The first game was a pleasant surprise. I played it about a year or so after release so I did not have to deal with any bugs. I hear a lot of people say they’re tired of Star Wars games centered around Jedi, but this is the first game that ever made me feel like a real Jedi bad ass and got the lightsaber “swordplay” right if you ask me. Really looking forward to this one, though I may wait a week after release just to make sure all the bugs are ironed out first

I just finished Fallen Order this week for the first time and I have to say that besides fast travel and enemy variety, I don't really care about the other changes... I kinda liked how "small" it was. So many games these days have seventy gazillion things to do which is hard when you work 5 days a week xD I hope that it manages to capture the adventurous Star Wars feeling and still feel sort of 'intimate' like the first one. Oh... and the music. I hope the music is as great as the first one :)

Got round to playing Fallen Order very recently. Have to say, the simplicity of the skill tree and the customisation was actually so refreshing compared to the overwhelming options in, for example (as mentioned in the video), God of War. At first, I was disappointed and confused that everything I was finding in loot chests was purely cosmetic but it was actually so liberating to have no pressure to stop and make a strategic decision every time I obtained a new piece of armour, attachment, talisman, skill, upgrade or what-have-you. I could just appreciate that I'd found a collectable and get on with the game.

The file size is also massive on PS5 (147gb) and Series X (140gb), Series S is 44ish gb likely due to lack of 4K textures and assets. I am REALLY hoping it is because the game will be shockingly long and less to do with uncompressed audio and assets, but we shall see. I had to delete several games already to make room on my PS5, extremely fast internet makes this much less painful though. Takes no time to download and reinstall most games.

@@peanutjuice SSD storage does a better job being able to sort through compressed data. File sizes are actually able to be substantially smaller on an SSD. And since this game is tailor made for the new consoles, it can be optimized for SSD storage. As for the Series X and PS5, I'm guessing all those 4K textures and stuff are just super massive.

I can't believe it but this actually looks like Respawn listened and did what the fans wanted, the combat did get a bit boring after a while in the first game. Also the traversal and backtracking were kind of frustrating, so having a faster way to move around with the mounts and added grappling hook looks like it will balance that out. Can't wait to play this one!

I was not expecting a high quality star wars campaign from EA and Respawn. But they absolutely blew my expectations away and from everything we've seen from the trailers it looks like they've expanded and improved almost everything.

I'm weird and dislike fast travel mechanics unless they make sense within the gameworld. So Silt Striders make sense to me but just randomly teleporting (I know it's not just teleporting, of course) wouldn't. I've never fast travelled in Fallout 3, for example, nor in Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Like it doesn't make sense to me, especially how like Ghost of Tsushima works where you had all the stances to your disposal. I hope it's not too much of an hindrance. Watching this again in 2024: Stig Asmussen and his team improved on every great thing about Fallen Order, and did away with the not so great stuff. Game is phenomenal and showcases everything great about Star Wars. Can’t wait for the final game in the trilogy!

Quick correction, High Republic is post-Dark Age, it's after the fall of the Old Republic. The height of the Galactic Republic (and Jedi Order) that we know from the prequel films, with the ongoing books and comics detailing what started to cause the decline to the Republic we saw in Clone Wars and the movies. (Phase 1 is 200 years before TPM, phase 2 is 350 years before, and phase 3 is 199 years. With the new Star Wars: Acolyte series being roughly a 100 years before TPM) Really looking forward to seeing how this new character, and the High Republic era in general ties into Jedi Survivor's story.

Given that the game was delayed by approximately 1 month, the 155gb space on pc seems to be more of an indication that the game could be quite unoptimized upon release, but I'm only hoping that is not the case. 8gb of vram for minimum specs is also quite unnerving, considering the infamous Last of Us Part 1 has minimum specs of only 4gb vram, and we all know just how much vram that game chugs up.

The Xbox file size was for the series S. They released the PS5 and Series X file sizes which are both around 135-145 GB

I hope this is more impressive than the first one. But really... I want something "deeper". In the sense that Star wars has so much more to offer for an RPG than just the story of a lone jedi using a lightsaber and a bit of the force. Bounty hunters, spies ( from both sides) and Star fighter action from different eras. With a lightsaber all the mods are cosmetic only. With blaster, grenades, vibro-blades, Armor, flamethrowers, poison darts/clouds, rockets of all sorts, jetpacks etc you have a lot more options to express yourself. Not to mention all the options a personalized ship could offer. I am glad we get a new Jedi game that will probably be okay-good but I hope other games will dive a lot deeper into the world and offer other perspectives and more locations.

I'm totally gonna rock the cross guard saber and the pistol + single blade. Though, I wonder how they'll transition between those stances. Will Cal carry two sabers and a pistol? If so, YES!

I REALLY hope there is a NG+ and that you can skip cutscenes. Hard to play the first one multiple times whwn you gotta watch the whole story again

Really hope they added the ability to save whenever you want. The first game was great but only being able to save at meditation spots really was a big turn off.

Wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. That's an integral part of the Souls like structure they chose. That being said, I could see that they placed the medidation spots a lot more often and forgiving this time around. Even Elden Ring has learned that most people don't seem to enjoy long boss walks after you die. Frankly, some of the save points in FO were placed really poorly, where you had to backtrack through nothing but empty space and additional loading screens. So I hope they have adressed that.

A number of sites show Series X and Ps5 versions at around 140gbs. Basically, the game is giant and I'm so damn excited

Gear that changes stats as well as looks is one of my least favorite game mechanics. One thing I loved about the first game was how stats didn't matter when collecting ponchos and saber parts. I don't know how many of y'all played Xenoblade Chronicles X, but it had a feature where you could equip your main gear for stats, but you also had the option for cosmetic equipment if you didn't like the look of the stat armor. More games need that feature.

11:40 idk if you saw but actually the sizes for consoles ha been confirmed now, 147gb for ps5 and 139gb for xbox series x and 44gb for series s, this is likely because the series s only runs at 1080p rather than 4k on other platforms meaning no need for them to download any of the high res assests, which is probably whats taking up so much room
