I sucked so bad at this level as a kid. Despite that, I really like how the level feels and looks with the asteroids all over the place. Good job on only 4 attempts, I know it probably took me many more than that..

This was a level I remember where there certainly was some extreme pressure to find your way around quickly. That guy freaking out over the intercom didn’t help much either.

I could never find out where those guard towers were on the dark asteroid surface in the second part. So I failed this mission dozens of times as a kid. But once you've got it down, this is one of the easier gold medals in the game. Also: If you suicide into the communication relays, you'll respawn with full bombs. You're allowed one death for gold.

What, the Y-Wing is in no way the equivalent of the A-10, it's an outdated underpowered fighter which seems better suited to being a bomber.

Y-wings are not slow. in the films they have speeds similar to X-wings

Y-wings without X-wing support seems foolish. B-Wings did not exist and under Alliance commander, B-wings only served with Achbar's fleet.

The Y wing is the work horse of the rebel fleet it’s not quick or flashy but it gets the job done its has armor and a strong shield which is good because it never goes anywhere fast.

I love this level for it's creepy atmosphere... but I wish you had more ships to choose from. Why just the Y-Wing? Why not the B-Wing, or Slave I (which is supposed to have ION cannons; also, Slave I needed some major improvements in this game). Way I see it, they should've made it so that you don't need Proton Bombs to destroy the turrets and buildings; just ION cannons to disable the shields, and destroy everything else with whatever you got.

VideoMask93 y wing is fine it’s bombs are devastating for guns and it can take a lot of abuse and repair itself. The b wing would have struggled to deal with all the buildings. The b wing is best for the star destroyer.

The B-Wing would suck at this level. The B-Wing has 12 proton torpedoes, pitiful for this kind of a job.

@@Barrobroadcastmaster That wouldn't be a problem if they allowed you to destroy the buildings with laser cannons instead of relying entirely on Proton Bombs. Any other mission in the game you can rely almost entirely on your lasers.

@@Aurik-Kal-Durin Yes but the B-Wing in this game absolutely sucks. It would've been terrible for this mission. The Y-Wing is awesome in Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 because the lasers are so close together and mounted on the nose, allowing it to be more accurate at longer distances.

For anyone struggling with this level. 1. You only need to take out the gun post things, don't bother with the walking things. 2. If you crash into the floor you'll respawn with 20 bombs again.

How do you drop proton bombs? I press B to go into bombing mode, but I pressed every button trying to drop the bombs. None of them worked. Tapping or holding B just toggles firing more, A always fires blasters. Help!

Press B to go into bombing mode. Your cursor will turn pink and the camera will tilt to looking at the ground. Press B again to drop a bomb. If you are having trouble, play the tutorial mission.

+99thJediWarrior Since this is a Gold Medal run, their deaths can count towards Friendlies Lost. Telling them to retreat gives them the best chances to stay alive.

Maw itself was under whatever the local governor is, Tarkin was just the commander of the Death Star, he might of taken control of the station since the Empire believe in a central command structure.

And yeah, the game still holds up and I wish someone would remaster it and the other three Rogue games (Rogue Squadron, Episode I: Battle for Naboo, and Rebel Strike) because these are the best arcade flight games in the Star Wars Galaxy and they need bigger exposure, dammit.

Because this is a Gold medal run and one of the stats is how many allies survived the mission, which includes your wingmen. They can die offscreen for any number of reasons, so it's best for them to leave the area and minimize casualties.
