One thing you didn't connect is the kid (KB?) to Lobot from _The Empire Strikes Back._ The Fandom says he's really a man and not just an android like Data from Star Trek, though he had a brain injury at some point. I can imagine such implants are used for kids with autism on that planet or in that galaxy (and maybe the visor has something to do with her not liking to look people in the eyes or have them look in her eyes?).

The old republic credit, that they are fully aware of the existence of Jedi and the fact that they don’t seem to be aware of the rest of the galaxy history almost make it sounds like they were “isolated” from the rest of the galaxy since before the rise of the empire… The great work could be Palpatine’s dormant back up plan if order 66 did not work out.
@sandal_thong86318 күн бұрын
That was my thought, that they hid themselves with the rise of the Empire (or even during the Clone Wars), although Charlie mentions references to things after both those events. I have no thoughts on "the great work" yet. Since they seem out of touch with the galaxy, it's probably some local thing of importance to just that world. I figured the testing was just what they did for kids' career tracks like blue vs. white collar, or a throwback to when kids took apprenticeships for their teenage years. I had thought the person in the cockpit at the start of _The Phantom Menace_ was an apprentice navigator or pilot (like Anakin was supposed to have been), but it turned out to be a short woman.

Regarding Sam Witwer being such a massive Star Wars nerd if he has any experience writing producing and directing shows or movies. I’d definitely love to see him create a new series that runs for up to 4-5 seasons or some big movie. Mainly because with him being a major Star Wars lore man and not just another director that’s never read the books from both legends or canon but only has seen the movies. What ever he makes we know won’t dump on the canon and piss fans off like the acolyte did. He being a massive lore nerd anything he makes would be amazing.

2:30 - I'm glad I heard you say that Sm-33 was voiced by Nick Frost, because when I first heard it I thought "hmm... noooo, really? Sounds like him, but..". So I'm very happy to hear that it *actually* is him! If you know anything about his real background, he got into bar fights and acted very much like SM-33 did in this series. I think he even got stitches from being glassed in an [unprovoked] bar fight, but usually he stood up for his friends and punches *for* them, but dished out his share of punches too, again, to help out his weaker/smaller friends.

Check out Prokofiev's Piano Concertos and even Shostakovich's works. Not sure how it relates to star wars lore, but the Russian music of the mid 20th C was influenced a lot by the rapid advancement of film (and film music) at the time, post-world war. I have a feeling I'm really going to love this series. Loved the call backs and deep cuts.

The whistles at the beginning of the jail scene are directly lifted from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

I loved it. Shockingly, so did my 10 year old daughter who has NEVER shown an ounce of interest in SW. Disney knows what they're doing....
