Oh, it defiantly works, you can use it through the lower ranks effectively, and even in masters it works, you just need to be a grandmaster+ level player to pull it off against grandmaster level players.

Dark is insane at thinking while in the game. He recently played against a Toss (Maxpax?) that countercheesed him with Tempests. Dark build 2 Dropalords to juggle the queens that got targeted by the tempests until he had enough units to win. 5000iq

Early on in the series before he reached masters mmr it was also often termed 'rush a cc for high ground vision' as the opponents often died before the planetery was finished or sometimes even before it started morphing and just hang up there giving vision

Got hooked on lowko and recently have been watching lots of thermy... Mostly I watch both almost daily. I thought I got skunked today with thermy taking a break when I found out what games lowko.was casting today... But lowko's commentary is worth it. Almost as good as marc's response to that PF at 1 hp.

What impresses me the most with uThermal is hes able to commentate his games and play at 90/95% of of skills. I know when I open my month for any reason, I easily drop under 50%. Talking is brain taxing and it does not phase him much at all.

I think the main reasons these tactics work, is partly because of the element of surprised which causes a shock and awe effect. But more importantly, it disrupts the flow of gameplay that alot of pro players have. Because I feel like most pro players play the same plays with the same expectations of what they are gonna fight. This gigachad Planetary rush is not only well done, but it causes so much chaos that even if it doesn't work. it ruins their thought process and basically pulls them out of their groove. Ive done this in other games where I can disrupt similarly skilled players with some silly nonsense that they cannot adapt to fast enough to defeat it. Some players are just better at the unconventional and very strange games than other players. And forcing enemies who are unable to adapt into those situations, even if they are technically sub optimal can do wonders.

I think building a factory jsut behind the frotress against zerg or something or around it... for gettign out tanks to siege with it... too the front lines nad jsut make an incredible tough choke point, since lal the so called maps are designed with mostly a weakness of choke points in whihc tanks and fortress units will excel at... if used in a isoaltion method.. .then jsut build more fortresses and air... and sensor network to keep them all corenred in... hmmm
