I've met people who don't like Star Wars. But NEVER in my entire life, have I met someone who doesn't like John Williams music. EVER, PERIOD. Why? Because his music is simply INCREDIBLE! I could names so many amazing scores by John Williams, Star Wars (1977) The Empire Strikes Back The Return of the Jedi Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Jaws Jurassic Park E.T The Extra Terrestrial Superman The list goes on.
@NeededFourOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Honestly, one score I adore of Williams', apart from Raiders of the Lost Ark, is Saving Pvt. Ryan. A perfect mix of drama & melancholy with a dash of action, for an amazing melodramatic action movie.
@RockyRailroadProductions_B0SS8 жыл бұрын
+NeededFour My personal favorite is still the score to A New Hope. Granted I'm biased as it is my favorite Star Wars film, but the score really made the movie. Although the score for the Indiana Jones films was excellent for different reasons entirely.
@NeededFourOfficial8 жыл бұрын
+RockyRailroad Productions ...Fancy seeing you here. But, I can see your point, and I agree to an extent, but I personally prefer Empire Strikes Back's score. Also. Won't be on any server for a long while, computer's harddrive has kicked the bucket.
@RockyRailroadProductions_B0SS8 жыл бұрын
+NeededFour Ah, that is a shame. I built a 2' gauge battery and a teakettle too. Anyways, I also really enjoyed the Phantom Menace's score, and certain aspects of the film itself (Although there were quite a few terrible, terrible moments that need cleansing from Star Wars canon) Also, you're talking to someone who has meticulously weathered two different Y-wings to look exactly the same, and has a half scale R2 series astromech, you could say I enjoy myself some Star Wars.

@CZghost5 жыл бұрын
Well, if you ever want to watch the original 1977 version again, then there is a Despecialised Edition, which has been released for free for legal owners of Blu-Ray release copy as a response to George Lucas' refuse to re-release the original version for people on Blu-Ray, remastered by a proffessional studio. Instead, various people worked on collecting various sources, some even got to the original 35mm movie strip and made a remaster from there, and put all those sources together to reconstruct the original look and feeling, and of course enhanced the picture to Full HD resolution (pretty much Blu-Ray quality). Not only that, they managed to collect various subtitles and various foreign language dubbings all around the globe, mainly the original dubbings ever made. In Czech Republic, the first dubbing was made in 1992 by the Czech TV (none other has existed yet here), and considering the first changes appeared in 1997? Then this first dubbing is also bound to the original 1977 release, so it's only logical to put this one there...

I think I need to tell a story... I remember walking out the Grauman's Chinese Theatre, after watching the new and almost not advertised "Star Wars: A New Hope", at the age of 23. And I was giggling to myself, and wondering at the awe and majesty that I felt, because of an almost mythological story. The story within the original movie work, was profoundly inspiring. It inspires a whole 'nother generation of those who have the daring to watch that original movie today, for the first time. Even at that time, in 1978, the music had a wistfulness we feel, when we are enchanted by a very old piece of music. It sounds old, and romantic, and adventurous; all at the same time. One could theoretically use it for the original "The Adventures of Robin Hood"-1938. And do just fine! So congratulations to John Williams, now 88-years old. And thank you for a great piece, among many great pieces of music, to permanently ensconce a movie piece of theatre-going tradition forever.

John Williams is so fucking epic, he could shuffle his feet on a linoleum floor, and have it sound better than any other living composer today. He's like the Chuck Norris of composing. John Williams doesn't write songs for Humans HE INVENTED SONIC PERFECTION FOR THE UNIVERSE. God created Man for the sole purpose of them giving birth to John Williams so he could make existence a more perfect, blessed and inspiring place. \m/
