I look at these to rekindle my immense joy of being a kid when these films were first released.

I remember back when I was a little kid, 9 years old to be exact. Star Wars was released. I was enamored with it. Totally fascinated with the worlds, the creatures, species, and other lifeforms. Oh and the ships, I loved the ships. My first two figures were 3CP0 & R2-D2. Then Luke and the Landspeeder. Then Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. Han, Chewie, and Leia were next. I got the Tie Fighter and the X-Wing Fighter and I was in toy heaven. For Christmas the years after the first Christmas when Kenner had nothing ready....oops. Kids went nuts. When the Millennium Falcon came out that was the BIGGIE! BUT THEN THE DEATH STAR!!!! WTH can a kid do? I was given a choice. The Death Star or the Falcon. I chose the Death Star, or I pouted and said I didn't care coz I wanted both? Bratty moment? Whatever or however it happened I got the Death Star and I LOVED IT!! These commercials brought me back to being a 9,10,11, 12 year old kid who loved Star Wars, (STILL DO!) and all of the special memories that I had with these toys and games. Thank you for sharing this with us. My health is bad, really bad. This gave me time to remember and just smile. Thanks for that. God Bless you sir.

Memories, I was 5 when Star Wars first came out and I remember wanting the action figures. I think it was Christmas of 78 or 79 where my dad gave me the little suitcase and all 21 figures and 3 stormtroopers, a landspeeder, an xwing, Darth's TIE, imperial transport, the deathstar playset and dewback. The following Christmas he gave me the millennium falcon, slave 1, yeah that's what we called it back then, twin pod cloud city car, and most of the empire strikes back figures. Never got the ATAT, but by then I was into home computing. He was stingy on the child support but he really did give me great Christmas presents, lol.

You think 45 years ago when this first came out that anyone could have predicted how not only how big this franchise became but also how toxic the fanbase has become?

That's an outdated mentality. I don't think Lucas created Star Wars to be exclusive to white people.

The POTF 2 line in the mid 90s was terrible.
@lamarravery4094 Жыл бұрын
Actually, I was there and I remember we were all into collecting again, it was an exciting time for collectors and the store shelves would be full of Star Wars figures. But yeah, the new TVC figures are way better than the POTF2 figures from the 90s.
