Every Institution somewhere has a "Cavanaugh." No matter where it is; a minimum wage job at a fast food franchise, an office job in a cubicle, a factory worker, etc. At the very least ONE person thinks they're so important that they SHOULD be treated with special privileges. Cavanaugh could have saved himself so much grief if he had just NOT acted like he was being persecuted and been irrationally defensive. I get being offended at being at being suspected of planting the bomb, but him being actively uncooperative and antagonising Elizabeth more than he needed to was worse for him. I knew a colleague like that when I worked in a grocery store chain. she was always the victim of SOMETHING nefarious. Even when the situation was just an accidental coincidence.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Shan pressing the button and nothing happening and her like waiting for the thing to work was priceless. I HATE when that happens. Right now in fact, my PC is acting very slowly. I have to wait like almost a whole minute in between typing two words for the buffer to keep up.

Rodney McKay + Radek Zelenka = option 1) Mclenka option 2) ZelenKay option 3) Rodnek - this is a hybrid of Rodney and Radek the characters' first names. option 4) Radney - also their first names That's just four options; I'm sure someone has others. lol.

Pour un étranger comme moi, certains mots je ne comprends pas quand elle chante, mais elle a une superbe voix incontestablement, elle chante très bien, une voix agréable, une musique de vikings, celtiques, une voix puissante et elle chante correctement aussi.

I'm actually only slightly disappointed John and Elizabeth still haven't "talk" to each other at this point. The show hinted at a kind of mutual attraction; what with the occasional extra long looks they give each other sometimes. I wanted John and Elizabeth to have something. But that's me.

How long a beard, Miss Shannan? (FWIW, propriety and a bit of an age difference means I can't say "Right back at you," or otherwise make any comments on your physical appearance. I have therefore always restricted any complements to your bubbly and adorkable personality, and sparkling intelligence. I mean to say you deserve such complements, but it is not appropriate that they come from me. Instead, it is my best wishes to you that you find some special someone from whom such would be appropriate.)

this is one of the worst episode in the show, Elizabeth, a FEMALE in power over a male, ORDER his torture....., it is perverse and fascist behaviour from Elizabeth....it is also disgusting, I do not know what icky is, but it make me feel all icky. Worst part is that it is done because they dislike him, so it also bullying him, who is innocent, there is no recovery except a law suit for billions, lol
@menachemsalomon5 ай бұрын
As stories go, it has three separate threads that don't really attach, so calling it one of the worst may not be so much of an exaggeration. And I suppose Kavanaugh's criticism of Weir is somewhat warranted -- she does allow her emotions to influence her decisions, though plot armor means that she's usually proven correct. That said, Kavanaugh is written to invite dislike, and he doesn't have McKay's penchant for being right (or being a main character) to save him from it.
@shadout5 ай бұрын
Elizabeth at least had the decency to be ashamed at the end, but it still felt badly out of character. We should also remember her character was once a civilian activist lobbying against military spending. The story plot was good, but it feels like how they behaved needed more blowback than 30 seconds of post mortem, and as dislikable as Cavanaugh was, the willingness to single him out as they did doesn't reflect well on Weir's leadership.

The Atlantis expedition as a whole are a lot more ethically compromised than the SGC, and do some down right unethical things over their time. I do wonder if this is something that happened due to when it was made, as SG-1 started pre 9/11, and Atlantis started after, were the writers seeing more of a willingness for their audience to be morally grey after things that had happened in the real world? Not sure, might just be reading into things more. One of the things I really think General Hammond brought to the SGC, he was an old fashioned Officer and a Gentlemen from a section of the Cold War where a code of conduct existed between enemies, so that influenced his command and how it has gone on since, as well as Daniel keeping them on track.
@dupersuper19385 ай бұрын
I'm not sure why their genders factor into it. Any show in which the "hero" tortures some one - especially a potentially innocent some one - is surely automatically worrying.
