They are replicators technically it is just that the ancient put so many restrictions on them in the programming.

just about every single race had energy weapons... weapons that had no effect on the replicator blocks individually. That made the Replicators a very scary enemy, as you could keep shooting it with your big-ass fancy energy weapon and it would not even scratch them. Buh-bye Ma'tok Staffs! Remember it was mentioned in the show that they will not attack unless threatened and that they would ignore everything that is "primitive" tech? Just prior to the episode 'reckoning', the replicators were at the height of their power having built up a massive fleet by wiping out most of the system lords. If the Ori arrived at this point or if SG1 failed at activating the ancient weapon, the replicators would just overwhelm the ori motherships with sheer numbers.

Heck a super hardened alloy rod (effectively a "rod of god") going at close to lightspeed would impossible to stop for even the largest of Replicator constructs. If brute force isn't working, you're not using enough of it.

@Tesparg lol you just can't get rid of the replicators. They're in SG-1 and also Atlantis. I wouldn't be surprised if some version of the replicators shows up in Stargate Universe. Since the technology on Destiny is pretty close to that of the Gould including the shields and weapons, the crew is going to have a hard time defeating the replicators.

@Tesparg In Ghost in the Machine in Season 5 of SGA, I don't know why the last replicators didn't accept the nanite built human bodies and transfer their consciousness, because isn't that what would have made them capable of ascension? Instead they couldn't be trusted and Weir sent herself and the other replicators to a space gate where they were frozen in the vacuum of space. I never quite understood why the replicators never considered that argument.

Won't matter though, the replicators need only take one Ori mothership and they will adapt to the tech much like they did to the Asgard. Once they control space, the replicators can negate the priors telekinesis etc by bombing them from orbit. Going by the Ark of truth movie, even the IOA ( I think..) thought the replicators would devastate the Ori military since it was the back-up plan in case the Ark failed to work

Ba'al knew that kidnapping Adria right from under SG-1's nose would force them to act and find him. He also, being a Goa'uld, wanted to gloat to their face. BUT in the unlikley case they managed to kill him, or Adria would be able to resist him, he used a clone instead.

From the start the Asurans (P Replicators) are vastly superior in every regard to both opponents. Lantean technology, capable of rebuilding their entire society from a single nanite, that fucking beam sattelite. I could go on. But in the long run I'm a tad unsure. The MW replicators were originally built by an android made by a (Rather inept) lantean. They were a crude ripoff of the raw power and advanced-ness of the Asurans, yet they were made with three base directives: Defend yourself if deemed neccecary. Replicate at all costs. Improve at all costs. These three directives made them an unstoppable force of nature. The Asurans, however, were made originally as weapons. Their absurd aggression knows no bounds, yes, but without an enemy to fight they do not attempt to improve. They kinda go into developmental Standby, as it were. The second they have something to fight their advancements skyrocket, but up to that point they just fuck about. Give the MWs a few hundred years before contact and they may actually stand a decent chance. Other than that, though, Asurans can annihilate any other threat in Sci-Fi. The galactic empire in Star Wars would be eviscerated within a year by either type of replicator. The borg, while good in their own way, don't hold a fucking candle to the replicators

Since Wraith hive ships are organic the replicators might have a hard time being compatible at cannibalising,infesting and/or replicating onboard a Wraith hive ship as replicators require raw materials like metal in order replicate from located in/around a mechanical ship. So maybe Wraith hive ships could be the only ships known to be capable of being immune to replicator assimilation/infection unless replicators can evolve to be able feed on/use organic materials instead of metal. If that is the case you may end up with a new breed of replicators that could be organic in nature instead of metal blocks maybe something resembling the Zerg from the classic etc pc game Starcraft? Would be interesting to see either way.
