There's hardly a fair comparison to be made here. Andor has 1 season, The Clone Wars has 7. One is a live-action series, the other an animated one. I think people also look back to the Clone Wars with a tad too much nostalgia and forget how it didn't start out as amazing as we all remember. It had a lot of filler episodes, some pretty dull parts, it wasn't taking any risks in the first seasons and just started killing Clones by the dozen to give a more "mature" feeling to the series as it went and a sense of drama. A lot of TCW fans also kinda grew up with the series so they'll always remember it fondly like the best thing ever. I really liked TCW but i didn't got into it immediately, i had to give Season 1 two tried before i started to like it. The characters didn't really shone by their originality and most of them we already knew from the movies. I especially liked the Clone part of it. Andor is very different, and more mature than TCW ever will be. It's not about the amount of on-screen deaths, it's also about the themes of the series, the situations the characters are put in. Andor being live-action also means the acting is really important, and boy did they cast a fantastic set of actors and actresses for the series. There is no hiding behind a 3D render in Andor, so they have to be convincing both through their dialogues and their physical acting. Andor is also a lot more down to earth, showing the fights of the common people and the early Rebels, normal folks with little resources, not fantastic heroes wielding lightsabres and the mystical Force and being able to take down mighty foes. There is a realism in Andor that is absent in most other Star Wars medias. Characters take some decisions, sacrifice things, and do some things that they don't want to do, and it takes a toll on them. They have relatable emotions. I think Andor completely blows anything that was made before it. But i especially think that there is no comparing TCW and Andor. Those two series are too different, are about showing different aspects of the Franchise, different kinds of characters and struggles. There is little ground for comparison.

Filoni's work is a tad repetitive of late, and he's been teasing something for Ahsoka since Rebels s2 (so around since TLJ) with cameos but no payoff. I also suspect him not validating the Legends interpretation of Luke rubbed the wrong way a lot people. Because they still haven't realized that most things about the Jedi they take for granted were never canon outside of C-Canon, and run contrary to Lucas' (and by extension Filoni's) ideas about the Jedi. Ironic, considering the whole point of Ahsoka's cameo in Mando was to show Luke is making reforms.

I don't think people hate Dave Filoni, but as far as i'm concerned, i think it would be a good thing if he refrained from pushing his own stuff and characters forward so much lately. He has a hand in almost every series and media because he's the "saviour" of the Franchise, and in everything he touches, you'll see Ahsoka, some extensive Clone Wars references, entire episodes serving no other purpose than showing why the characters he created are amazing and so much more talented than everyone else ... Take Tales of the Jedi, the episodes about Dooku had depth and moral ambiguity, they were great and explored the character's inner conflict upon betraying the Jedi and losing his former Padawan. Those were amazing. And then you have the episodes about Ahsoka, where there is little to no depth, and it's just about showing how she's exceptional and talented and naturally more gifted than most. Filoni is slowly turning her into a Mary Sue, that's why he should restrain himself. She's already going to have her very own series, she doesn't need to be in every other series as well. Right now all my hopes rest with Tony Gilroy, the new Saviour. It will painful to wait until 2024 for Andor Season 2.

I liked it.... but then no one saw it... so does it even count? Now, the bad stuff. He ruined mandalorian lore, erased Republic Commando lore almost entirely, made Dooku and Grievous look like dipshits who couldn't do anything, needed tons of cameos just to keep the plot interesting, etc.
