If you could do this with Nvidia Control Panel settings it would be greatly appreciated for 2023 games and beyond. I have a 7800x3d and 4090. I am always trying to get the best quality settings I possibly can without unnecessarily reducing fps with a 4K 240Hz monitor with HDR. It has been very hard to find this info on the internet and there are so many settings in the control panel.

Great optimizations, I'm very certain that the particle quality setting controls the max number of particles that are displayed on screen at once. This was labeled as iMaxDesired in Fallout 4s INI settings. It would make sense why the waterfall impacts performance the way it does if this applies for Starfield. Also wanted to add that volumetric quality at low makes godrays from window shafts less dramatic so I think bumping this setting to medium is best for visuals to performance ratio.

It is ridiculous how many settings have almost no noticeable visual difference between the settings yet they heavily punish you for using the higher settings. All while at the same time having a bunch of other settings that do have a massive visual improvement but barely cost any FPS. It is wildly inconsistent and makes getting an optimized setting extremely tough to do for a regular player. thank god for the BenchmarKing!

One of the recommended settings is to install it on a Nvme SSD. As soon as I did that I have ZERO issues running at ultra/high settings 3080 i7 9700k 32gig ram at 2k.

Finally had a chance to try starfield out again loaded up DLSS mod, have Neutral LUTs, force auto hdr on, 60fps ship reticle mod and these optimised settings at 4k dlss performance (1080p) it’s still looks really clean despite the lower res, dlss sorts so much of the distracting bits out but ofc your settings really helped me get a smooth 60fps through the game. The space and indoors sees really low gpu usage so there’s room to improve my internal res but I’m impressed with how much better upscalling is now that I don’t think I’ll care too much to keep changing. 3080 12G, 5800X3D 3600MT DDR4. Thanks bro. I’m happily enjoying my playthrough now this game looks really nice a lot to the time!!

I highly recommend leaving VRS off, it had a pretty negative impact on my graphics, produced some edgy corners on faces during conversations for example. Give it a try and see for yourself. I turned it on after watching this video and suddenly wondered why it looked so weird. Anyway, all the other tips seem to be working great.

One question though, around 9:34 the city lightning and shadows looks much better to me in Ultra settings, especially npc's look like they don't have shadows at all on the optimised version.
