@@kmtanner04 do you think it is worth getting both ? I have the first release razor crest (one with grogu )

Great review Kevin! I've got my eye on the Arvala Razor Crest. I like that dirty patchwork version, even thinking of giving it a slight whitewash to represent the severely damaged ship lifting off from the spider cave.

the arvala 7 version is good if you want a more damaged version of the crest

Thanks for this I was hoping to see a review of this version. I got the normal version and kinda prefer that one but they are both amazing! Cannot wait for series 2 to come out!

For sure! I would say the second version is really for those that like the extra character. The standard version is just so iconic already and the proportions are done so well for a toy so small. It is really awesome! I know series 2 looks incredible! I can’t wait…the Gunship is going to be a tough one because I think everyone is going to want to get 5 of them!
@soraisfinallyhere13052 жыл бұрын
@@kmtanner04 I am looking forward to that! I really hope I can get one of the Hera Syndulla’s A-Wing “Chase” from the Rebels Series. I love me some A-wings! I also hope they do a U-Wing from Rouge One in the future bc I don’t think it has been done at this scale either, seems like people are excited about this line so hopefully it is doing well and continues for a while.

@@soraisfinallyhere1305 I agree and hope it does well also. They already have 5 waves planned right now. I am a big rebels fan and can’t wait for Hera AWing and Sabine. I am hoping it continues also. It’s a great line for sure!

So, do you recommend the version with black parts as superior to the totally silver one with baby yoda?
@kmtanner04 Жыл бұрын
Great question. Both have pros and con. I would say if I was only going to have 1 I would pick the standard version. You get Grogu and it just looks more like it does in the show instead of the side panel with the holes in it.

Is one more difficult to find? I didn't realize there were two versions.

Both are currently available. Standard razor crest only available on Amazon. Arvala 7 is starting to go on clearance at Walmarts.

Based on how the plastic "sounds" as you're handling it, I wonder: do these feel more hollow or sturdy? I can't put my finger on it but they seem lighter/flimsier than I would've expected, so I'm curious if that's true or not.
@kmtanner042 жыл бұрын
The plastic is thin but very sturdy. You would need to push it pretty hard to break it. That said there are a number of these items that are slightly more brittle and just flexible. Personally if you haven’t got any I would highly recommend it. Most are very light weight but the scaling is decent and the quality and details are awesome.

Great review. How did you remove the wash?
@kmtanner042 жыл бұрын
91% isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel or qtip. If you check on my channel I made a video on how to do it.
@4shadow8492 жыл бұрын
Why would you want to remove the wash? That's what makes it look like a real movie replica. Star Wars is a "lived in universe". All ships are dirty, grungy and have battle damage marks. No ships in the star wars movies or TV shows are ever "clean" unless it just came off the assembly line or something.
@kmtanner042 жыл бұрын
@@4shadow849 agreed. For some of them I will do a custom wash. Others the details get hidden because the wash pools on some parts and occasionally you get drip marks which don’t look as realisticly grungy like the movies. On a couple ships it’s also tacky and was leaving finger prints (razor crest was one of them).
@kmtanner042 жыл бұрын
@@4shadow849 it’s really all personal preference. For those that like the wash I support keeping it, for those that don’t it can be removed safely.
@_kickingbird_79072 жыл бұрын
@@4shadow849 when did you see the Razor Crest that dirty? I found the original too heavy handed. Like Kevin, I wanted to let the more silvery finish come through

I like it but this whole line as awesome as it is , makes me feel cheated. I’m a child of the 80’s I need my GI JOE sized vehicles and not the Haslab version that was outside the price range of many. That said I hope to see people customize and paint these vehicles and add lights

⭐️ It's not that the Mandalorian figure isn't fully painted, He's supposed to look that way, because this is how the Mandalorian looked in the beginning chapters of season 1 before he purchased all his silver armor. And that's why you get the other one (painted with all silver armor) with the other Amazon release Razor Crest ship. So you can get the way he looked in both seasons, in both outfits. Also, I find it so odd that you don't like the "washes" on most all of these micro ships and have be cleaning them off. I've been collecting star wars since 1977 and over the decades 99% of collectors have done nothing but complain how the ships & toys don't look realistic enough to the movie because in the past they were always "clean" with no weathering, dirt or age look on them and everyone was always going out of their way to buy hobby paint and do heavy dirt washes to their ships & figures. That's what made Star Wars so different then other sci-fi movies & shows back in the 70's & 80's was that everything look dirty, worn & used. That was deliberately done by George Lucas...he called it "a lived in universe" look. None of these ships would ever be "clean" in star wars or in real life unless they just came off the assembly line. So why is it that you don't want them to look like real movie replicas?? Both of these above topics makes me question just how much you know about Star Wars & what kind of fan you are. I'm really surprised you spend so much money collecting all these and doing videos on them when alot of times in your video you don't even know what most accessories or features are officially called. You come across as a really virgin casual star wars fan. Sorry, not trying to be mean, just saying that's the impression you give. Your fandom knowledge just seems very limited.
@kmtanner042 жыл бұрын
It’s not that my intent is to make them clean. Just to clean off the excess wash. I agree I love the lived in feel of Star Wars and plan to customize these ships to how I personally would like them. It’s hard with art forms because everyone likes something different. Like I mentioned, those that love the washes, I love that you want to keep them and totally appreciate it. Those that want to remove the wash, I also love that and appreciate it. I am not one to be totally on one side of the fence or the other but I do appreciate those that are. As for the Star Wars fandom, I am definitely not a super fan and wouldn’t classify myself as one. I just really enjoy this scale of toy and toy history. That said, I certainly appreciate others passion for Star Wars and their knowledge of the mythology and lore of the series. I am always eager to learn more and would glad to learn through the comments on these videos. Thanks again for your comments!
