I would also suggest changing the power management to “Combo” it makes it so that you just have to tap square once for rear shields, tap twice for front shields, and hold square to reset. For tie fighters you tap once for engine and twice for weapons. Felt a lot better for me

Very useful. Thanks for that. I also changed the auto-target to ON, and just as you said, it's way better. I'm still trying to figure out the right sensitivity, though - it seems a bit wonky. Another big one I'd recommend if you're flying all the time a TIE Figther or a TIE Interceptor (they have no shields) is to use the "Combo" option to divert power. It makes it so easy instead of using the menu ("Hold" option): single tap = engine, double-tap = weapons, hold = balanced. A real game-changer. Thanks again for the vid, man.

I think the best setting is direct for throttle. It treats the analog stick as a hotas throttle. This basically means that your throttle controls will be exactly like battlefield’s if you know how those are.

I'm playing on the PS4, using the PS4 controller until someday I can find the Hotas 4 at a decent price! My problem is aiming. I keep overshooting the target, basically always seem to go past the target, never being able to get right on target. It's always bobbing up/down, or left/right past the target, then over reacts again when trying to move back. Yet in most videos, I see players able to have a nice, smooth aim at targets, and not struggling like I am. Any tips? Thanks!

I put shield focus and power mode to combo. You can switch shields and power modes by tapping double tap and hold no longer have to move left stick to switch settings makes it super fluid and easy. I also map drift to left trigger to make drifting a smoother process with it on L3 I find myself adjusting throttle or rolling on accident and I never target with trigger

Same. I even tried remapping the controls to be more like AC, but there are just way too many inputs needed, and changing the throttle to the triggers requires getting rid of other inputs elsewhere. I may figure it out eventually

I used to play ace combat 6 a lot and this also threw me for a loop, into debris. There should be a controller scheme you can set to aviator in the controls menu that should feel more familiar maybe. It basically switches the roll and yaw.

For me I found the X, Y and B(Sq, Tri, Cir) buttons weren't good enough to be my face buttons so I turned those into quick-look buttons and that helped immensely.

Hey I'm brand new to the game. (PC) xbox controller and I'm really used to the flight controls from GTA v (way better than this garbage) this would be right stick is pitch and roll (you know like a flight stick) triggers to accelerate and decelerate, bumpers for strafe left and right (like pedals) I really want my primary laser cannons to be A. I like that my power settings are the d-pad that makes sense. I'm thinking hit the left stick left or right would be good for cycling targets..... Alternate weapons x and B and then y for counter measures. What should my other controls be? I don't know what half the things they want me to do are so I'm curious to hear what you guys think.

So I was using steps for throttle and had my deadzone at 0 and sensitivity to 60 like you have it. I was having this issue where I would throttle down and then it would immediately throttle back up automatically. There was really no way for me to set the throttle. It was super frustrating. Took me a while to figure it out. I set my deadzone all the way up to 100 and it fixed the issue.

Here’s another tip. I put my dead zone high for my throttle because when I use the left stick to roll i sometimes hit the throttle by accident and don’t always notice right away cause I’m in VR mode. (Or yaw I forget which one I set my left stick to)

I mean theoretically you do slightly "turn" faster but with less control and accuracy on your aiming reticle. Just play with it until it feels like a good in between for you. BTW shoutout to my new buddy twisted jedi. First time here but definitely not my last! Thanks again. Good luck on 40k 👍
