I like how a guy from another planet is named Jonas Quinn, but the actors real name is Corin Nemec. Seems like they got that backwards lol.

A great reaction as always. This is such a tough episode to watch, but Daniel was such a hero. I know you're going to miss Daniel, but season 6 is fantastic - one of my faves. And you have to watch Atlantis, it's just fantastic! Also, congrats on reaching the SG-1 halfway mark!!

Waiting for you to get to this episode this season has been torture! All the times you've said "but plot armor".....and knowing this was coming. LOL This episode just rips out the heart and stomps on it. Even just seeing the snippets here, had me crying. Sam's ugly crying just hurts the soul. This is not an episode I can just casually watch - it ALWAYS leaves me in a puddle. Even after more than 20 viewings. It's just that well done. As for your question on the title - I've never heard it explained. But my guess is it comes from this bible verse, or at least that concept; "I said, In the meridian of my days I shall go to the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the rest of my years." Isaiah 38:10 As Daniel is taken in the prime of life, or the meridian (zenith).

sigh, tough one to watch. Daniel was great. Loved his goodbye with Sam, its in moments like this you realize whats important and for her it was that she wasnt being honest enough about her feelings :(

This could very well be the best scene of any tv show or movie to ever grace a television.

Once you reach the point where Atlantis starts, cut back on SG-1 and do one episode of each a week. No spoilers, but that's my opinion for approaching the spin-off series.

Agreed, and they're best watched in tandem an episode at a time as well (apart from with the two-parters obviously)

Meridian - Noun: any of the pathways along which the body's vital energy flows according to the theory behind acupuncture edit: ... key phrase of that: Energy Flow... the act of ascending is where the body, mind and soul turn into pure energy (and flow as one with the universe? but dont quote me on that last bit)

Nahid I get choked up myself watching this episode. "Somebody's cutting onions back here" made me giggle but I get it, you spend 5 Seasons watching Daniel Jackson die and come back to life and it happens again in this episode you think to yourself "OK... Here we go again" but the parade of friends coming in to say what he means to them hits a little a hell of a lot harder than when he got hit with a staff blast or the time he was presumed dead when he got kidnapped by that Fishman alien. Didn't like the Ascension effect where the cast was clearly looking watching a light bulb on a string... but it could have been worse Great Reaction man, please keep em' coming

I seen the show twenty times. I cried again. The music. The dialogue. Sam's and Oma's lines get me. Also we learn about naquadria. Hopefully nothing is spoilered to you. Many cool things to come.

I have seen all of McGuyver and all of Stargate multiple times. RIchard Dean Anderson will always be Jack to me. Dont get me wrong McGuyver is awesome but Richard was born for this role. I am so glad they didnt cast Kurt Russel for TV Show.

The worst part of watching live when it first aired is there was no way NOT to know this was happening. Even in baby!internet times, the news was everywhere. So we didn't have the luxury of saying "It's Daniel, he'll be fine, right...?" so this episode will be forever tainted a little for those of us who saw it on the horizon for months. Still emotional, but still. It was just "Ah, it's this one."

Best part about being a teenager when this aired. I wasn't on many of those sites.
