That part still could be cannon because at the point where Yoda visits Palpitine he makes no mention of Luke or anything else. Only that Palpitine couldn’t win. The scene could indeed still play out the same way but now we have a bit more context. Palpitine could have already known that Yoda was dead but still ask Luke about it as a way to taunt him over the loss of another master in order to coax him to the Dark Side.

Yoda harassing Sidious as a force ghost aside, I do find some irony here, in that: 1) During the thousand years of the sith operating in secret, they were always only 2 of them, no more no less. 2) Once the Jedi order was toppled by the sith, it appears that the jedi operated with a similar role of 2- this being because there were literally only 2 of them left ( Yoda and Luke)- and in the end succeeding as well in defeating the sith. Even when Yoda passed on into the nether realm of the force, leaving only one (Luke), for a brief moment by the end of ROTJ there was again 2 Jedi against the sith. Vader succumbing to Anakin reawakening allowed for this to become possible, as both he and Luke toppled the sith on the second dreaded death star. Turnabout is fair play wouldn't you say?

Actually, now it's quite canon a few other Jedi and Ex-Jedi are running around except Luke and Yoda. Likely Grogu, Ezra Bridger, Cal Kestis, Cere Junda, Quinlan Vos, and definitely Ashoka. I guess we don't know whether Cal, Cere, and Quinlan are still alive by the time of RotJ but Ashoka is. They get 'around' her by saying she's not part of the Jedi order any more. Ezra is MIA (and isn't really a Jedi) and Grogu is not really a Jedi, but a Padawan at best.

I think, unless he talked himself out of it and somehow downplayed what he felt or what he realized about Yoda's mergence with the Force, Sidious would be rather upset that Yoda is now part of the very power Sidious claims to master. He might think that Yoda somehow taints the force as a whole, ignoring the whole light side / dark side duality of the Force. He may consider that any time, from then on, when he pulls on the Force... some aspect of Yoda is part of the Force and therefore part of Sidious' own actions, perhaps diluting or lessening his power in some way. As the Force is infinite, something Sidious could never 'drain away' to nothing, so too would it be impossible for Sidious to harm Yoda or remove Yoda from the Force in the future. Should Yoda return and use any measure of the Force in front of Sidious or upon him... Sidious would realize his former enemy had indeed found eternal life, and had risen above any Sith, including the Emperor himself! This would put Sidious into a rage from which he would not withdraw until he could convince himself that it was all somehow false, that his own power and person were still supreme. His own ego would allow nothing less.

I think when it comes to Force Ghost and whether they know everything that is or will happen, you have to remember that they have one foot in the physical world and another in the netherworld of the Force. So while they probably do have more knowledge and foresight than they did in life, it is still limited and they can't know everything because they are not yet fully one with the Force. So Yoda probably knew Palpatine would fail, but didn't know the details.

I think though if you think about it. Being one with the force as a ghost would make you Omni present. You could appear anywhere in the galaxy in an instance, you can look in on different planets and study what everyone is doing at once. With that ability it would be easy to predict things. While Yoda was visiting palpatine he was simultaneously visiting Luke, the rebel alliance, whoever he wants to be he can be there.

i think as a force ghost they know all but it is the force that determens what they are allowed to tell,not because the force rules over them but because by becoming one with it they realize what to tell and what now because they become one with it again,its like you getting youre fingers back they wont do annything you dont want because there part of you. god works the same way with us when we move on from this reality when we become part of god again we wil know and realize the extent of what to say and what not for the purpose of thre grand plan of god. the reason why dark siders cant do this is because the force wont allow disfunction in itself,there is maybe the exception of darksiders that are more good but stil use the darkside likie mace windu or sith that are not evil.

Windu beat palpatine, save, Vader turning and helping him out, and Yoda had the emperor pretty much under control; but imo, it was just a funky fighting environment, especially for Yoda, where it feels it kinda negated/neutralized his jumping ability some. I still wish Yoda would've gotten a round 2 chance vs him, where he didn't semi underestimate him, and didn't have to hang on to things to fight, as they fought in the Senate chambers. That said, if at worst, I would've either liked to have seen Luke not throw his saber away, and go straight at the emperor, in return of the Jedi, or if at the worst, Anakin do it (have a legit battle vs him). Someone needed to concur him in that way (who's name isn't Rey 😑).

I always dislike when Yoda is said to have lost against Palpatine. Yoda bested Palpatine in each aspect of the fight. Yoda bested Palpatine in force ability, even force lightning. The only reason for a "loss" was that Yoda was thrown to the senate floor. Heck Palpatine was so afraid after the encounter he had his troopers searching everywhere for Yoda.

Sidious was monologuing, gloating, like a child who thought they had won a game. Yoda simply told him stoicly that he cannot win and left him with no ability to coubter the statement nor to toy with the conversation as if Sidious, emperor of the galaxy, wasn't worth Yoda's time. Sidious gets to sit there feeling his enemy all around him knowing that Yoda is now more powerful than Sidious could ever hope to be. Amazing writing in this scene and the dynamic between the two rivals is so telling of their roles to the central conflict of the story.

In the original script of the Return of the Jedi, the force ghosts of Obi-Wan and Yoda confront both Vader and Sidious on the Death Star, contesting each other, whether Luke would stay in the light side or turn to the dark side. The duel still took place between Vader and Luke but when Sidious unleashes force lightning, the ghosts of Yoda and Obi-Wan protect Luke and block the lightning for a time, until it intensifies, Luke pleads with Vader to intervene as in the movie and Vader picks up the Emperor and throws him into the reactor shaft.

This just goes on to make us have more respect for Yoda. Instead of taunting like a badly behaved child as the emperor did, Yoda simply stated a simple fact of foresight in response and left. The bigger person Yoda was, is, and always will be. The emperor is cunning, yes. But his sight is hindered by arrogance. Yoda learned to admit he was wrong in the past. George Lucas had desired to have the Legends novels to be Star Wars canon from the time that he had personally licensed those writers that had first written those books. So with the Star Wars authorities accepting this Legends type sub-plot as Star Wars canon is both understandable and logical.
