Nice game. Although it was too bad Stephen didn't use Chromium more. It kinda just became a Scarab God deck. I don't blame him for going the Esper reanimate/goodstuff route, but still it would've been nice to see how he would use the commander more instead of just the colours.

worldthroughabucket Yea but its 7 mana, plus commander tax, in a deck without green. At 9 or 11 mana, there are almodt definately better options for your mana

Yeah, I get it. But those are the inherent flaws of Chromium. So why make a deck with him if you're just going to ignore him? I get that they all had to pick an elder dragon and maybe Stephen drew the short straw, but to see them just make decks that don't utilize the commander makes it boring. This deck could've worked practically the same if something like Sen Triplets or Merieke was the commander. I was just hoping to see how he could make Chromium work instead of ignoring him.

You only pick a commander for the colours? I guess if you play competitive, but most players I know pick a commander for the strategy. Bc if you just want an esper deck why pick Chromium when you can get Zur or Oloro if you never plan on casting your commander anyways? And he barely used it as a discard outlet. Most cards were already in the grave bc they were either destroyed or countered and most of the discard came from excess cards from the sphinx anyways.

I play commander by doing what i like most in magic, pick the colors I like best, then picking a commander from those colors that helps the strategy the most. And like i said its 7 mana, and no green ramp, so he has to draw into artifacts and lands. And when Justin, and Jeremy (to a point) are also playing control it makes it difficult to make casting an 11 mana 7/7 that just dies before the turn rotates back to him.

Jeremy didn’t change his cast die on Vaevictus at least twice. The third time he cast it (when Stephen cast utter end) he didn’t even have mana to cast. But since he never moved the die, it seemed like he did

Ryan Skolnick He wasn't casting it from the command zone, so commander tax doesn't apply. Command beacon puts it from the command zone into his hand.

DeusAsmoth I know it wouldn’t count, but he was casting from command zone. When it got bounced to hand, he ended up discarding to Bolas and putting it back in command zone. Then he cast again, Stephen swords to plowshares it. Then he cast it (wrongly) Stephen utter ends it. And he still didn’t move the counter up from 2
