Normally I like to play REALLY slow, but somewhat loosely following this guide made the collect 6k minerals bit a bit of a joke on brutal! Thank you! (After the timer was removed I proceeded to mine out the map before nuking Orland into oblivion with 20 spectres and a floating command center).

Your Orbital CC's MULEs and Scan would have made this mission much easier. Important to note that MULEs won't negate the hard achievement, and can be handy to grab scrap minerals and gas pellets in guarded areas (just call them down right next to them). They cost nothing so they're entirely expendable. Also, if you have access to siege tanks, and the enemy bases are on the high ground, there's no reason not to use scanner sweep. Siege tanks have an attack range of 13, but a sight of 11. Without ghosts/spectres for forward observers, or flying units other than slow moving buildings, SCAN makes the tanks a bit overpowered for hammering the high ground...same goes for allowing ghosts to nuke the high ground they can't otherwise see.

How I won this mission on brutal, the noob 20IQ way: spend every single mineral on the army and take everything down except their main base because it's hard to siege it. Place bunkers/army all around their base so he can't escape and harass you. Wait until junkyards automatically produce minerals and collect them (it takes forever).

First part I finished with 3 cloaked ghosts and 12 ghosts for second part
