Saying that though I really really really like this game and I recommend this game to anybody that likes RPG‘s I understand a lot of PlayStation people don’t care about it and then actively hating on it but I think if they came to the PlayStation five, which it never will, they would change their tone about it.

It’s funny seeing so many reviewers hyper fixate on every aspect of this game. I don’t blame them, it is their job after all. But I’m a simple man. What it ultimately comes down to is how much fun I’m having, and how much excitement do I have around a game. Starfield is the first game in a long time that I think about at work. It’s one of those games where I get home and the first thing I think about is wanting to play it. I stay up late playing it and can’t get off. I don’t care about fast travel, bugs, loading screens.. whatever. The game has me hooked and it’s all I can think about. The last games I can remember that gave me this feeling was red dead 2 and the last of us.
@MarcusSoulCombos

The problem is a reviewer can’t tell you how much fun you’re going to have. They can o Lu tell you why it succeeds or fails to be fun to them. The metacritic is like 85 which is really good so good for them. Maybe in a few days I’ll grab gamepass and check it out

Im glad you're enjopying the game dude. There's lots of different interests out there and i feel like these review/first impressions videos should serve to educate those who haven't played it. nowadays tho with everything getting so expensive noone wants to spend money on anything that isnt a 10 out of 10 guranteed home run banger life changing game. So everyone over values the opinions of game reviews of people who have a completely different tastes. Like please just play it yourself. Everyone did this with dead island 2, everyone did this with cyberpunk like just buy it yourself or crack it for fucks sake. This comment takes me back to when games didnt need to be approved by moist critical to get an active playerbase. People tried different things and gaming companies did too.

@Reynolds128
@Reynolds128 Жыл бұрын
@@rick6620 the loading screens take like two seconds.. you can directly fast travel anywhere giving you one loading for like 5 seconds... you can also choose to go to your ship fly up into space and travel through the scanner if you want to feel more immersed as well as there is people and things in orbit around planets that you visit and some of the coolest random encounters that you completely miss if you are fast travelling everywhere so you get rewarded for going through the effort of flying around in your spaceship instead of fast travelling everywhere but the option is there if you're doing busy work... basically you have options😝🤣

So far, I absolutely love this game. It's better than I expected. While there are things that I dislike, it's more a personal preference and are mostly things that I expect in Bethesda RPG games. I found games like NO MAN'S SKY and even STAR CITIZEN to be exceptionally boring most of the time (after the initial wow-factor wore off). However, this game has a story and "world" (well, "galaxy") that feels like it won't get old anytime soon. I'm already looking forward to playing it a second time using a different character background and set of decisions.

Despite the mixed reviews, I really enjoyed the game. Although the game mechanics feel dated, however the worldbuilding is immersive and it is fun to explore and see what's gonna happen next if the player character did this or said that. Would honestly still give it a 9/10 for a BGS RPG game.
@PaulojnPereira

I actually like the way they handled space flight and combat, its simple but satisfactory, because not everyone is interested in that, and if you put a few points in piloting you get some extra moves for combat like using thrusters (its not the Boost btw) this allows you to do some impressive moves and engage more enemy ships at once, you can also place some points in targeting so you can target specific components in a ship in order to disable it and then board it. Most space sims don't allow you to board enemy vessels.

Same dude, this game is like Crack to me. I feel it's become fashionable to bash solid gameplay due to a company name and stature, I was thoroughly entertained and I my experience was such that I agree with the reviewer that the game doesn't explain basic features which does suck, but..... as gamers we also despise hand holding. Which does make it fairly impossible to cater to every gamer out there. So maybe it's not fair to judge them to harshly on this. Plus the ship battles I really felt were bad ass, like expanse levels of bad ass. Would buy again 9/10. Plus.... I bought the upgrade to play early, ZERO regrets so far.

It definitely gets a lot of stuff right, for example the game is very generous at how far you can be from your ship and still move stuff to and from it and your personal inventory. And crafting materials that are in your ship can be used at any crafting station you want to use. So there are some quality of life misses but also some very nice wins, they just didn't think of everything.

They should really consider if UE5 but retooled to have the gameplay features of Creation could be utilized, or consider other engines that they could try if BGS can't have an easier time for the research and development needed to advance Creation far enough to account for the utter scale of ES6 and still track everything. I wonder if that's even possible when you're trying to stream in objects to store data on exactly what was there without having to have massive install / RAM space being used by an Xbox or PC for instance.

Why is levelcap playing/reviewing a Bethesda open-world RPG if he doesn't like dialogue and character development? Like, Levelcap, my guy, the NPCs literally say "when you have a moment" which literally tells you you don't need to listen to their whole life's story in the middle of battle, THEY WILL TELL YOU LATER IF YOU WAIT. FFS just listen to what they're saying for 2 seconds.

If they switch from CE2 to UE5, its gonna cut a huge chunk away from the games in terms of the level and amount of interactive items in every scene and their persistence, the persistence and simulation of NPCs, and especially moddability. UE cant handle the same level of item persistence and amount and is also internally much more rigid, which would eliminate much of the modding scene and the scope of what they could do. Many games have suffered due to studios moving from in-house engines to frostbite or UE (like ME:Andromeda).

One thing I never see people talk about for this game is atmosphere, and that's everything to me in a game. There's a reason I love Dark Souls, Cyberpunk 2077, and Starfield so much, and it's all because they have amazing atmosphere. Yes the planets are mostly empty, and the "dynamic events" always play out the exact same, but I can't help but just take time to walk around and soak it all in, knowing I may be the only living thing on that planet. Sure, the graphics, gameplay, quest design, AI and animation are outdated and unimpressive (and the only thing truly "next gen" about this game is the file size) but the art direction and atmosphere is what makes me LOVE Starfield. I rarely get this immersed in a game, even though it's a loading screen simulator. I give the game an overall 7/10 in terms of quality, but a 9.5/10 in terms of my enjoyment.

I'll say two things.. 1.) The loading screens, while far too many, are not long enough to have bothered me yet. 2.) I would have loved to be getting 120fps in 1440p consistently with my 3080 but, even in the more asset cluttered areas where FPS drops into the high 50's and mid 60's, these areas seem to be constant at that rate and that makes a big difference compared to potentially bouncing between 100 and 50fps in real time. With that said, the omission of something as logical as a weapon equip button/keybind without having to "favorite" it into a main slot has been a more frustrating, killer of immersion imo. This is mainly because you're likely going to change this fairly often. The actual space travel has been pretty disappointing having previously played Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous BUT, the combat system is intuitive and engaging enough to mostly make up for it... At least until you're hoping to just roam a planet after landing without having to run everywhere. Then it sinks in again.

I have to agree. there are too many games engines out there that could have made this game into a real classic and probably the best game in decades but unfortunately some companies don't want to put in the real effort to make their art truly great.

From what I've seen in reviews so far I think I'll pass, the game looks like Fallout 4 but with more of the things I didn't like about Fallout 4, hell with many of the things I don't like about any Bethesda game (loading screens for every door, dead-eyed NPCs, mountains of trash to sort through and carry to the nearest trader).

Starfield seems like a good 80% game. But in reality, after 7 years, a AAA studio with MS backing should be able to do better.

For me, if Starfield had a similar type of freedom of movement just like NMS, as in: mech suits to explore planets, land rovers to drive around, or survey planets while you're flying, landing and taking off and travel towards planets just like NMS, than this game would've killed it.

Ironic as it is, starfield "just works". It's not 10/10, but it's not bad either. It's just a game that exists. I think this is the worse year to just be a game given how many 10/10s have released this year, it makes it harder for starfield to stand out. But the real kicker is just that starfield is yet another bethesda game at it's core. Either you like the bethesda formula and happy to see it in a space setting, or you dont (in which case this game is not for you).

I'm a fairly realistic person and I've been playing Fallout and Elder Scrolls for almost 20 years. I knew what I was getting into with Starfield. I've been having a blast. That being said, the lack of optimization, failing to create any sort of seamless/hidden loading screens and the typical Bethesda problems are still frustrating.

Why spend millions to build a new engine when you can use the old one and make an obscene profit from. At the end of the day it’s a business decision. Maybe with the money they will work on that nex gen engine.

this is by far the best review of starfield ive seen, it doesnt only focus on the negative and the stupid negatives like the invisible walls (which ive yet to encounter in 82h of playtime). A lot of people only base their reviews on questionnable critisicm and only points to bad things and completely ignore the positives. This is not the case here, both sides are approached and balanced!

I'll stick with Star Citizen....half if not as many more bugs as this game for half or less the price. Plus, you have more immersive worlds, limitless exploration, PVP shenanigans, more attention to detail, actually cool universe backstory, and the opportunity to play with new game tech before the game releases in 2092. No sweat off my back because I know the game is in development, so I can't complain. Starfield on the other hand, easily missed the mark. Twenty five years in the making....Okay buddy. It's not a matter of expectation at this point or comparing the two games. Clearly, if one makes a space game, it must be nearly indefinitely explorable, or at least give the impression thereof. A lot of time went into nothing. I'm sure a mod could have come up with something better, oh wait they are already doing that.

@@tarakivu8861 more like I have to find time in my busy schedule. Why sacrifice precise hours for a buggy game (that I can accept) now, when I can get it 3 to 4 months later at half the price maybe and maybe patched up. Also the fact the last game I bought from Bethesda, region locked the fallout 76. So I’m still salty about that as well.

I am 100% convinced that the reason Starfield has a reputation for bugginess is because all the reviewers are playing the game on PC. Every single review for Starfield I have watched has not been on Xbox Series X or S but clearly PC and they ALL have edit's of various bugs but this radically contradicts my own experience with Starfield. As someone without a two thousand dollar gaming PC I played Starfield on my Xbox Series X and I am at the end of my first playthrough, 90 hours and a level 48 character. In all those hours I took note of every bug that I would call "significant" such as characters clipping through the floor or hovering, those kind of things. It is worth noting I don't use companions, I travel alone. My notes have 5 instances of significant bugs At level 7 I had Vasco stuck on the outside of my ship during take off, one time event. At level 12 one of the temple's would not activate, resolved with a reload. At level 14 I saw a big alien clipping through a rock, resolved after I killed it. At level 31 A quest NPC was not where it was supposed to be, resolved with a reload. At level 40 A table in the store was missing, everything on the table was there but table was not, resolved with reload. Those are the noticeable bug's during my 90+ hours of Starfield on Xbox Series X, yet Starfield's reputation is not much better than Cyberpunk. Maybe these reviewers needs to try another platform if they want a better experience. This is far from the first time a game was glitch city on PC but great on console. I don't regret my purchase one bit.
