Carey and Jordan have also competed in 2020 Olympics, NCAA and back to elite worlds working toward 2024 WHILE still competing in college.

I don't think this was well researched at all. A simple Google search would have provided this simple information.

Isn’t this untrue? Skinner was a Rio alternate, then Utah, then Tokyo?
@wendyw651 Жыл бұрын
It did say "compete" though. Skinner was named to the 2016 team, but didn't compete
@sammy4634 Жыл бұрын
@@wendyw651 well, there was many others like Elizabeth Price (@Stanford)who competed in NCAA gymnastics, after being an alternate in the Olympics just like Skinner; Bridget Sloan also went to the Olympics won a silver medal and returned back to NCAA gymnastics at Florida…
@wendyw651 Жыл бұрын
@Sammy I'm aware. The question here was, has anyone else competed in the Olympics, done NCAA, and then competed in the Olympics again. My point on Skinner was no, because she didn't compete the first time she was named to the Olympic team. Among Americans, Suni would be the first to complete the "Olympic Competitor -> NCAA -> Olympic competitor sequence. Kate Richardson did it for Canada. Olympics 2000 and 2004, competed as a UCLA Bruin 2002-2006.

The Brazilian gymnastics team has great talents too. Brazil always helps athletes from Panamá train for olympic cycles. They offer their High Performance Training Center for free to them. They must be incredibly nice people with great olympic level coaches .They trained a former olympic runner Irving Saladino get a gold medal in an olympic games. Maybe the U.S. could do a sport agreement with them so the american gymnasts in the national team train for free too or at much lower costs.

Makayla Skinner competed at University of Utah and then went back to Elite gymnastics. She was on the 2020 Olympic team. Suni Lee isn't the 1st.

She's moving on to bigger and better things? No offense to NCAA gymnasts, but if you watch Suni's gymnastics comparatively, it's clear as mud she doesn't belong. Her work is on an entirely different plane.

How did her parents pay for her huge expenses in gymnastics even with all their jobs and savings? Was she poor or middle class? Did she have free gymnastics classes or sponsors when she trained and competed ??

Simon Biles does not impress me at all! She is a quitter and failed her teammates! BUT, Sunisa Lee stuck it out, like the other teammates and they won numerous medals with Suni winning the ALL AROUND GOLD MEDAL! Go Suniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!
@LaurainFlorida Жыл бұрын
When you have matched Simone’s body of work maybe you can earn the right to bash her. She is the most decorated gymnast of all time and has several stunts named after her. Perhaps if she had broken a bone instead of a mental break you would be more sympathetic? Yay keyboard athletes!
@ladylauren4989 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think anything screams “I’m not a gymnast and I don’t understand mental blocks or the twisties “ more than this comment. Suni did great, and Simone made the right choice for her mental health. Others stepped up and were able to win the medals she would have taken, had she not hurt herself or worse by continuing to compete with that mindset.
