About The Game:
StarCraft is a military science fiction media franchise, created by Chris Metzen and James Phinney and owned by Blizzard Entertainment. The series, set in the beginning of the 26th century, centers on a galactic struggle for dominance among four species-the adaptable and mobile Terrans, the ever-evolving insectoid Zerg, the powerfully enigmatic Protoss, and the "god-like" Xel'Naga creator race-in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy known as the Koprulu Sector. The series debuted with the video game StarCraft in 1998. Starcraft is one of those games that im unfathomly shit at and would still rank top 5 fav. Everything about it, sound design and direction, the sprites, the deep gameplay and factions. It all makes up for it

I played Starcraft a lot when I was a kid, and I was always very surprised at how I remembered all the cheat codes I used to use in this game. Power Overwhelming, Black Sheep Wall, and Show Me the Money being my favorites.

In one skirmish game I did use the cheat to reveal the map, I played as the protoss vs. the zerg, we were separated by a river with two bridges. I fortified the bridges to the extreme, turret after turret constantly being repaired while I built up my force of carriers. The zerg rushed my fortifications over and over again, and then stopped. Turns out the zerg had used up all of their minerals trying to break through my defenses. After that I simply went in with my carriers and bombed them out of existence with minimal resistance. That game taught me the importance of resource management, and is why I usually play defensive games, as maintaining turrets and bunkers is much cheaper than building troops to attack said turrets and bunkers, a war of attrition.

The funniest thing, is that Power Overwhelming didn't make you invulnerable, it made enemy units do 0 damage. Literally. IF you played a full 8 player match versus 7 bots, with no teams and you put on Power Overwhelming, the game will eventually have so many units fighting that nothing works properly. You can't make more units, unit attack graphics won't show up most of the time, and as such, damage won't be dealt by you most of the time. It even affects mining resources. That and you hear the msot ungodly of noises, literally every unit sounds being played almost constantly, since you could hear battles in the distance.

I LOVED this game.... it was one of the first "mature" games I was ever allowed to play at about 10, 11? I got through the campaigns ok, but my favorite thing to do was play against my dad. He crushed me EVERY time, but our maniacal laughter as he nuked me, AGAIN.... Man I wish I still had a copy of this game!

The best thing about Blizz is that they clearly care about their games. They didn't have to give the loss of Kerrigan an awesome looking cut scene in SC2, yet they did. I hugely respect that kind of dedication.

my first time playing Starcraft was the Nintendo 64 version, I loved it I rented that game every weekend until I meet a new friend at school who showed me how amazing the PC version was. Starcraft is in my top 10 games of all time and is one of the few games I have like 2000+ hours playing.

Yuki Terumi I'm pretty sure the terrans originally crashed on three separate worlds, Umoja(Umojan Protectorate), Tarsonis(Confedera y) and Moria(Kel-Morian Combine). These were the major terran powers at the time of starcraft 1.

CaptPonyholder Well, to be fair, I'm on my second playthrough with New Game+. So essentially, I played the whole game twice. And aside from a chunk of endgame stuff, I did the vast majority of quests on my first playthrough. Now I did ALL quests on my second playthrough. So, I'd say, yeah, 170 hours is realistic. If you know what you are doing and don't miss some of the quests which can run out. You also beat the super bosses, I presume? Gosh, they are nothing to sneeze at... Even so, 170 hours still isn't few.^^

Would recommend the Starcraft 2 mod "Mass Recall". A remake of SC1 + Brood War in the SC2 engine. Complete with cut scenes and all. I forget what expansions you need for it, but it may just be Starter Edition. Would recommend if you want to experience SC1 with better UI and control (like selecting mutiple pages of units)

Actually, the Terrans left Earth because of their use of tech implants, which the governments of Earth did not like. So they all got onboard big sleeper ships and shot of into space, crashing in the Koprulu Sector

Nope. The (Koprulu) Terrans were originally prisoners sent to a planet but the navigational computers on their ships pretty much malfunctioned and landed them on the Koprulu Sector

I made people rage quit in online games by typing things like "Show me the money Cheat Enabled" If you did it just right, the cheat enabled section would appear in the middle of the screen. It was great. Worked in Warcraft too.

It may have been pointed out at least once already, but the Terrans are not descended from valiant explorers from Earth. They're the descendants of a prison colony that was intended as the interstellar equivalent of 1700s Australia, the original group of which was largely made up of people who'd been making use of genetic manipulations...hence the existence of Terran telepaths like Sarah Kerrigan. The manual's backstory fills in a lot about where all these people come from, though it's all lore and almost entirely irrelevant to the series. (Only key point is that the Terrans have no loyalty to Earth, hence going to war with the United Earth Directorate when Broodwar hit.)
