Star Wars: The Card Game Tutorial

Created in December of 2012. I was responsible for creating the parallax art shots, the card room shots, box shots and the design of the main tutorial board where most of the tutorial takes place.
This was one of the first video where I began building "areas" to showcase the cards and elements of the game. The "areas", such as the room the box is placed in, were created in After Effects.
I animated the majority of the tutorial shots where the V.O. walks the viewers through the game. Very few of the shots were created by my co-worker and boss.
The final edit and sound design were completed by my boss.
Voice Over provided by Keven Brighting.
The music is "The Planets" by Holst.

My friend and i just played (18th March 2024) our first game this evening and it's absolutely brilliant. Having played 80 plus games of Android Netrunner by FFG and someone who enjoys deck building games this is truly a excellent piece of work. So looking forward to our next game this coming Saturday. Well done Eric Lang and team for making such an brilliant LCG.

Fantasy Flight turned the original video to private ... Why ? They even have Rune Age still on their KZbin channel Thanks for preserving this tutorial. It's one of the best Videos ever made for FFGs LCG releases

FFG had to private all of the videos that they no longer produced for IPs that they dont fully own. I am able to post the vids because I made them and they are part of my portfolio.

Hello. If I remember correctly, The Edge of Darkness is just the first big box expansion. You would still need to find a core set of the game.

Hi Ryan, This is Awesome... I see After effects on the Parallax, but how about the cards movement? Is also AE, or is a 3d software?

Hello and Thank You! This entire video was made in Ae. I create faux 3D rooms (boxes) in Ae and then stand up the cards and such, using the camera movements to give the scene "life" so to speak. My rig contains something I call an "Everything Null" which all objects are parented to so I can roll the camera and animate cards while everything stays linked together.
