Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire - Level 4 - Ord Mantell Junkyard (IG88) - JEDI, 100%

Jedi difficulty, no deaths, all challenge points and extra lives, all ammo, no special ammo used. To be honest, I got lucky on this try.
Played on N64, recorded with Hauppage HD PVR.
In this level, you'll have to fight off enemies while on a train. In the end, you face off with the infamous bounty hunter IG-88.

@@ROMBomb001 Right?! New Disney SW can’t even get the blaster effects right. Too spacey- clean looking blasts with no burns. That’s what I loved about the old movies… the weapons were beat up, and the sounds were rough and dirty. And when a blaster hit a wall, it left a burnt hole with sparks and smoke… felt like primitive weapons with advanced technology that was believable and you felt like “man if that hit me it would hurt like hell”

That fight with IG 88 always stood out to me as one of the few times a game actually made me feel hunted. You can hear him moving around and those frightening noises he makes, and then he's right behind you or he moves. He pretty much hunts you down in that little junk labyrinth like it's his playground for killing. Absolutely love this game, it's great to see people still playing it 20 years later.

I was 12 or so playing this new on N64. I will never forget that terrifying sound. Unlike many other video game levels, there was no resting spot or hiding place; IG-88 would ALWAYS find you.

Yeah, he was terrifying. I found a hidey-hole you can shoot him from when he comes near, but he can't get you with his pulse cannon. I never actually had to fight him fair and square, thank god.

The scripting in this is seriously impressive for it's time. You have to remember this was first generation true 3D on consoles. Most developers were stumbling in the dark just trying to figure out how to use it. Leave it to good old LucasArts to save the day.

Playing this in 1997 on a 19" CRT added to the difficulty. Sometimes I couldn't see IG-88 until he was right next to me. Gaming in 1080P or 4K on a massive screen makes games so much easier IMO.

Games today are trash and are all pay to play smh Even the new generation of gamers are going retro...a simpler time when games could be played and replayed for hours, unlike games today that are all remakes of the same 90s games or are games you can just watch playthrough on youtube and be more or less satisfied.
