My definitive playthough of the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection trilogy and Nova mission pack. Each mission video will be a walkthrough explaining and executing strategies to succeed and obtain most achievements on Brutal difficulty. All dialogues, cinematics, and story-related material will be at the end of each video.
In some cases I omit completing Mastery achievements that would require a separate playthrough detracting from a full showcase of the mission in question.

I remember when playing on Hard it was difficult to get into their base with just pure stalkers. Had to mix in some zealots to distract/soak the damage against those pesky zerglings and hydras. Tidbit: If you get your third faction before going to Korhal, you'll get some neat dialogue from one of your shipmates.

I made it work with blink micro. Ngl it took me many save loads to make sure literally every stalker made it out alive to be able to clear the rest of the map lol

I presume that for the Shakuras missions, or most of them at least, Jay will use zealots because whirlwind is great against weaker zerg like zerglings. It's only a theory though so I anticipate the results of my query

Lasarra, Selendis, Rohana, Vorazun, Talis. They really give a lot of female protoss roles now whereas before it was only Rhazagal. It's a nice change.

According to lore, the Nerazim were more open minded in that aspect. On the other hand, Aiur protoss Templar were almost exclusively males.

I think Vorazun-chan dropped the subject of Zeratul's death to stop Arty from the self-indulgent guilt trip. And he killed her mum. And Rohana's like "Bitch please, I got this". I think she serves as a nice contrast to Arty's self doubt with her faithfulness to her duty. WHERE THE FUCK IS ZAMARA!!! AAAAAAAHHH!!! NEXT ON JAYBICARBONATE'S PLAYTHROUGH: GTFO on Adun's pointy stick 2! Adun toridas mofo! feat. DT's and alien waifu.

FWIW, Day9 was able to accomplish all of the side objectives *and* achievements for this mission on brutal difficulty, but only with numerous retries on stream. It stopped being fun to watch long before he succeeded.

Jay, if you go for Shakuras first, you get to have the Dark Templar earlier. Going to Korhal while using the DTs against Mobius Corps (sp?) units is INSTANT DEATH! You’ll see!

at the ending part of second korhal part you can just spam avengers. Recall cooldown ends until they reach the last enemy bases.

I'd pick the Spear of Adun, so many powerful abilities to use. Also it's just an awesome design. It's a symbol of the Protoss civilization at the height of their power and grandeur exemplified.

I always went Korhal first because IMO Shakuras is harder (at least the holdout mission) and I like the Shakuras cinematic to play later in the plot

Alright, Essence of Eternity is not LotV, I did not count that one, but sure. Purification is not a holdout map at all, you just need to not let a building get destroyed while you complete the objective, which is exactly the same as "don't lose your base while you destroy theirs".

I suppose. Still think it is too many. A single expansion has 4 defense-style missions; while WC3 RoC and TfT in total have like 3. Just something that made LoTV my least favorite out the three.

Do you seem to think this is unique to LotV or something? It's through the entirety of SC2 and it's mildly less engaging in the previous entries. The Reckoning is simply destroy the one thing across the map, while these have multiple and something happens incrementally.

@@JayborinoPlays It's not unique by any means, it just hurts me the most on this campaign. Not even mentioning the last mission of epilogue. Wow, we face the big bad directly, lol, destroy some crystal/shards/whatever. From gameplay mechanics it's legit, but it's also extremely dissapointing.

I guess I don't understand how it can possibly "hurt you thing most" in this campaign when literally every mission besides defense maps can be described as "destroy stuff". I'm not going out of my way to defend this game, I know it's divisive, but you've set your counter at the absolute most encompassing criteria.

Zealots get teleported in a burst of blue fire when their injured are to severe. If they survive the injuries but are crippled, they get Dragooned. This is what happened to Fenix after he was to badly injured in the onslaught.
