For anyone wondering about raised universal/enlightened, it's not super worth it imo. Most of the stuff you can get from the chests is only good in the very early game(already pretty useless at lvl 13)

My character was taken from childhood as a guinea pig in some hidden lab, but found a way to escape. So it obviously has alien DNA, is introvert because doesn't have faith in other humans and is wanted by the lab that hired mercenaries

That’s pretty cool. My character is a well known bounty hunter . So I’m sure I had enough money from my jobs to have my dream home. And since I’m well known I have an adoring fan. I’m more towards freedom and being independent so I was raised from the freestar collective settler.

Taskmaster is actually pretty great because you can sell the ship parts that you save on repairs. You can then persuade the crew you want to hire to get the price back down to normal. It went from 33,000 credits to 16,500 to hire a new crew member. To make things better, get the perk that increases the amount of credits you sell items for (I forgot the name of it) and you can make alot of credits really fast that way.

Disagree about the native traits, It doesn't really lock you into anything, you can join ryujin and the freestar collective and the vanguard and the crimson fleet all on the same character, It just rewards you a bit more for planetside stuff for each faction

I took the kid stuff trait on my first character and got a nice pistol from Dad as I was about to set off with Sarah on our first Constellation mission. They also add some nice dialog interactions. All in all I felt they were a great addition to my game.

After many many hrs in the game. Ill tell you my second play through. Im a ballistic player. If you are a ballistic weapon player. Pick these traits abd skills. I promise you, you wont be disappointed. File not found 1. Terra firma 2. Wanted 3. Extrovert I habent tested this theory yet because i havent started my second play through. But some of the skills you can cancel out the negative effects and only have the buffs. By outting perks in the skill tree. Anyways i hope my ballistics weapon players enjoy. And thanks for the vid. I wouldnt choose no factions because you can choose and faction. So i see that pointless because you can join them ingame. But you can also quit them. This will be my second play through setup.

Oh Alien DNA is far better than you gave it credit for XD - Given that there isn't much of a reduction in healing items (just use med packs...) and when out of combat, rest at a bench/bed for 1 hr (regain all HP). That's when I do most of my healing anyways (is out of combat) and med packs were sufficient enough to keep me alive.

I suppose you can look at it both ways and I think it’ll depend more on your style - run and gun/melee, then you’ll probably rely on healing items quite a bit as you’ll be taking hits a lot. A stealthy character on the other hand shouldn’t lose their health as much so Alien DNA is probably better. Either way, that’s a top tip right there! I only found out recently that you could wait while sitting but didn’t realise it replenished your health 😯 Looks like I’ll be sitting down a lot more often lol Edit: I tried sitting down and waiting but that didn't regen my health, it stays the same

Without do much spoilers, someone could find useful to know that certain traits could be removed. Speaking with some NPC you could have the dialogue option about remove your trait, I found one for removing alien blood (by some medical treatment) and another to remove introvert (for being more kind to other people's). I didn't proceed with the removal, but I suppose that after you have removed a trait you could have some similar option with other NPC to add another trait. For example some research center coul add alien blood if you accept to be their cavy, or for the psychological trait you have to find someone that could teach you... I'm loving this game!

Id want to run empath (for my first run) but only if there is a morally right smuggler character, so they are fine with like petty theft, and smuggling and lying and stuff, but not ok with out right murder, and such severe crimes

One of the common complaints I’ve heard is that every companion is a goody goody to the point of not even having a moral compass, just being a compulsive rule follower. If it’s illegal, it’s punishable by death. If it’s legally recommended, it must b complied with under pain of death

Honestly just starting out my game now a few weeks behind everyone else lol. But from my previous experience with Bethesda games and such like that, it's always good to get Traits that have no negatives, pros and no cons... So I figure it's best to go with Hero Worship, Kids Stuff and Wanted... Because again explained in this video they all basically have pros with no cons. All three of these perks basically give you money and items for zero to no cost in return.... And the way I look at it, all your perks eventually level up in the end game when you're 200 plus hours in... So again, it's good to pick traits that give you free money and free items as opposed to leveling up bonuses.

Gunplay in Outer Worlds was balls though. I dropped it after a few hours. I’m just starting Starfield now, but I’m skeptical of how much I’m gonna like it. HOWEVER, saying “I don’t even need to play it to know XYZ” is kinda wild lol. I’ve watched every critical review of Starfield, and that makes me skeptical of it, but you can’t just ignore the fact that there are a ton of positive reviews. Just today I was watching Luke Stephens’ podcast with JorRaptor, and they clearly both had very different opinions of it. Jor loves it. Luke is lukewarm on it (pun intended).

I’m playing A soldier background with Alien DNA Inteovert and wanted ant it allows me to paint my backstory pretty colorfully. I was a failed experiment to make actual super soldiers and when they went to “Dispose” of me I destroyed everything they were doing and went AWOL and know they want my head on a silver platter fits me pretty well actually I’m having way too much fun with Starfield even made the Frontier look like a blockade runner personal jump ship from Destiny 1. I’m basically unmatched in ground combat even when you try to gang up. And I’m still only level 13 my piloting skills are ass but I haven’t really had a chance to push the Anvil-1 (My Frontier) to its limits and test it. Cuz it’s easily three to four times better than the regular frontier ever was. So honest opinion pick something that fits your play style I did and I’m going bananas.

Alien DNA has been good for me because I'm playing unarmed and I've put so many skill points into physical that I have rejuvenation perk which regent health.

Yeah I’m thoroughly happy with the trait. The down side to it can easily be overcome with skills I took medicine rank 2 and at Rank 2 for someone who won’t using it you only get one extra health point from food and med packs I think it’s worth it.

The way I see traits is they add a little additional flavor to whatever background you choose. For example, my bounty hunter took part of some crazy genetic experiments with alien dna, and now is a freak of nature in combat. Being an expert in starship maneuvers and combat, he can be quiet the taskmaster when looking for an optimal crew, willing to pay extra for thier talents. Finally, due moral reasons, he didn't collect on a bounty, and now is being hunted by his former clients. This forces him to take on less exciting jobs like mining, so he can lay low while he's wanted.

you can in fact regen health later in game. alien dna is S tier trait. its only rough in the begining
