A trailer for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace to celebrate its 25th anniversary. I edited this and made a trailer-style remix of Duel of the Fates specifically for this. I hope you enjoy it!

good edit, cant believe its been 25 years since this came out, i remember i was about 9 years old and my uncle took me to go see it, i remember how big the marketing was for the film at the time because star wars merch was everywhere at the time, i also remember being blown away by the Duel of the fates lightsaber battle at the end. was a truly memorable film.

If you had been around to see the original triology in the cinemas like me and many other people, you would realise that nothing compares to that feeling or those memories. Phantom Menace pales in comparison.

100% same 1993 born , loved this movie more than then anything . Watched the 3 OG movies with my dad about 1 year prior to the phantom menace been released . LOL, I remember when the ORIGINAL trailer for this dropped (with Natalie Portman's real 16 year old voice, not what you heard in the final film). Two minutes and thirty seconds long, and it took me almost two days to download the whole thing :)

If only George had thought of Count Dooku before Episode 1 & had him involved in the film the way Tales of the Jedi portrays him. Less Jar Jar & more Dooku would've made the movie iconic & much more well loved. Christopher Lee would've been like a fallen Alec Guiness character to lead the Trilogy off & his death at the hands of Anakin would've been even more powerful

No. Both the prequels and the sequels suck. We only need four movies to tell the story, Rogue One, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of The Jedi. These four movies tell everything we need to know, from start to finish. Rogue One leads into the original trilogy. Four parts, all great, done.

this is super promising. theres a few cuts that feel too abrupt- the first shot of palpatine at 0:26 and the cut away from amidala at 1:04, and the cut at 1:19. they break the viewer's immersion quite a bit. other than that? your work is incredible. my favorite segment in particular is from 0:52 to 1:03. you really feel anakin pulling the lever, obi wan's kick, and the explosion into palpatine. great work!

All the excitement and the HYPE for this movie and Trilogy 25 years ago…What a time to live and experience Star Wars…. If you were not there to experience it you really missed a great spot in time…. Everyone was so excited.. And now 😑. Over 3/4 of the true fandom despises the sequels and Star Wars in general. I am personally sad. I don’t think it can be saved…. People are just done with the bait and switch. What is so hard about giving 3/4 of the fan base what they want? “The journeys of Luke Skywalker “He’ll yea!!!! More Luke, More Vader, Heir to the Empire. Shadows of the empire. MARA JADE!!! . This was EASY!! So EASYYYYYY. And it was messed up with BILLIONS AND BILLIONS LEFT ON THE TABLE..

What can be said about this movie that hasn't been said to death? This is infamously the worst reviewed installment of the entire Star Wars saga after 25 years It’s crazy to believe it took 16 years to make another film after 'Return of the Jedi' and there was so much hype and excitement surrounding it from both fans and critics George Lucas came back to both write and direct taking the saga back to its origins utilizing the most advanced computer graphics technology as well as expanding the storytelling mythos Viewers would get to see the beginnings of Darth Vader, the Jedi Knights, and the Old Republic introducing new talents such as Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Ahmed Best, Ray Park, and newcomer Jake Llyod Then on opening day...the movie left 'an impression' that's for sure despite making $1.043 billion at the box office So many people were baffled this didn't feel like the Star Wars they grew up with whether it was the bad acting, the stilted dialogue, the wooden performances, the childish potty humor, the bureaucratic discussions, and the inherent racism Most notably the character of Jar Jar Binks was deemed the most hated character in Star Wars history being unfunny to borderline offensive Lloyd unfortunately would also be the subject of ridicule being a terrible actor as Anakin for years to come The pod racing sequence would either get people excited or viewed as being dull going on for an extended period of time given the film's length Even many have voiced their frustration with the concept of Midichlorians able to create life as most were used to the Force itself being a spiritual essence not being fully explained The prequels aren't well beloved like the older trilogy and viewed as taking away from the mythos over explaining like virgin births For all its issues though the film does excel with its action, special effects when it came to the world building, still providing many callbacks to the earlier films, and a flawless score by John Williams himself It stinks that actors like Best would deal with the after effects of the negative feedback nearly contemplating suicide and Lloyd's mental health suffering At least Lucas would get progressively better given the two films that followed and at the time closing the circle of storytelling in this beloved franchise There’s no denying it was more toyetic creating merchandise for kids mainly, more video games, and side stories in tv shows so it wouldn’t be the end of the series altogether No one will ever ignore the subculture of fans' backlash of 'Phantom Menace' even documentaries covering how controversial the phenomenon was That's how the fandom works now as the film’s wonky plot serves as a metaphor; you can complain all you want but at the end of the day it's time to move on

How do you make the worst movie look so good. Edit
