo. Stormtroopers spot Finn and Rey and they run but soon can’t run any further. Chewie heroically gets to the button and sets off the charges. Explosions cause havoc and Kylo Ren flees the location. Inside General Hux’s control room, there is pure panic. The system is offline. Meanwhile Kylo Ren enters the forest. Finn chases Kylo into the forest. Their red and blue laser swords clash. Finn holds his own against Kylo as he fights fiercely. However, Kylo disarms Finn, injuring him. Rey picks up the lightsaber and duels Kylo for some time. Back at the control room, young technicians refuse to follow General Hux’s orders. The parade ground of the base below gives way. General Hux reports to Supreme Leader Snoke that all is lost and he has failed. The Starkiller base crumbles and implodes thanks to the charges Han Solo and Chewbacca set. The area is unstable and the side of the mountain where Rey and Finn are fighting Kylo gives way. Kylo is separated from Finn and Rey. His fate is uncertain in the chaos. Rey and Finn hold on to the side of the precipice. The Falcon shows up, piloted by Chewbacca! Chewbacca comes down the ramp of the Falcon, jumps out, and pulls up Rey and Finn with his Wookiee strength, saving the kids. The Falcon flies away as the Starkiller weapon shuts down for good. The Falcon returns to the Resistance Base to crowds cheering for them. C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 take the lightsaber to the map room. There they use it to solve the puzzle. Rey goes to the medical ward and says goodbye to Finn. She has some business to take care of. General Organa and Rey have a fond farewell together. Chewie, Rey, and BB-8 get on the Falcon. To break the tension, Chewie musses Rey’s hair. She smiles. The Falcon takes off. Poe Dameron, General Organa, Finn, and Maz wave as the ship departs for its next adventure. I'm an OG JETI. I saw the first one IV in theaters when it came out at least 3 times. There had been nothing like it before that, ships didn't move in space. U just had stills of the Enterprise with someone drawing lines coming out of it. And VI with a world war 2 type dogfight seen. Exploded our heads off, all done with models and film. Im glad new generations are so looking forward to a world ive watched unfold since the 70's. :)

I love your reaction I felt it wow your so beautiful xx I get it when Oscar Issacs screams reach a pitch merging in to the sound of a massive explosion as if the Falcon is tearing up the ground behind it with a Tie fighter in pursuit. The imagery and music at that point just blows me away. I love the lines from Han once he denounced it as ancient pokey religion and to see him there now talking to the new generation as if legend also leading giving them their first insight in to the jedi xx As for Luke I'm ok with that for now what they have planned I don't know. I can Imagine him coming in at the last minute to save Finn and perhaps Han? Just like Yoda came in last minute to save Obi Wan and Anikin in the prequals. He'll make light work of Kylo but What will happen when he goes up against his Master remains to be seen? I love the lines "Just Let it in". They did show Luke.. He was the one kneeling down touching R2's dome.. Couldnt see his face, but you could see his artificial hand... The glove & the artificial flesh were worn away..

I think they didn't show Luke because he is the Sith Lord there looking at Vader's helmet. He turned to the dark side at the end of episode 6 when he was fighting Palpatine. Palpatine told him to give in to his rage and hatred to fight him AND HE DID.

Don't worry sweetheart. You are going to lose your shit when Luke shows up to save everyone most likely in the 3rd Act To drop a force bomb on the Starkiller base superweapon or whatever he does. It's a smart move on their part they are only making is want to see this movie even more. And it will be that much more grand when we finally get to him.

Luke is actually in the trailer, watch it again and pause where you see R2D2 you'll see a person next to it stick his hand out at it. Notice that the hand is robotic, remember Luke has a robotic hand from Vader cutting it off.
