On some maps it's very difficult to engage the opposing player in a macro game, and in some scenarios it's better to just simply choose not to.
In this video I play live game of StarCraft 2 on one of those maps. I play extremely safe, just to make sure I don't randomly get killed by a properly placed Widow Mine or Siege Tank.

I think he went through it before. Yes he moves the screen rapidly, I tend to do that now too. And no he uses grid hotkeys, there should be a setting says specifically "grid hotkeys".

Same here, I kinda started in the middle when he started to become good. Didn't subscribe him because he has such a high pitch voice... But he is so happy all the time, I tend to watch his video back and forth when I'm down (lose to games etc.), or just trying to get a happy vibe for my day. Good and happy guy, and I grow to like him :P

I wish more people would do things like this. Actively talking out what they are thinking the opponent is doing and how they are countering, and the mindset of the game as it happens. I've wished people would do this for years in certain games. It really helps. Keep up the good work!!!!

With mech you can still play Muta Ling Bane but often times you will have to switch into Roaches/Vipers and what not after the initial Mutas come out. Ultras are still very good though. It really depends on the game.

Will it be worth it to upgrade an overlord to a droplord and put a queen inside so that I can plant a creep tumor at every possible base the opponent might take? That'll save some overlords from dying and also will waste scans.

What's the social hierarchy of Zerg? Queen>overlords>ultras>muta>.......>blings>drones?

mthlay15 Starcraft 2: Broodmother-Overlords-Queens-all other Zerg. Starcraft 1: Overmind/Queen of Blades (Brood Wars)-Cerebrates-Overlords-Queens-all other zerg All zerg forms beneath Queen are just specialized drones with different functions and capabilities but still basically wild animals only kept in line by the Hive Mind. Queens do overpower Overlords for control when there is not an higher level of control over them, but in general, Overlords are the direct link between the Swarm and it's handler, not the Queens.

I have been trying that or Ultras. So far ive had the most success just doing corruptors and massive bane waves followed up by fully upgraded lings. But still if the tanks take out too many of my banes gg. Either way Terrans are kinda scary which upsets me because I used to be terran until a couple months ago when I made the switch to zerg because I find lowkos videos very informative. I went from high silver/low gold to high gold. I am trying to break the hump and get into platt but at this low level there are so many unorthodox builds I run into its hard to find counters for them all. For instance last week a terran went mass ravens. It was the most annoying build ive come across so far. Nothing I tried could beat them because he had the upgraded turrets, and those missiles they shoot. In large engagements I could take out about half of his army but then he would turtle up till he could rebuild. And all of his bases were fortress's so my lings weren't able to take any out. I realize what I should have done now but at the time it caught me completely off guard.

If it's any comfort, I have struggled against zerg also. So the pain is both ways :D Recently went up to diamond league. The zergs are usually good, only very few times would my early aggresive play pay off (since I want to avoid late game against zerg, same goes for toss hehe).

check out some games from Snute. He goes ravagers, ultras, infestors, lings and blings. Ravagers take out liberators. Infestors fungal growth hold the bio in place, ultras and banglings kill everything on the ground.

I think the very first terran attack on 5:30 point make the half of the game. If defending it without Noticable losses, zerg can win. if Terran snowball the first 16marines, then tank or mines, and then some liberator, zerg basically just bullied.

What do you recommend in ZvT, if terran decides to go for a hellion/cyclone based army? I was economically totally ahead, but somehow I couldn't get his army. With this hit'n'run strategy he managed it to deal with all of my army compositions except infestors and swarmhosts which I didn't try out since I never really use them :/

CJ Sheu Just for fun and spamming the APM (actions per minute). Lots of players do that. Unfortunately Blizzard know about it and set the APM count differently: must follow or actually complete a command to be counted as an APM. Ex: all the selecting all over the Drones wont be counted as an Action because they were not given any command such as attack, move, build ...

I'm glad you enjoy this style of play and that it works for you, but it really is quite unenterprising. what happens if your opponent gets a successful harass off and you lose 4 or 5 drones? Would you be willing to 'take risks' then, or would you continue playing passively?

He said in a previous video that any good player facing such an attack would notice it in time to reduce the damage from it to the extent that it would be more of a loss for the zerg actually. It just looks good if it's used against a bad player or if you're just lucky then against a good one.

I switch through my bases with the backspace key, rehotkeyed to my space bar, so I just hit my space bar, box my queens and hit injects, but hitting space bar randomly switches to bases so i can never hit a key to go directly to one base. it is really that limiting? I can find my bases quite easily, i can tell them apart from what i have built on them.

Did You try to queue up your injects with the brood mother. The thing is if Your brood mother has lets say 200 mana points and queue up with injections, the hive or whats so ever will "automaticly" spawn larvas. I hope i could help with that.

True, but the larva injecting queens should never get 200 energy, because that means you missed several injects in the first place. It also only stacks to 3 (I think).

16 marine drop is all about Bjorn micro, shoot heal and run and don't lose marines since Terran can heal. If Terran do not do early or mid damage, guarantee to lose. TvZ put the terrans on offence otherwise creeps take over map

Starcraft is dying because the game is extremely bad for new players. People are just too good nowadays so even on lower ranks it's still super hard. This game moved from casual/fun to people training 24/7 like it's the olympics or something, that's why i quit playing long ago but like to watch others do their craziness.

Even though I've lost millions of times, although I've played since the beginning, I feel that it's still fun as soon as you get used to playing 1v1 and don't take it too badly or become to nervous or so. It's just a game, don't take it too seriously and try to just learn the game and improve. Make sure to check replays, copy others play styles.

wowJhil Not everyone enjoy losing everyday all the time and at the level the game is played right now even bronze leaguers will destroy him for weeks. I do have issues as i take it too seriously, but everybody have a limit, if you play a game and always lose most people will end up playing something else because like i said not everyone enjoy being losers.

Angry Bird Yes I agree with that, but at least one should give oneself a try. It's not a game for everyone, but it one doesn't try one wouldn't find out right? (refering to topic starter above) I Think the mistake many of us do is not Learning and progressing. We don't put enough effort where it's needed. And lowko said that much of the reason why people lose games at lower leagues is because of the lacking in some of the very basics to SC(2). That's quite true.

Jordan23xll G where are your lings and queens? if you scout helions then make a wall using two evos and a spine or two evos and 3-4 Queens but you need lings to counter to the 4 helions

I got destroyed by freakin' MMM, head on. Zerg econ is still hard (I'm only plat). Edit: I lied. my econ was supposedly better but my units were lacking.

I'm in diamond league level 2 and I'm sick of losing vs T. My ZvZ and ZvP is like 80% win rate but my T is 10% and I always lose to marine -> medic -> tank. Rascal ord if the terran plays bio with some tanks you con still beat him without problems, just destroy his marines with baneling/zergling and try to damage his economy with mutas and drops.. if the terran switch to full mech i don't know how to beat him, if he just products more tanks some infestor or vipers should do the work

Actualy no when my opponent decides to go for siege Tanks im usualy glad since my mutas can take them out easily, and as for his bio its usualy gone in a blind of an eye, thx to the banelings and the zerglings cleaning up the rest.

+Kevin B. Creep tumours are rather expensive early on when you don't have too many Queens yet, as it is usually chosen over a Queen inject. Obviously later on it's not that important anymore, but at least connecting all bases with creep is really important.

Does anyone have any good tips for a starter like me. I'm a casual StarCraft 2 zerg player and i get the base concept behind it all (build a army and keep economy). But i find that Im loosing almost all my games because i feel like i've got so much to do at once and then i never now what to do. And while Lowo's video's do help I'm not at a skill level were i can impliment the tips and trick he gives. (please ignore all grammar mistakes)

Sam Watson You should try the training section under multiplayer tab first. Get the concept. Lowko's play is really fast and almost using all the hotkeys and jump among the cameras, newbies wont able to keep up and learn his technique yet. I had a hard time playing Zerg too. But then I played Coop on Casual Difficulty, it dis help a lot. Because you need to unlock each unit and upgrade as you level up, building the techniques and confident. It also teach you the build order and which upgrades are best for your planned army composition. Also your ally in Coop can help you too, my first 15 games as Zerg in Coop Missions were instructed by my random ally. I told them from the start "I am Noob to Zerg". They was actually very kind and told me what should I do and what to get. Now I can play Zerg better and able to beat Harder AI in multiplayer. Thats just my suggestion. Hope you will get better

Congratulations!! you discovered that doing nothing besides macro makes for an extremely boring game. The number one reason that people of strategic mind don't continue playing starcraft is.... "all people do is max units an hurl them at each other. The races aren't balanced to take that into account, so i don't play."

Why are you spam clicking at the beginning like you have tourettes? Trying to follow what your doing, but I cant tell what is a useful click or you just randomly clicking. This goes on throughout the game. I just started back and love your videos, but having a hard time seeing what your doing

This ensures he is warmed up for the APM that will be required. If you try it out in a game keeping yourself consistently macroing and keeping yourself busy it won't feel lethargic when the mid to late game hits. It's sort of like keeping the flow of things going so you are always ready.
