The most I had was the AT-ST and the x-wing plus a few figures. I remember collecting Kellogg's tokens and sent off for the Emperor figure. It wasn't available in shops at the time. Ah good times...

"Impressive, most impressive" As I was born in 79, I only caught the end of Star Wars toys. Best comparison I can say is with MASK, I got Boulder Hill, Rhino & a few others all for one Xmas! I was shocked to see Boulder Hill under the tree, as my Dad had said it was way too big to be in our house. It's now in my garage, awaiting the day I clear the crap away to get to it.

I got mine for Christmas as a surprise gift. My parents told me they couldn't find it but I had enough in Christmas money to buy one later on and my folks and I were enjoying our gifts and my dad asked if I'd like a Coca-Cola since he was gonna grab one for himself and of course I said sure and as he came waking back into the room he had the AT-AT in his arms with my Coca-cola, I remember being so excited. Unfortunately the box got damaged over the years. It was Definitely the best surprise Christmas gift I ever recieved and made a lot of fun memories including my attempt at a stop motion animation film with the AT-AT lol. Thanks for sharing this 😊

Aaron DeBene. Back then toy companies actually cared to give us kids quality Star Wars toys, with electronic sounds and flashing lights on almost all of the vehicles and ships, not the overpriced cheap plastic pieces of crap Hasbro/Disney make nowadays.

I still remember the Xmas when I got one of these. I was getting ready for school and my uniform always used to be on the back of the sofa. I remember I couldn't find couldn't find my socks of all things, so looked behind the sofa to see if they had fell down... Low and behold there it was, one AT-AT box sitting there waiting (looking back, not sure why my parents didn't put it behind there after wrapping but hey). I still have it by the way, missing the pulsating guns and control room top, but still have the side guns and door. Still have my Millennium Falcon & Slave 1 too, but the Ewock Village, AT-ST, Speeder Bike, Rebel Transporter, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Tie Interceptor, Jabba, ST-AT, B-Wing and Snow Speeder all seem to be missing or berried in my parents store room.

Yup I remember getting this for xmas around 83 or so. I got a whole shit ton I think about 23 figures, a x-wing and this. I already had the Falcon. I never had a lot of the little toys like the vehicle with the steam roller like wheel's. Yup it came with a shit ton of extra stuff. I turned my at at legs into a warhammer 40k scale reaver titan around 92 or 93. My brother put it back together and we sold all my old SW toys around 98 or 99.... Great video, thanks for the walk down memory lane. heh my guns broke and my mom had to use her hot glue gun to stick the gun barrels back on.

This is a really cool toy. I just got my mom one of these, she cried tears of joy when I gave it to her. She wanted one so badly when she was a kid and she told me she was denied it because she was a girl and girls shouldn’t have something like this. The one I got her has seen better days, but it’s mostly there, and she loves it. Got one for myself too, looks great in my collection

I wanted an AT-AT starting at age 6 and finally got one on my 18th birthday as a tongue in cheek gift. Better late than never! I'm not sure why I thought it was cool...maybe because it resembled a pet dog? Actually, it might have been the most expensive Star Wars toy ($50 in my neck of the woods), so it was quite the coveted prize for playground boasting. Millennium Falcon was actually a much cooler toy. Probably the best Star Wars toy. I was fond of the Dagabah play set as well.

JP SixgunElectric in my country that's $279.93 in today's money........and that's not including import duties, frieght, Value Added Tax and overhead. WOW!!! In 1983, the exchange rate would have been maybe $2.00TT to $1.00 US, so it would have been a tad cheaper then.

The AT-AT Commander you showed for scale was the first figure I ever owned. Unfortunately though, due to it's hefty price, I never had the AT-AT. I think it was like 30-odd quid, wasn't it? A fortune back in the early 80s! Sadly, the Millennium Falcon was seemingly out of my mum's budget too. I did get an AT-ST and Vader's TIE Fighter though.

The front cabin was the weakness of this toy as the one from the movie showed the AT-AT commander standing behind the drivers. Later versions of this vehicle fixed that issue. great review luke, that's really brought alot of memory's flooding back with playing with my atat when i was little, your so right in saying it was a great toy, as i've said before my starwars toy's are hiding in my loft space but i will get them out and show them off one day! one thing i'd add is my one came from a catalogue and never had the box like your's just a plain brown box, weird isn't it? kenner must have run out i suppose?

Bits and bats mate, whatever I see that takes my fancy. Mostly LEGO oddly, Original Trilogy stuff. Though I am thinking of getting the LEGO Battle Droid dropship type thing.

I got one from a jumble sale as a kid and used to play with it all the time in the sand pit. Never had the guns on the front though :(

actionjackman Ah, this was the '80s, long before everyone getting greedy and sticking them on eBay Etc. Old stuff either went in the bin, the jumble sale or a black bag out the front of Oxfam :D

When I was younger I only had one figure to put in my rebel troop transport ship...it was a lonely place to be :0) I love the size of the AT-AT, I might see if Stuart will sell me his for a low price :0)

Holy crap it's COLOSSAL! I would have died if I'd had this back in the day (I was one year old in 1983; it would have crushed me). Look at all those Snowtroopers, it makes up for the lone one you had as a kid lol! Great vid - bet you had fun doing it! :-D
