@@ShyanBinavi I was making a joke of Holdo's statement, which is absurd. The crew of the Raddus is on the brink of mutiny because Holdo won't tell them her plan and she has been very apathetic to the destruction of the Rebel fleet up to this point. I honestly thought she was a First Order spy because of her lack of caring and the fact that she is being so pointlessly obstructive to Po. I understand that as the Admiral, Holdo has the right to dispense or withhold information as she chooses. But her lack of leadership has brought the crew to this point. The movie tries to pretend at the end that she is a martyr and that her decisions make perfect sense but that is NOT supported by what we see onscreen. "Hope is like the Sun" is something you say when you DON'T have a plan.

@@judeanthonygross What were the bombers going to be used FOR if not to destroy the dreadnought? Didn't Leia and Holdo have to approve of this plan? Why does Leia order Po to return to the fleet after Po warns her that the dreadnought is a "fleet killer?" Does Leia not understand that if Po returns to the fleet, the fully-armed and operational dreadnought will simply follow him back to the fleet and wipe it out? The choices Po has here are: destroy the dreadnought now with the forces he had or return to the fleet and everyone gets killed. After Po returns to the fleet and tells Holdo he took out the dreadnought, Holdo says something stupid like, "but at what cost?" Uhhh, exactly the cost you would expect when you send paper-thin bombers against a dreadnought. Did Leia and Holdo's have a better plan to minimize the loss of life? Why didn't they tell this plan to Po? Holdo is so pointlessly obstructive to Po that I honestly thought she was a First Order spy for half the movie. This is VERY poor writing. The movie wants us to think that Po is being hotheaded and impulsive and that is NOT what what is happening, here. Po is doing the best he can, using terrible equipment, while being under enormous pressure to perform.

Oh yes that stupid and pretentious quote, that had nothing to do with Admiral Gender Studies’ plan for the Resistance Fleet, caused a mutiny, and could’ve been avoided by simply telling the plan. Thanks for another reminder for hating Disney canon. I’m going back to 1-6 and the Expanded Universe.
