It was probably just a matter of duality honestly, Narud is a master manipulator, evidenced in Brood War. Provide a facade of stealing the artifacts from the people keeping it to achieve the end goals that Valerian desired without showing his own true colors to resurrect his dead master. That is master deception in my book.

This assuming what Alarak said about the Tal'Darim is true, that they broke away during the Aeon of Strife and swore allegiance to Amon in exchange for power.

Kerrigan was after the articacts too, and the idea was to strip Kerrigan off her powers and then kill her, that's why Mengks put Tychus Findlay there. All was a plot to remove the threat to Amos, and also to revive him. If Raynor wasn't hired to find the artifact pieces, Kerrigan likely would have and Amos would never have been revived. My theory at least.

13:47 Stukov said several Hybrid were on their way, but only two turned up. I wouldn't call that "several". Also, I find it funny that Narud tells us that his Protoss are going to attack our Hive. Did he have to tell the world? It makes the moves of the Protoss rather predictable.

The station is only the main hybrid lab, there are also other smaller labs and from the files i found Mengsk had a line he said: you remember this don't you Kerrigan on korhal!

Actually, if I remember right, there are actually two factions of Tal'darim; the legitimate, ancient Xel'naga worshipping fanatics, and THAT'S who we were fighting in Wings of Liberty. These guys are actually the group Ulrezaj created in the novels that are basically, IIRC, brainwashed to follow Amon. Ulrezaj just used the name. This is all just me working on memory, though.

Well not only that, but there's also "Tal'darim" on Aiur, who were some of the survivers after the Khalai escaped to Shakuras. There's all sorts of different types of "Tal'darim". It seems that the name is used more to refer to Protoss who are not part of the Protoss Protectorate, rather than a specific group with specific beliefs and technology.

Infest Broodling is really funny to use with apocalipse, since everything you kill will spawn a ton of broodlings. Not good, but fun. For the whole Amon/Narud plot, I can't really remember how I was feeling before knowing the full story, it's been so long, but it's not like it's coming out of nowhere, at least in my opinion.

a couple of infestors in your army will add the winning detail for this mission. i had 2-3 of them and took control of heavy enemy units, colossi etc. and can make a difference

Or just build a lot of lings and let then go first to make enemy agro to lings, then move ultralisk to clear the rest. Ling is cheap and easy to replenish.

Ultralisks with anti-air would just be OP. Seriously, with the damage a hydra does to air with those tiny neck spines, what could an Ultra do? Hell, maybe it wouldn't even use its spines, maybe its got a symbiotic relationship with Scourge or something...a walking Scourge nest.

Duran was in sc1 he shapeshifted into a terran and let himself be infested to manipulate kerrigan from the inside to bring back his master amon and in wings of liberty he hints to raynor that the artifact pieces hes been collecting when assembled can cleanse kerrigan from being zerg but they dont know that it also collects psionic energy so between heart of the swarm and wings of liberty he revived amon

Amon, he has infinite armies of void shades, the UED does not. Even if one UED basic soldier could kill 1000 void shades with tech advantage, there would be 1000 more in seconds. And even if UED killed amon irl he just respawns, and an assault on the void is impossible without a xelnaga. Unless UED can survive the void energies amon wins hands down

I think my biggest problem with this is the emotional crux of the cut scene is kinda cheesy, and honestly... dumb. "Am am everything you you have lost"? Who the Eff are you Naruduran? You are a goddamned energy monster changeling, you are an ancient creature manipulating events to bring about a race of monsters, that is what is interesting about you, not the lost innocents of a woman caught in the crossfire of all the universe's shit only to come out of it a powerful player in the balance of power. But I do like the ominous "Amon is coming," I think Amon could have benefited from more little ominous moments, mores "A storm is coming" stuff. On a positive note I do hope we can see the EUD return, I love those guys.

i hate this mission, not because of all the stuff you said, but because of how hard it is for me, and also yeah i thought Null zone was a lame name, maybe something like energy wave, or Psi wave woulda been better, Murder wave woulda been cool but thats a street fighters thing and thus a capcom thing

Actually its easy for me. I make a lot of lings and always move them first, then bane and ultralisk and then mutalisk. Lings are cheap and easy to replenish.

The hybrid(hots) are so weak/nerfed. Hybrid reavers have 1000 hp, 2 armor and do 48 damage X2 attacks +5 per upgrade = to 126-2 per target's armor. The hybrids(hots) has 1250(normal)/2000(brutal) while dominators have 2000(normal)/2500(brutal) and do 15 vs armored 30 and structure 35 AOE, but its AA is 50+5 per upgrade, total 65 with AOE. Beside that, it's abilities: consume DNA originally do 200 damage now it does 100 and restores 50 hp. Constricting slime only do 10 damage. In LOTV trailer a hybrid was clearly OPing Kerrigan. Why they'll so weak here? Hope blizzard make them what they truly are in lotv.

I hated this mission - all of it: thematically and mechanically. The idea of Kerrigan and Narud/Duran having a literal energy beam tug-of-war is just incredibly stupid and doesn't fit in the Starcraft setting _at all_ . On the mechanical side, the fact that Kerrigan doesn't overpower Narud as soon as you destroy one temple just doesn't make sense. If she's strong enough to hold him off when he's being pumped up by all five of them, then it stands to reason that she should win this contest as soon as you destroyed one or two, _maybe_ three. It doesn't make sense that you have to destroy all of them.

I 100% agree on the story, a dbz battle has no place here. Only good part of this is that it sets up narud's true loyalties for lotv. The temple bit i disagree with because (atleast on harder difficulties) kerri is slowly losing before u kill some of the temples
