Maybe he will fall, but before falling completely, we finally get the rumored appearance of Ewan McGregors Obi-Wan and HE pulls Cal back, but Cal is more balanced having learned some Dark powers too, but this makes him insanely powerful like Mace was and Cal attacks and nearly kills Sidious, but someone causes him to flee, or die stopping them.

I absolutely love the way that Dagan uses the force with his severed arm, particularly the fact that he moves his torso in a way that seems appropriate for the movements of the lightsaber he's using the force on and stuff.

@@lycandrengr5451 doesn't normally have the same effect with vader since he has robot limbs taking the spot of his severed ones and those robot limbs do all the normal movements living limbs make when he uses the force. whenever vader is shown using the force without a hand it seems like the robot limb is almost always cut at the wrist and the rest of his arm is still making the expected movements. even if he was to use the force without any of his robotic appendages Vader has more of each arm (seemingly severed just above the elbow) than Dagan does for his left (severed right at the shoulder)

I never realised how geographically nervous coruscant made me feel until that opening scene. The planet isn't just a city planet. it's a city on top of a city, on top of several layers of cities going on for...*shudder* how far? If you watch The Mandalorian, an episode takes place on Coruscant. In this episode, there's a piece of a rock that comes out from a platform. What it actually is is the tallest peak on the entire planet and it only comes up maybe 20 feet from the platform. It's like if there were buildings at 50K-100K feet above sea level and all we saw was the peak of Mt. Everest, poking through a platform.

I really liked how Dagan and Santari’s story was parallel to Bode and Cal. Cal even said something like “how could she not know he was going to betray her before it was too late?” And that is just brilliant story telling. I’ve never been caught so off guard by a plot twist before, good god I had to pause the game and scream in anguish.

Bode was a traitor from the beginning. Dagan was sincere all the way through. Technically he didn't betray her he was just delusional and thought that she wil be with him in this. What Cal actually asked in that scene "How she didn't see changes in him". He wondered if his loved ones will see changes in him before it's too late

I definatly loved that Merrin had more screen time. Like she appears as a "sort of" antagonist in the begining of the last game and only joins your team in the last act of the game. The love intrest thing wasn't exactly a new, it's been done to death in most media. I wouldn't have minded if they just remained friends, really, but it was handled quite well. And i am a sucker for good storytelling.

What makes their romance compelling is that Cal, a Jedi, isn’t supposed to form romantic bonds. Him doing so with Merrin without falling to the Dark Side (because of her) speaks to how flawed Jedi dogma is in that regard, and how centuries of Jedi tradition have stood in the way of the happiness and fulfillment a romantic relationship can bring.

Age wise, Cameron could definatly show up in the Mandalorian or Ashoka series. Cal is about 18 in Fallen order and 23 in Jedi Survivor (about 32 during a New hope and 36 during ROTJ) and thus about 41 during Mando (if he's alive that is). Cameron is turning 30 in August.... he could absolutly play Cal in his early 40s with some hint of greyish whiskers and beard in Mando/Ashoka.

At 3:23:46, what should be understood is that Tanalorr is similar to Exegol as both are hidden worlds that require a compass or a wayfinder to get there. Tanalorr is likely a nexus of the Light Side of the Force while Exegol is a nexus of the Dark Side of the Force. The other important thing is that orange-red lightsabers are used by Dark Jedi who turned to the Dark Side but not fully as they still have noble, selfless intentions at heart (ex. Bode wanting to protect his daughter and Degan wanting to create a Light-Side army to cleanse the Galaxy of the Dark Side). This would foreshadow Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati in the Ahsoka tv series as Dark Jedi with noble intentions at heart but are doing things the wrong way.

I sense Bode being a traitor since the beginning but his “ya” when cal said he’d use the planet for the hidden path was a dead giveaway but I didn’t think he’d actually kill people and just be a father doing what he thought necessary. Sucks he had to become such a giant ass bag but my lord did this story surprise me with all the emotion. This storyline can really mean a lot for the future of Star Wars specifically the Jedi, I hope that Disney understands just how good this story is and makes sure to use it for the films/shows. Bode being a traitor (for his own reasons) didn't surprise me. I suspected it pretty early on. But as "positive" as they try to make this story end, you know all paths lead to death and destruction. The best this series can do is is have Cal father a child before his death and Merrin raise two "sisters" in the ways of the sisterhood. Force sensitive but not Jedi. Bode's child being a daughter was chosen that sex for a reason.

I really hope cal doesn’t turn to the dark side but eventually sees the errors of the Jedi way (like he’s already starting to) and accept that there’s some darkness in everyone and sometimes it’s even necessary. It’s not letting it define us, like Merrin said. I saw another commenter say that Merrin wouldn’t be good for helping Cal not fall to the darkness. I think that’s false and that Merrin is the biggest help to him because she knows the darkness well but doesn’t get consumed by it. Instead she had learned to use it to help others and make a difference. She’ll keep Cal on the right path, and if he strays she will have his back.

Yoda in clone wars kinda did it, he faced his darker self and accepted that it's a part of him, while never actually falling. Obi came close to it too, when he lost Satine, but didn't let it consume him either. What I'm trying to say is that while Cal isn't actively, consciously and consistently tapping into the dark side, he's probably fine

Overall I agree - the Dark side is not to be trifled with, and I'm not a huge fan of 'grey Jedi' stuff that is basically about just accepting/embracing the dark side. But we do have to accept it, face it, and deal with it. That said I am so worried about what could become of Cal/Merrin in the next one. (And my goodness I hope they don't just kill her off so Cal will go crazy.)

02:01:00 with the full context of Bode, this scene hits a lot harder, he didn’t want to betray Cal, they truly were close, he saw him as his best friend, but to him Kata’s safety came first and foremost, him trying to get him to only think of his Mantis crew family and namely a romantic future with Merrin was Bode’s was of trying to stop Cal from bringing others to Tanalorr and thus making the planet even remotely unsafe, which he can’t have as that could make Kata even remotely unsafe, after the game there are echoes from Bode’s perspective throughout the events of the game that back this up, Bode didn’t want to betray Cal, and in scenes like this try’s to make it so he doesn’t have to, such a great game

I finished watching it just now and I feel like... wow. I have no words. I am shaking, I feel amazed, this game is better than I expected it to be. I liked "Fallen Order" a lot, but even then I didn't feel those emotions I felt while watching "Survivor" gameplay. In my opinion this part is better than the first one (but I like the first one too, of course). For me it was worth waiting 3,5 years since the first game and after this part of the story I don't know if I am able to wait longer for another one...

That you for putting this all together. It was a very good story. Way better than The Sequel Trilogy. Different writers, different results. The characterization was good; the world-building was excellent...seeing Coruscant in all its Futuristic Urban majesty was something special...it makes me want to see Star Wars: 1313 become a reality even more...Senator Sejan was quite the interesting character...his manner of dress was something that Moff Gideon would respect...THE DRIP is strong with those 2...I hope We see Senator Sejan depicted in The Bad Batch, when he was just starting out as a corrupted politician...I loved the character, Bode Akuna! ...I was so hoping to see him appear in live-action during the time of The New Republic...his demeanor, heroics, outfit, and jetpack were cool...the fact that he was a Former Jedi, made him even cooler...it SUCKED, to find out, in the end, he was a secret agent for The Empire...he being a truly devoted Father, but a cunning deceiver and murderer, makes him all the more tragic...I actually thought there might've been a chance for Bode and Kata living amongst Cal and the other survivors, in spite of his wrong-doing...I have more sympathy for Bode Akuna than I do for Ben Solo...who woulda thought that a character from a video game could be more emotionally engaging than a major character depicted in 3 full-length movies?...really liked the connections that were made with this story, in relation to major events from The High Republic...I guess Marchion Ro managed to thwart The Jedi Order on multiple fronts...I'll view the events of the story taking place 232 years earlier even more powerfully...I liked that I was correct with my hope/theory for how Cal Kestis and his friends could manage to survive to see the era of The New Republic: A special planet, that can't easily be traveled to, and has remained hidden for centuries...if my other theory/hope comes to pass (that Tanalorr's planetary rotation is 2 years longer than many standard planets in the galaxy), it will be possible for a 30-something Cameron Monaghan to portray a 42-year-old Cal Kestis...this way, by the time of The Mandoverse, they can be located by Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine, and Luke...by 20 years later, I wonder how many refugees, Former Separatists, Republic Loyalists, Former Imperials, Rebels, Force-sensitives, Former Padawans, and Former/Current Jedi there might be living there? Hopefully, Tanalorr can be the place that Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker sends a handful of Our favorite Jedi and Force-sensitives, right after the attack on his New Jedi Order Temple, so the belief that The Jedi have all been extinguished from the (known) galaxy, can be seem true. After all, there's gotta be a way/narrative loophole to salvage The SWU, after the craptastic managing, writing, and character depictions We got with Episodes VII thru IX. If that ends up happening, THANK YOU, JEDI: Survivor video game writers! May The Force Be With Us...

My guess is that Cal will be different than a grey Jedi entirely. With the use of a blaster and after everything he's been through he promises to uphold everything his teachers taught him but dies it in his own way, he may pull to the darkside only when needed. Star wars tells us again and again that the force is balanced between sith and Jedi, my theory is Cal will master both the light and dark side of the force. That would be something I'd want to see.

The grey jedi idea is cringe, Lucas said it himself that it's a stupid concept. What would be helpful, however, is understanding for the Jedi, that the darkness is looming in all of us, and teaching padawans to recognize and confront it instead of fearing it or succumbing to it.

Spoilers ahead (although I assume anyone in the comments section already knows everything or is fine with spoilers): My rating of the story: 10/10. One of the best Star Wars stories. Blown away by how fantastic the story of this game is. One of my new favourite pieces of Star Wars storytelling. The characters all felt so real. There was so much emotion. Bode is one of the most complex characters in all of Star Wars, and I love how they make you fall in love with his character just to be heartbroken when he betrays us. In the end, he was a man just trying to do what was best for his daughter, although he went about it the wrong way and made the wrong decision at the end. It had such a perfect story. The plot with Dagan Gera and the stuff from the High Republic era was all awesome, and worked for a game where you go through ancient ruins and uncover secrets. The search for Tanalorr made sense with motivation for both the heroes and villains, who all wanted to hide and escape from the Empire. The themes in this story, especially those of the importance of family - such as how Merrin and Cal didn't want to kill Bode because they didn't want Kata to grow up without a family, like they did - were all so poignant. The characters were all great and better than they were in the first game. Greezy Money was still a legend, Merrin was even cooler than she was before, and Cere was great again. Playing as her for a short bit was cool. But Cal... Cal just became one of my favourite Star Wars characters. I loved him as a more mature Jedi Knight in this game, and his maturity was palpable through his actions. His struggle with the darkness is interesting so far, and has me worried for the next game. Cal and Merrin's relationship felt authentic and I'm so happy they're finally together. All the friendships felt real, too. The brother-like relationship between Bode and Cal had me grinning with their interactions, but now has me more sad than I expected this game could make me. The twists were also all so amazing. I never knew what was going to happen. I thought that once we defeated Rayvis and Dagan, that the story would be over, but then we got the craziest ending in all of Star Wars. Bode betraying us was an insane twist, and him being a fallen Jedi makes it one of the best twists in all of Star Wars. And him killing Cordova was obviously unexpected, I didn't even think he'd be in this game and he was and he was great. RIP to a legend. Vader killing Cere was even more shocking than kill killing Trilla in the first game, and I cried when she died in Cal's arms. RIP to another legend. That whole ending was absurd and incredible, and the final somber scene was so perfect and I prefer it to the happy ending it seemed we would get. The first game ended happily with all the crew making it out, but we weren't so lucky this time. The tone was so perfectly nailed. There were some funny and fun moments, but they just served to add to the tragedy of the ending, which was so serious and where all the loss and the weight of hard decisions was tangible. Bode's turn was similar to a Shakespearean tragedy, in that he knew he was too far gone but his epiphany wasn't enough. It was too late. Bode was my favourite villain in the story, but Rayvis and Dagan were also great. Rayvis was just really cool and seemed to have some sense of what honour is, and he definitely understood loyalty. Dagan was such a dick but a neat and compelling villain with a cool backstory. I think I might prefer Dagan to Trilla, though it's very close. Bode is the best villain in the series so far, though, and it's not even close. Overall, I loved the story and its plot, characters, themes and tone. I have no issues with it, and I think it went above and beyond and is an improvement on the already great story of Fallen Order (the gameplay was also vastly improved in every single way from the first game). I truly think this game is a masterpiece, and the storytelling is expert and flawless. Also, I find it interesting that all of the most important villains of the series so far besides Rayvis - Trilla Suduri, Taron Malicos, Masana Tide, Dagan Gera, and Bode Akuna - are all fallen Jedi. One last thought: as a big Coruscant fan, being able to go around that planet is awesome and super fun, and I liked the opening story on that planet. Cal's short-lived new crew was cool, and bringing back Ninth Sister and FINALLY killing her off was satisfying, as she already escaped death in the 2017 run of the Darrh Vader comics, and in the first game. Third time's a charm. Anyways Perfect story Masterpiece of a game

I'll just say, this series is EVERYTHING the new trilogy should have been. Good well written characters, well written story and actually well thought out plot twists Edit: Was there any moment in the new trilogy that you wanted to cry for a character like when Cal cries for Cere's death? No, becauseCal and Cere unlike the main characters of the sequel fanfic... you actually care about them. Seriously, the ppl who are writing these games should have written the sequel trilogy that i refuse to see as canon. Star wars in general is pretty much dead to me, Jedi survivor is the only SW related product released in a long time that i actually got excited about.

I would agree with you- if I hadn't seen Andor. Everything you said that Star Wars has been lacking since disney took over is completely valid, but well-written characters and storylines are abundant in Andor. If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend it.

I like how the old jedi (for example Dagan) really like to manipulate everything in a fight. The light saber, the force, their hands, a lot of jumping and super jumps, a lot of back turning mid air and lots of flips. But if we compare it to the "new" jedi, its more focus on the lightsaber and their footwork

This is far better than the first game and it really shows you how the imperial empire ruined the lives of so many others outside the Skywalker saga. I will say the main villain reasoning is kinda dumb since they could have joined with Cal instead of being mad he wanted to help the Path by giving them a new hideout. Nonetheless, one more game with Cal! ❤
