MODERN SONIC (voiced by Roger Craig Smith): Do you remember the Star Wars Trilogy Arcade game for the last 25 years? It was a blast from the past, literally. You could pilot an X-wing, a snow speeder, or even the Millennium Falcon and fight against the Empire in epic space battles. It was released in North America by November 1998, thanks to a collaboration between SEGA and Disney's Lucasfilm Games. It was one of the most immersive and thrilling arcade games of its time, and it still holds up today. I wonder if we can find one somewhere and play it again. What do you say?

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade is being my first Arcade game I can remember in the local amusement of my hometown. I can't believe such a small, insignificant town had such games as nearly the entire library of Sega Model 2 and 3, also some Naomi hardwares. Definitely had a blast back then and my heart breaks it closed years ago, after housing such amazing arcade hits in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Outstanding! I'm in planning stage to build a stand-up version from the ground up using emulation on a pc. Your video shed some great light! I'm seeing here they originally DID use a widescreen monitor. Many mod videos (i.e. Arcade1up) I've seen involve modding using a standard 20" monitor, so this reveals (I had never seen an original Sega model previously) the game was in fact coded for widescreen resolution? This is a great game changer for my planning. Awesome work on the restoration and what a steal!

I'm not sure if it was made for widescreen. He definitely put one in and really it's your only option these days. The Deluxe had a 50" Toshiba rear projection TV. The dimensions of the glass viewing area is 40" wide by 30" high which Pythagorean theorem works out to 50" at 4:3 ratio. I just bought a deluxe shell (no boards or tv) and I'm doing the same to make it run emulation. I'm trying to find the best TV size to put in it now. A de-cased LED 46" tv would be perfect, however LED's go from 43" to 50" nowadays with very few options in between, so finding a 46" is nearly impossible except on the used 2011-2016 LCD market (Sony 46" Bravia for example) and the LCD's weigh about 45-60 pounds vs 20 for an LED. I have a 46" RCA LCD and I de-cased it - is 42½ inches... about an inch wider than I can fit in the deluxe cab screen bezel! I'm still going to see if I can somehow shave ½" off each side of the inner metal casing to fit it in, otherwise I'm stuck with a 42" or 43" max size.

I love how he takes a dig at the seller for holding firm at $600 for this. That's nothing when this machine in excellent condition would easily be $4k. And then he claims it was in "throw in the garbage condition" (which is most likely what he told the seller to try and get it for half of the asking price), but then he only had to invest another $250 to get it cleaned up and playable. Hell, he even ADDED speakers and led lights to it. This guy got off lucky, if you ask me.

Excellent restoration and mod of the cab! Love the Millennium Falcon cockpit backdrop too (just saw that on Oriental Trading Co for sale). So SW Trilogy is 25 years old. Why can't I find production numbers from Sega for how many Stand-up, Deluxe Seat, and Deluxe Bench models were made? And I wonder how many Deluxe models still have the original 50" Toshiba rear projection working.

I thought it was 4:3 and 2.1. How does the video become 16:9 and sound 4.1? Supermodel allows for widescreen, not great for this game though

The widescreen is actually pretty legit, you just have to get a converter to convert the game VGA to the LCD and then you can adjust the horizontal and vertical settings it's hardly noticeable

I have this same cabinet. I sent the board for repairs to Sega since I got it back the force feedback is not working. Do you know of anyone who can suggest some testing I can do. Sega claims they tested it and it was working on their end. Just want to make sure it’s not a problem on my end.
