I played much of the campaign with mainly zerglings + kerrigan. Normaly there are not more air units then kerrigan can kill, so it should work. In the last mission I found only two places that kerrigan and some free zerglings can't overrun without serious problems on brutal. At the end I had 18k minerals and 10k gas and was still mining from the 2nd base...

I did a full playthrough with the own rule „you are only allowed to morph zerglings“. It didnt exactly work like s charm (zerglings just sorta die and then you need to retreat kerri. And Kerri also somstimes just gets sniped by ghosts or BCs) but its possible!

Mass swarm hosts + mass queen is a pretty good combo, queens for heals and anti-air. When maxed add static defense.

So, after all the hardships of WoL campaign, its all coming down to roots - Kerrigan once again granted her Zerg-ish Queen form. There were a slightest feeling of anti-climax that our work was undone. Anyway, the cinematic of her transformation was super cool to watch. Blizzard still keeping up the quality and thats good! The true battle now begins, Lowko! Good luck! (and for Christ sake take some abilites that require ENERGY to use! Right now Kerrigan is just a walking damage sponge with next to no damage from herselfl; she's a bloody Queen of Blades! Give the girl some credit!) P.S. How could I forget! That skintight costume she was wearing before transformation probably costed hundreds of thousands credits! And now it got torn apart :(

It'd be nice if they made the model more different yeah. Like re-zerging her is fine be she's not really all that different looking from the previous queen of blades. It'd be less sorta lame if she got a cool new look. Course it gives Jimmy Boy more reason to be really pissed at her when she rescues him. Swarm Host's Locust Spawn ability is "autocast" as in once it sees an enemy within range, it will automatically spawn Locusts. Legacy of the Void featured them being able to Spawn Locusts while on the move.

Sundering Glave is extremely useful for one of the achievements on the final mission. If you're going for 100% achievements, you'll need to use it at least once. Also, it's pretty handy for the bonus objective on this mission too.

Nice, the way I finished this map was to set up pokeys at the high ramps, with swarm hosts and zerglings to soak up the most of the damage, and a bunch of spores to ensure the air was safe. To do the bonus, I just used a ton of mutas with rapid regen to raid and blast at big attacks.

Lowko, when you select your main hatchery (maybe all, not sure), you'll see zergling reconstitution on "T" in bottom right. You can probably disable the auto spawn with a right click.

Also, Sundering Glaive is useful to complete the secondary objective of Killing the Tyrannozor. You can make a group of Mutalisks, send them over the battlefield where the fighting is thinnest, and focus down the Tyrannozor. Quite quickly, I might add, if you make enough Mutalisks.

Everytime Lowko plays a level on this playthough i shall play through the same level on Brutal...this one seems to be Static defense central so... Update: it took a long while and ultimately had to sack the bonus objective but i did it. Corpser roaches were the MVP of this one, had to reset multiple times because some zergling or mutalisk did as much as sneeze on the cocoon but i managed to finally get the archivement!

The easy way to do it with bonus on brutal is to just wall the left ramp completely, with evo chambers in front of spines and spores. Leave some space on the right ramp, and build no structures in your natural (other than the hatch and gases). Leave some lings in your natural and run them toward your ramp if anything try to attack the natural. After setting up your static defense and 6 swarm hosts in both entrances, you can just make as many mutas as you can to defend the south rocks. After getting 30+ mutas, you can easily kill the bonus and come back before rocks get knocked down.

If you use zerglings to defend swarmhosts, then send them in, when the locusts disappear(no defense for a few sec) and not when the fight starts. Not that it would matter anymore(they cost to much if you don't need to defend at several points, where other units are maybe a bit to slow), just a sidenote.

Mass swarm host with flying locust able to target air units is pretty good in the campaign. Specially since you don't have many mission with a timer like WoL, you can build a pretty huge army witout having to hurry.

For the bonus objective, with your amount of resources, i use mutalisk, with the harden glave (deals bonus damage to armor) and then that's all, i just build a crap ton of swarm host, hydralisk, roaches, and static defense.

Oh! So the Xel'naga artifact pulled out most of the zerg stuff from Kerrigan that the Overmind put into her. But the Overmind was under the control of Amon. So by pulling out that Overmind zerg material and then re-doing the Queen of Blades transformation on the zerg homeworld, Kerrigan basically went back to the roots. Like doing a re-install of an operating system from an ancient, previous version that has never been in contact with a virus (Amon).

Sundering Glaive can actually be quite useful in some situations, as many armored targets are ground based, and thus either unable to attack or unable to keep pace with Mutalisks. Due to their speed and overall mobility, it’s possible to use Mutalisks equipped with Sundering Glaive in surgical strikes against large, high-value, armored targets. This could be an especially useful tactic for you if you plan to mainly use ground forces, the core of which are your Roaches and Hydralisks, and supplemented by Zerglings, as well as Swarm Hosts and Ultralisks later. All of that having been said, Vicious Glaive is generally the best value if one intends to use Mutalisks in a more conventional role.

In the campaign sundering glave is actually really good, you will mostly face terran and lots of their mech. What vicious is good at, is kind of something the rest of your units will already have handled. Kerrigan with chain lightning does their job already.

When I play this one (and I have multiple times) I never build swarmhosts. They're worthless. Spines and spores, all day, every day. You also need the anti-armor on the mutas, and build about a dozen. When the bonus spawns, snipe him with mutas. Also I don't bother expanding, but a do build a macro hatch.

The glaive worm hits 3 targets by default, up to 6 with the upgrade. Wondering glaive sounds terrible, but it's one of the things that makes dehakas Muta so strong in vo-op

Actually campaign zerg is WAY more defensive than lowko makes it look here. The problem is, he's not treating this like a holdout. Queens and a crapton of crawlers will do some major work even without swarm hosts, corpser roaches, or impalers/lurkers added to it. And a large squad of mutas flying from point to point helping out the crawlers will take care of anything the crawlers aren't equipped for.
