I saw the original Star Wars as a 7 year old U.K inner city kid in 1978. For me it was the limitless universe, the idea that there was a galaxy with millions of planets, millions of species and technology ready to be explored. Me and my friends used to lay on the garage roof in the summer nights and stare at the stars and make up Star Wars themed stories. Our families were very poor and didnt have lots of money for toys, but we were inspired, so we made our own toys, and making something from nothing is carried into my adult life as an artist. THAT is what Star Wars meant to us - Limitless possibilites, imagination and opportunities. ❤

I remember the first time I even got into Star Wars, my Dad showed me the first three movies from the original trilogy when I was 4 or 5. Ever since then, Luke Skywalker had always been my favorite character out of anything since then. I just found him so, so, SO relatable to me. To me he’s one of my heroes growing up for sure! Then a couple years later The First Star Wars Battlefront dice game came out as a beta, and me and my dad would play it all the time when it was on beta. And I remember when I played on the rebels, I would memorize where the hero tokens would spawn, so I can play my favorite character all the time! Star Wars is a big part of my life…

Thanks to your video, I now know about the Mattel E-Wing! I also really liked the fun shoutouts to Back to the Future and The Rocketeer. As far as Star Wars, goes - to me, Star Wars (1977) represents the best of the best for creativity and ingenuity on film. When that’s paired with Lucas’s self-stated original vision for the film, about “…friendships, honesty, trust, doing the right thing. Living on the light side, avoiding the dark side…” - it’s hard not to fall in love with that.

Finally catching up on these, with my Birthday Vacation and the Olympics and work I haven't had time. So awesome, I hope one day I can attend SDCC. So much stuff, I know I would need to bring a TON of Money. Answer to your question, what got me in to Star Wars was my dad. When it first open on May 25 1977 I believe 12 theaters had it on opening day, because it open on a Wednesday. 32 by Friday. The theater my dad was working at had it in Utah. He tells stories about the line was 12 blocks long. Thats where my passion comes from and I have taken it 10 fold. My prize thing I own is my life size Darth Vader. My costume that had a teacher help me assemble. Almost 501st standers, but got a new helmet and I needed to paint the shoulder armor, other then that its good to go. Thank you for taking us, so much I missed not being there. And Hope you got to see Deadpool and Wolverine by now, it's AMAZING!!! Saw it 4 times on opening day.

I was born in the early 90's so, I grew up with the original trilogy on VHS. I absolutely loved them as a kid. Wanted to be a Jedi so badly. But as I got older, even though I still like Star Wars, the love just kinda faded away. Then, I heard the announcement of The Mandalorian. I was intrigued, then I saw the first official image of him, I wondered why he had a Boba Fett helmet. So I researched A LOT of stuff regarding Mandalorians and I just became absolutely obsessed with The Mandalorian. And that obsession led to being completely obsessed with Boba Fett. I have an entire shelf of Boba Fett and Mandalorian merch: helmets, action figures, comics, graphic novels, Funkos, loads of stuff. I think I'm more of a MAJOR Boba Fett and Mandalorian fan than I am a Star Wars fan. Of course, both are in that universe but Boba Fett and the Mandalorian mean so much to me on a personal level. Sorry for writing a whole essay but I just wanted to describe my fandom and love for The Mandalorian and Boba Fett as best I can.

@@AlwaysBelieve Well, I was totally into TOS - Mr. Spock mostly (yes, I had a crush on him as a teenager). We introduced our daughter to Star Wars completely when she was 12 years old (she insisted on wearing a Darth Vader costume when she was 5 years old in Kindergarten though). She totally fell for it (it went a bit overboard TBH - not great for her school career). For myself, it started when both of my parents had passed away. Then I forced myself to watch The Clone Wars as some kind of therapy, although I usually do not bother with anything I know the end of (yes, I never watched Titanic). I could not binge it in one sitting, and it became more and more difficult towards the end. And I have to say, those silly little filler episodes helped a little enduring it. So I finally understood what Star Wars is all about - family, family problems, all that jazz. So to speak, I found a new appreciation for my own little family. And some great people along the way to be with. And yes, I started cosplaying - in my mid-40ies. Crazy, I know. But it is so much fun! And my daughter will shortly join me in our Mandalorian adventures. So proud of her (she is 19 now).

One of the many problems I had with the Acolyte was that it takes place 100 years before the prequels and the technology is the same. It should have been cruder than it was. Look at how much has changed in the last 100 years in real life and that wasn’t reflected in the show.
@AlwaysBelieve2 ай бұрын
Yea I get ya. Well maybe they are in one of those periods we have had in history too, where there hasn’t been any major jumps in a while, like they figured out alot of things already and they work pretty good, so they haven’t changed much. We currently in our world have these massive jumps with tech now but maybe we get to a point too where it slows a bit. Who knows! But I get what you mean!

I treat star wars like a space history book. That's why I hate evrything Disney that changed parts of the lore because it's like changing history. It was anooying when Lucas did it and it's worse with Disney. Just like with our history I look at the heroes and villains and citizens who experienced it all. So I hate the whole "it's for kids" crap when you see how mature these stories can be. Not just surface level stuff like all the visuals but whata behind them.
