Lowko's pronunciation is correct: It is Hard Lead. Lead the noun meaning the kind of material that pencils used to be made of, not lead the verb meaning to direct or to go in front of.

I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding Ravens. Especially after their rework that made them cheaper but less powerful, makes them much easier to include in your armies. Their spells are great of course but even just using them like Overseers is already worth it as it saves you so many scans...

OH NO! Dark totally could have won the last game, Olli had lots of medivacs but only 8 marines, a marauder and a ghost. Dark still had 5 lurkers, but he saw all the medivacs and I guess he assumed they had units in them.

He couldn't have won, his only mining base is under siege and there is a tank, a group of marines and still 2 ghosts left. Dark only have 5 Lurkers and 1 Hydra left. He can never out maneuver the Terran units. Lurkers without support cannot do anything much. Not to mention Oliveira is still mining, 8 SCVs with mules and has 3 ghosts in production while Dark couldn't mine and only have 3 Hydras in production. Dark has no chance if he cannot win in the next min or so by destroying the Terran units and preserve his last mining base. But given that 3 of his Lurkers are bruised, he could easily lose at least 2 of them immediately by a Tank shot or a snipe. Even if Oliveira fked up and lose his units, Dark is still not going to be ahead, because he only has 2 bases with no queens. He cannot outproduce Oli and his last mining base will be oversaturated, so he technically will have only less than half the workers effectively mining.

@@skychaos87dark had like as many lurkers as olivera had fighting units. Remember he can still use the drones to fight while mules can’t. Dark had a chance for sure.

@@Name-ru1kt Dark only had 5 lurkers and 1 hydra. Terran had 2 ghosts, 1 marauder, 8 marines, 1 tank and a ton of medivacs. With micro zerg has no chance. Oli can snipe a few lurkers before they burrow and kite the drones while the tank shell at anything in range. One of the lurker is literally one hot away from death. At most Dark can send the drones in to cover the lurkers allowing them to burrow close enough to reach the tank. But doing so Oli would snipe a lurker or hydra and massacre a tone of drones before the tank goes down and then pickup the remaining units. Even if there are enough drones left to saturate the mining base it doesn't matter, Oli can wait for energy to regen to scan and snipe the lurkers or send the units into the main and slowly clear all the structures. Dark cannot out maneuver the more mobile terran units. In the long run Terran will out mine and out produce Zerg while keeping the zerg busy with constant drop plays.

Lowko i agree with your comments on Serral and Neurosurgery. He could be an amazing ER specialist with that APM. I chose Psychiatry because i have 70 APM but still happy with a match history full of loses lol.

in The Settlers II, u needed paths for ur units to be able to walk from building to building. In Warcraft I, ur buildings needed to be built at a street or so.

Pretty sure terrans make the armory for hellbats with the "+1+1,stim pack, combat shield timing attack" then start +2+2 after the attack. At least that's my interpretation of the slow upgrades for terran.

The difference between Dark and Serral is that Dark plays defensively while Serral plays recklessly but with utmost precision so you're right he would make an excellent brain surgeon.

If I remember Warcraft 1 had required you to build roads to each building to beable to build such buildings. Units I do believe moved faster on these, makes sense since it worked as a road.

I feel like burrow is an underutilized mechanic: the pressure it creates, the extra couple seconds of annoyance, drawing out scans, vision, blocking bases. I think pros could do a lot more with it.

Towards the end I feel like Dark just had to group up, get out as much as he possibly could and smash the terran army. Even if he had basically nothing left, he still had workers for awhile there and Oli had literally 50 minerals. Failing that, securing the base at five oclock right next to the terran would have probably paid off.

They help get your armies from city to city in the campaign map and improve trade so lots of people carry on about them a whole lot more then strictly needed. The actual RTS combat has nothing to do with actual paths. Just pathfinding lol

Well, you know, starcraft 2 is technically a dead game because you get matched with the same guy 5 times in a row ? I lost to this player the first game, then proceeded to get matched with them 5 more times, and either I left or he left at the start of the game. And guess what, it doesn't happen rarely. It happens way more often than it should If this game is still alive, I am allowed to expect to match with different players, am I not ?

The reason they dont build the raven is because it's an expensive paper plane. It's got one of the worst acceleration rate for a flying spellcaster (2,8 vs 4,2 for viper and oracle) which makes it less microable and even more vulnerable

While I agree on the acceleration, every scan that you use to deal with creep spread could be mules instead. This leads to more than 200 minerals worth of extra mining time as opportunity costs per scan. I think it all comes down to Ravens feeling awkwardly slow compared to the rest of the units. They make controlling your army just a lot harder with the amount of babysitting they require.

@@AngelusMortis6000 As a matter of fact, the raven's speed is not especially slow. It's on par with many other air unit such as viper (both 4,13) but its low acceleration rate makes it slow and less responsive. That plays directly on their survivability which is directly linked to their cost-efficiency. And its a 100/150 down the drain if it doesnt pay for itself. (plus the time investment to build it which could have been used to build something else).

here is the thing with dark. he is leagues below serral. its amazing how many times he was close to winning only to make a huge mistake here and there. like he went roaches and then ultras. had the game in the bag but then lost it. it wasnt until the damage was done that he decided to get some anti air... got ran around with all the drops.
